Jesus Christ Is The Strength Of Parents
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
God has given parents the "sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, and to teach them to . . . observe the commandments of God."
After breakfast this morning James went out to the Wallace's for the ward service project at their place. He was gone two or three hours.
When he got home he changed his clothes and went into town to do some grocery shopping for me for Mother's day. He also gave me some money to spend on myself. I'm already being spoiled and the day isn't even here yet.
I read on Instagram that Greg and Florence Hatch have been transferred to Tongo. They are doing a service mission. Greg is a dentist and I believe that Florence is his assistant. They were originally called to Tongo but because of Covid the country has been closed. It was just recently reopened. Susan and Pierce Goodman are also going there and doing a service mission for the Church. Pierce is a dentist too. I wonder if they will get to meet.
We missed the ward potluck party at the Wallace's this evening. I just didn't feel like going and James actually forgot. We spent a quiet evening at home. I am becoming a bit of a recluse or as Jared would say, socially awkward.
