It was fun to spend the day with James when it was so unexpected.  We shared our notes for 2 Nephi 15, 16, and 17, some of the Isaiah chapters in the Book of Mormon.  There is so much symbolism involved in the writings of Isaiah.  I learned from reading Brother Ridges commentary that 2 Nephi 16 is symbolic of the Atonement and how it helped Isaiah prepare for his calling as a prophet.

James and I went into town and had lunch at Grumpy Jakes BBQ.  I loved their BBQ sauce and my brisket sandwich and the coleslaw.  Definitely going back when Sheri comes up in March.

We stopped at Book Barn and got journals for our Book of Mormon writings.  I came home and found an Angel Moroni journal online and ordered two.  I will use the one I got at the Book Barn for notes on General Conference.  It's purple.  I also stopped at Walmart to get some candy for the sisters that I visit teach.

When we returned home I moved 16 cans downstairs and paid some bills, and did some blogging.  I also watched Downton Abbey with James.

It was overcast and even rained a little today.  I am sad because most all of the snow is melted.  When the snow melts and the sun comes out, we live in a mud bog.

During Shelly Applegates (Mia Maid) testimony in sacrament meeting, Brother Sayer, a member of our ward slumped down and passed out.  Brother Applegate, and several other men ran back to help him and carried him out in to the foyer.  We have several firemen in our ward and most of them were the ones who moved in to action, including Collin DeWitt who is the fire chief in Gilbert.  Brother Sayer has a bad heart and he is on medication for it but he has a difficult time sitting straight up in the church pews.  He is going to be okay.

Today in Young Women Tina Allen gave a lesson on dealing with adversity.  Before the lesson started I handed out these journals for the girls to take notes in:
Stand in Holy Places is the
2013 Mutual theme
At home we fasted until around 4pm and then we ate dinner  After dinner and cleanup we read our scriptures and had family home evening.  Since the youth are learning about the plan of salvation this month we studied that section of Preach My Gospel.  We got about half way finished because we read all of the accompanying scriptures.  Afterwards we watched my favorite TV show, Downton Abbey.

Oh yes, the Ravens beat the 49ers in the Superbowl.  We didn't watch but I guess the power went out for about 34 minutes.

Inauguration Day.  Enough said.

James is always sad when he leaves for the valley and I stay here.  I stay so I can go to Mutual Wednesday nights  I am going down on Thursday and coming home Saturday.  I will be doing this for at least the next month while we try to get our house in Chandler ready to sell.  Our goal is to put a sign up on March 1st.

Natalie Soderquist called today and filled me in on the ward happenings I missed yesterday.  The big news is that Collin and Wendy DeWitt are the newest members of our ward.  I knew Collin many years ago growing up in Phoenix.  He was in my ward and I had a crush on him.  Sadly, he doesn't remember me.  Collin is the fire chief in Gilbert and filled in as city manager in Gilbert until they just recently hired a new one.
Wendy is a food storage guru.  I have a food storage notebook entitled "The DeWitt System."  I also have a video she made that I bought at Deseret Book.  She has traveled all over the Church teaching classes on food storage.  She has taught many classes at the Mesa Cannery and I have seen here on BYU-TV.  We definitely want her in Young Women's and Natalie thinks our chances are good!

Today I studied, cleaned, and made a handout for Young Women's.  I bought each girl a candle and took off the store labels and replaced them with the First Article of Faith.  The candle represents Heavenly Father, the burning wick is the Savior, and the Holy Ghost is the oxygen.  We can't see the Holy Ghost but he has a powerful affect on us and our testimonies of Christ.
 The light of the world.
Watched Downton Abbey this evening.  I think it is my favorite show!  I love the scenery, the costumes, the accents and the story.

We slept in after our late night gab fest, but not too late.  I made my famous buttermilk pancakes for breakfast along with fresh fruit and turkey bacon.  I also made a whole wheat version of the pancakes for James.
After breakfast we may have watched an episode or two of Downton Abbey.  In the early afternoon we decided to go to Greer via the Springerville way.  When we got to Springerville we were hungry so I looked up what was supposed to be a four star restaurtant called Booga Red's.   Like Sheri said, the company was better than the food although the food was pretty good.  I had a green chili burro but it didn't compare to the Burger House in Miami.

How did I miss getting a picture of Robin?  After lunch we were ready for Greer.
Thanks to Christy for taking some awesome pictures.  We parked in the parking lot of The Greer Peaks Lodge owned by our friends Brian and Amy Lemmerman.

After Greer we come back to the cabin and had a delicious dinner.  James cooked steaks and we also had sweet potato fries, corn. grilled asparagus and sour dough bread.  Now it's time for more Downton Abbey!!

Erik and Amelia Lambson are the proud parents of a baby boy born this morning at 12:38 am.  His name is Oliver Wesley Lambson and he weighed 9 lbs. 4 oz.  Here is a picture.

I had an appointment with my rheumatologist, Dr. Caldron today.  It was a routine check up and an opportunity for them to take my blood.  Afterwards I went to Costa Vida and picked up some dinner for James and I.  I also got some sweet pork tacos for Stacy but I forgot that she only likes them with lettuce and they had tomatoes and onion so she wouldn't eat them even if I scraped the onions and tomatoes off.

James and I finished watching the 2nd season of Downton Abbey.  Now we have to wait for January for the 3rd season.

May the 4th be with you.

Can you believe I am reading the book to James.  The picture is deceiving.  It's really quite harmless.

Worked on preparing FHE for our kids and grandkids this morning.  I am giving a lesson on "The Tree of Life."  I also read from my Michael Wilcox book "Walking on Water."   I love reading and studying the gospel.

James and I went into town today to shop at our favorite stores.  He went to Home Depot and I went to Walmart.  Afterwards we picked up pizzas at Papa John's.  I read to him from the Hunters Moon on the way home.

James put knobs on the cabinet doors in the kitchen today.  They look so nice.  I finished emptying all the boxes I brought up this week.  We also watched several episodes of "Downton Abbey".  We are becoming addicted.  Once we are finished with season two we will have to wait until January to see season 3 which will be televised on PBS television.

Brian and Joe got here a little before 10pm.
