Jesus Christ, Mediator
Hebrews 9:15
And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

"A Perfect Brightness of Hope"
"I give thanks, my brothers and sisters, for all we have been given in this last and greatest of all dispensations, the dispensation of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The gifts and blessings that flow from that gospel mean everything to me -everything- so in an effort to thank my Father in Heaven for them, I have "promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep." May we press forward with love in our hearts, walking in the"brightness of hope" that lights the path of holy anticipation we have been on now for 200 years. I testify that the future is going to be as miracle filled and bountifully blessed as the past has been. We have every reason to hope for blessings even greater than those we have already received because this is the work of Almighty God, this is the Church of continuing revelation, this is the gospel of Christ's unlimited grace and benevolence. I bear witness to all of these truths and so much more in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

Today was a hectic rather stressful day. It started out that way as we began preparing for our trip to the valley. James went out and tried to temporarily secure the fence so Luna wouldn't get out while we are gone. He also loaded up his truck with tools. He watered the lawn, plants, and trees and then he and Chuck loaded Lexy on the trailer to take to the valley. Our old neighbor and friend in Chandler, Sal is buying Lexy for his wife to drive around town. Here is the picture I took before we left the house.

Look how pretty Lexy is. Poor Nissa will never
be this pretty. The last picture of James's truck
before it was cremated.

I read my scriptures and finished yesterday's blog entry and then I finished getting my books ready to ship. I also walked. I had over 7,000 steps when we left. James had over 15,000.
Getting ready for a trip is always stressful and down to the wire. I told Darrel and Trina I was leaving at 3:00 but it was actually closer to 3:30. James talked me in to going the Globe was so I would be behind him in case anything happened. I am glad I did, although I really wanted to go through Payson.

After Salt River Canyon I was just leaving the San Carlos Indian Reservation when I saw a big plume of black smoke in the air I rounded a corner and there was James stopped at the side of the road, his truck on fire. This is the very reason that I followed him, in case something like this happened.

How many pictures of a burning truck can you take?
Probably too many. This is one of my favorites
because the bumper looks like it is hanging on
for dear life.

Four fire trucks eventually showed up, two red ones from Whiteriver, and two green ones from the forest. Overkill and too late to do any real good. Officer Pina from Globe was very nice. He wrote up the report and had the truck, trailer, and Lexy towed to a yard in Globe.

After Officer Pina's report was finished, James and I were allowed to leave. James drove the rest of the way in to Darrel and Trina's. We were only an hour and a half late. Instead of leaving at 7 or 8 It was more like 10 or 11 when Darrel and Trina left. They got about 30 minutes or so away from home and realized they forgot their air mattress and sleeping bags and had to come back. We were already in bed. They took Starla and left Darrel's truck for James to drive. He may need it to go pick up the truck, Lexy, and the trailer in Globe.

This day is finally over. Darrel and Trina are spending the night in Flagstaff and then going on to their friends houseboat on Lake Powell in the morning. I have my marching orders, or I should say driving orders. The first thing I have to do is make sure Rowan and Addy are awake by 6:15 in the morning.
