2nd Counselor in the Primary General Presidency
President Russell M. Nelson taught: 'When sore trials come upon us, it's time to deepen our faith in God, to work hard, and to serve others. Then He will heal our broken hearts. He will bestow upon us personal peace and comfort. Those great gifts will not be destroyed, even by death.'

He invites all of us to come unto Him and His Church, to receive the Holy Ghost, the ordinances of salvation, and to gain enduring joy.
Because of the email that was sent out, many more people than last week had on masks. Brother Grapp conducted and read an addendum to the letter, written by President Beeler. The letter softened the stance that if you don't wear a mask, stay home. All are invited and all are encouraged to wear masks, not forced. Jared made a point I hadn't thought of. He said that if someone gets sick and they can trace it back to getting it from someone at church, the Church could be sued. Since President Heyman is an attorney, maybe this is the concern he has.
Another change. For the past couple of weeks we have been singing the hymns. Today we are back to just listening to them.
I was so happy that the Howard's were at the meeting. James and I sat by them. Jean was surprised by how short the meeting was. I told her, "Yes, we've gone from 3 hours to 45 minutes."
Chuck was the speaker in sacrament meeting. He presented President Benson's talk, "Beware of Pride" from the 1989 April General Conference. I guess we all need to be reminded that because we are so blessed is no reason for us to be prideful. We must acknowledge that all of our blessings come from God.
I met the man and two boys who are living with Ginger and her husband. His name is Jason and his boys are Seth and Gavin. I hope they continue coming to church.
We came home for a little break and then went back to the church at 10:45 for tithing settlement. We met with Bishop Hunsaker and shook hands with him, sitting across his desk from him. I asked him where Alicia, his wife, was today and he said she was at home, sick. He said she and her brother both came down with something after their dad's funeral. Her brother was tested and has Covid. He said she had not been tested. I thought to myself, why is he here shaking people's hands when he could be a Covid carrier? James didn't seem to be as upset as I was.
We came home and watched "Meet Me at Christmas" starring Catherine Bell. She's not one of my favorite but I liked this movie. So did James. Hallmark movies are so predictable but they always have a good message.
Jared called us this evening and of course Charlie wanted to see Luna. Charlie has been quite a handful lately. Maybe she is just excited about Christmas. They still aren't sure if they will be coming for Thanksgiving or Christmas.
We had a great gospel discussion with Kim, Brian, and Jared. Kacey was busy with Charlie. Lots of things to discuss from Ether 1-5. I love connecting with family and the gospel!
This evening James and I watched "A Timeless Christmas."
Dave left. Hopefully many will be tossed.
