"Ministering"
Elder Gerrit W. Gong
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
"As followers of Jesus Christ, we seek to minister to others as He would because lives are waiting to change."

I got up around 5:30 this morning. I really need to get up earlier because James got up the same time that I did and I had no time alone to say my prayers. He wanted to have family scriptures and prayer right away and I felt like I wasn't ready. I really do need my alone time with Heavenly Father before I face the world.

The reason James hasn't received any money from Advantage Medical (Jerod Bowen's company), is because they wrote his account number down wrong. They thought a one was a seven. They should be able to clear up the mistake and get the money in our account by tomorrow or Saturday.

Big news! Ruby ran the mile in 5:53 today. Chandler's coach heard about it and he wants Joshua to talk her in to coming to Chandler High School next year. Fat chance, but it's still an honor that they want her because Chandler has the best track program in Arizona, according to Michael anyway.

I watched and listened to Inklings today with Emily and Courtney Rich. In John 21:11 it talks about Peter counting the fish they caught when Jesus told them to cast their nets on the right side. There were 153 fish. Emily said that 153 in Hebrew means "I am God."

Courtney told a story about going golfing with her son Westin who is 13 or 14. He came to a hole with a big sand trap with lots of trees around it. He said he needed help and said a prayer. He hit the ball and it looked like it went into some trees near the sandbar. They looked for the ball quite awhile and couldn't find it. Courtney looked out onto the green and saw the ball. She said to Westin, "Westin, your ball is on the green." They looked at each other and said, "Jesus did this."

Emily encouraged us to look for signs of Jesus in our everyday life. Someone on the comments said this reminded her of Gerald Lund's book, "Divine Signatures." I found the book on Deseret Book Plus and downloaded the audio and I have been listening to it. It is so good!

James had a meeting this evening about the ward activity next week. His assignment is to get people to bring cobblers and to purchase 50 hotdog buns.

I looked out this evening and saw an animal in Luna's corral that was not Luna. It was a female elk. James said she is pregnant and will be giving birth any day. He pulled back the curtain on the door going out to the patio to take a picture, and she ran away.

The wind just keeps blowing and blowing and blowing. When will it ever stop?
