Accessing God's Power through Covenants
Elder Dale G. Renlund
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
"Like the Amazon, we have a natural flow to our lives; we tend to do what comes naturally. Like the Amazon, with heavenly help we can do seemingly unnatural things. After all, it is not natural for us to be humble, meek, or willing to submit our wills to God. Yet only by doing so can we be transformed, return to live in the presence of God, and achieve our eternal destiny."

I got up at 5:30 and had prayer with James before he left for the valley. He has a meeting with Frank and Samantha of Advantage Medical. Frank didn't show so James had to talk to him over the phone. Funny thing is James asked him if they could do a phone meeting and Frank said no so James had to make a special trip to the valley for this "meeting."

I had the perfect breakfast, cake and milk.

I worked on my puzzle this morning. At 12:30 I left with my ministering partner Kathy Crane to visit Chelsea MacArthur and Catherine Halcomb.

The MacArthur's are moving to Alaska in July. They either want to lease or sell their place. Kathy thinks it would be perfect for Amy and Cope Reynolds who are looking for a place to rent.

Scotty, the little four year old calls me Lambson. I think it's because her sister Peyton told her not to call me sister. Chelsea says they won't be taking their dog Ernie to Alaska and Kathy Crane really wants him. She already had two dogs but I think she feels sorry for him.

Catherine was at home and already had the dogs put in the backyard because she knew we were coming. Catherine has been sick with a cough but she is feeling much better.

The main topic of conversation with Catherine was Barbara Bartels wedding. Kathy said that Barbara has not reserved the church yet. I asked her if she would call Barbara and talk to her about reserving the building. Catherine is making Barbara's dress. They are going to the valley on Friday to pick out material.

As we were leaving Catherine said her husband gave her a blessing. He passed away 10 years ago. She is always telling me that she talks to him. I know that she misses him very much.

When I got home I got the two pieces of boxed up cake out of the refrigerator and delivered them to the Thompson's. Maxine had been out working in the yard. Gary was nowhere to be found so Maxine gave me a tour of the house by herself. It is a modular home but is very nice. I especially loved the huge island in the kitchen and the shower in the master bedroom. There was a chair in the shower and she says Gary takes extra long showers and sits in the chair.

When I got home I told Kim I needed to take a little nap. While I was resting, James came home. We had a little something to eat and then Kim, Brian, James and I all played Five Crowns.

James was ahead the first half of the game but he slowly lost his lead. I actually ended up winning, something which rarely happens.

James and I said good night to Kim and Brian and went into the bedroom to walk and listen to our book before going to bed. Our book is called, "Coming Home to Bellingham."

These files are filled with names that Maxine
Thompson has ready for temple work.
