There was rain, lightening, and thunder today.  It was also cold and windy with the high around 48.
I made buttermilk pancakes for breakfast.  They were so yummy!
 Enjoying their pancakes.
After breakfast Sheri, Ben, Evan and I went to Walmart.  I bought some chicken to make for dinner.  I came home and marinated it so it would be nice and juicy when it was time to cook dinner.

Ben looked for a new Minecraft game but they didn't have one.  Sheri said she would order it for him on Amazon.  We stopped at Circle K for drinks on the way home.
View of Green's Peak on the way home.

Back at home Sheri and Max and I played a game of Five Crowns.  James took Ben on a Razr ride.  No one else wanted to go because it was so cold.  James said he had the need for speed and Ben said he doesn't get cold.  When he got back he was freezing.  I guess grandpa went too fast.

Evan has quite a personality.  He has an imaginary friend whose name is Jimmy Flipkins.  Isn't that a cool name!!  I bought a Jenga game at Walmart and he played with the blocks.  He made a robot then he came up with the idea that he was going to open a store and sell lemonade when he gets home.  The name of his store will be "Robo."

The boys played Zombies, Jenga, ping pong, and went on short Razr rides.

We watched The Pioneer Woman.  She made homemade pizza and ice cream pie.  Michael and Alex decided we should make an ice cream pie.  Maybe tomorrow.

Tonight for dinner we had honey lime chicken, broccoli and roasted potatoes.  Everything was delicious.
The boys did the dishes.

Kim, Brian and Joe got here around 11 pm.  Yeah!  Now the party really begins.

I finished the Book of Mormon for the sixth time this year.

I got these pictures off Facebook:
Tricia found a stack of her favorite treat at Costco.
It's James's favorite treat too.

Happy Labor Day!  Why is it that on Labor day we do anything but labor?  James got up early and he and Alex went down to Chocolate Lake to do some fishing.  This time James caught one fish but Alex didn't catch any.  Maybe the fish are on to him.
The weather was so nice, I read my scriptures on the back porch and then decided to take a walk down to Chocolate Lake and see how the guys were doing.  I figured I could catch a ride back with them.  Well they must have come back cross country instead of on the road because when I got there no one was there.  I called Kim to come and pick me up.  On the way home as the cool breeze was hitting us in the face she said: "I could do this all day."  I agreed.  Instead we went home and fixed breakfast.
Kim fixed buttermilk pancakes, and sausage, and I fried the bacon.
We like these pancakes for their delicious taste and their crispiness on the outside.
I got the recipe from Marci Coombs's blog.
Joseph wouldn't eat any thing.  I think he had some cereal and James wouldn't either but the rest of us enjoyed it, especially Alex.  That kid can eat.  I don't know where he puts it.
After breakfast Kim, Brian, Joe and Alex packed up and left for home.  We were sad to see them go.
Kim took this picture of James before she left.
A couple of hours after they left it rained hard for about an hour.  Sad because they wanted it to rain while they were here.
I am ashamed to say that after everyone left I "vegged" out on the couch to watch my shows that I missed last week because of the RNC. I watched "So You Think You Can Dance".  One of my Utah girls, Lindsey went home.  I also watched Project Runway where they didn't sent anyone home, Cupcake Wars, and Pioneer Woman.  I wonder if the Pioneer Woman's tequila lime chicken is as good as my honey lime chicken?
James went out and trimmed some trees.  I finished my Sunday School entry in my Sunday journal then went on a ride.  When I got back James was looking for his phone in a pile of brush.  I called his number and he found it immediately.  We went to bed a little after 8.

We slept in after our late night gab fest, but not too late.  I made my famous buttermilk pancakes for breakfast along with fresh fruit and turkey bacon.  I also made a whole wheat version of the pancakes for James.
After breakfast we may have watched an episode or two of Downton Abbey.  In the early afternoon we decided to go to Greer via the Springerville way.  When we got to Springerville we were hungry so I looked up what was supposed to be a four star restaurtant called Booga Red's.   Like Sheri said, the company was better than the food although the food was pretty good.  I had a green chili burro but it didn't compare to the Burger House in Miami.

How did I miss getting a picture of Robin?  After lunch we were ready for Greer.
Thanks to Christy for taking some awesome pictures.  We parked in the parking lot of The Greer Peaks Lodge owned by our friends Brian and Amy Lemmerman.

After Greer we come back to the cabin and had a delicious dinner.  James cooked steaks and we also had sweet potato fries, corn. grilled asparagus and sour dough bread.  Now it's time for more Downton Abbey!!
