The Teachings of Jesus Christ
President Dallin H. Oaks
First Counselor in the First Presidency
We are given the scriptures to direct our lives. As the prophet Nephi taught us, we should "feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do."
Today was a good day. Beautiful weather and I felt good. I am grateful. James is still holding off going to the valley until Armando and his crew are finished with the drywall. It will probably be tomorrow.
I love President Eyring. He is the sweetest man. I love the story in his talk about meeting someone while traveling and asking her to tell him about her family. She tells of her daughter who is struggling and wondering if God had any message for her. President Eyring asks if he can have her email address and sends her this email:
The Lord loves you. He always has. The Lord wants you to come back. Your promised blessings are still in place."
He is a member of the First Presidency showing us how to minister.
He starts the conversation with a stranger by saying, "Tell me about your family." I love this man.
My blood sugar was a little high today so I had a protein breakfast, ham cheese, cottage cheese, a protein shake and some black berries.
After breakfast and scriptures and prayer with James I went in to my 20 minute routine. Twenty minutes at the computer or studying, 20 minutes walking and working on my puzzle, 20 minutes back to the computer.
James and I walked and listened to our book, "What Dreams May Come". I have one problem with this book. One of the main characters has been in a coma the entire time.
I started a new book about the American Revolution called, "Petticoat Spy." I also listened to President Nelson's talk, "Peacemaker's Needed."
James got an email from Advantage Medical asking him to sign a lien release for the work on 51st Avenue. James signed with the stipulation that he get paid! $50,000 is a lot of money!
James used the Cat to level the backyard today and then drove it back over to Barbara's. He called me to come and get him. This is the third time and I may have murmured a little. I felt terrible when I drove up and he looked so sad. I will never complain about picking him up again!
I found a great recipe for a red velvet cake for Janna Grombach's birthday. All I need to do is add chocolate chips per her request.
