A Living Prophet for the Latter-days
Elder Allen D. Haynie
Of the Seventy
"Knowing by revelation that there is a living prophet on the earth changes everything. It causes one to be uninterested in the debate about when is a prophet speaking as a prophet or whether one is ever justified in selective rejection of prophetic counsel. Such revealed knowledge invites one to trust the counsel of a living prophet, even if we do not fully understand it."
I got up early and then went back to bed. I just can't seem to get enough sleep lately.
I paid the Owens Energy bill this morning and Lambson Construction's White Cap bill before leaving for Peyton MacArthur's softball game. James is too busy to go with me.
The game was at a park in Lakeside on Woodland Lane which is the way I used to go to Nannie's house. Chelsea told me it was across the street from the castle. I wasn't sure what she meant until I saw "the castle." It looks like a motel. I asked Chelsea who the house belonged to and she said Dr. Hamblin, who is a dermatologist here in Show Low.
Peyton's game was at a place called Mountain Meadow Park. It was very windy and I wish I had worn a jacket. Chelsea came and sat by me but I told her to sit by her family who was here. Peyton got two doubles. I enjoyed watching the game.
After the game I went in to Show Low. I had lunch at Taco Bell and then went in to Dollar Tree. I wanted to find some dishtowels to go with my M&M mother's day tags, and also some M&M's. They had the dishtowels but not the M&M's. Next I went to Circle K because I didn't feel like going to Walmart. They had all flavors of M&M's. I got peanut, peanut butter, plain, and almond.
I came home and paired the M&M's with a dishtowel, put a bow around them and attached the tag which says:
Mom - Magnificent & Marvelous. Why didn't I take a picture? You tell me. Because I am sooo forgetful.
Oh yes, one thing about Dollar Tree. The reason it is my favorite dollar store is because everything is a dollar. Well, that has changed.
I saw $1.25 signs in the store. When I got in line to checkout I heard the registers: a dollar twenty five, a dollar twenty five, a dollar twenty give,... Everything changes.
When I got home the first thing I did after changing in to my comfy clothes is to take a nap... my favorite thing to do.
Kathy called during my nap so I had to get up and get dressed because she said she was bringing something over to me.
Kathy brought me chocolate covered strawberries. She gave me four because she knew Kim was coming. How thoughtful!
Kim and Brian arrived around 5 o'clock this evening. Kim brought me a piece of the orange creamsicle cake she made. I loved it!
James was out working on the fence when Kim and Brian got here. He came in and Brian was cooking some dinner. He was kind enough to feed James and I thank him for that.
James suggested that we have family prayer with Kim and Brian, which we did.
Kaufman's on serving a mission.
