"Teaching Self-Reliance To Children and Youth"

Let us follow our Savior, Jesus Christ and His gospel by becoming self-reliant throughout our lives and teaching this to our children and youth. We can do this best by

1. being good examples of service to others,

2. living and teaching the doctrine and principles of self-reliance, and

3. obeying the commandment to build self-reliance as part of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Slept in until 6:30 and then made breakfast for James, sausage and scrambled eggs. 

I studied Isaiah 44 and 45 today. I took these notes from the book I am using, "Making Sense of Isaiah" regarding today's idols:

"Anything we make more important in our lives than God, any act or thing to which we are willing to give greater time, resources, homage, or devotion than our Heavenly Father becomes our idol." The Lord says idolators feed on ashes, things of no lasting value.

James took my phone to find the best location for our Starlink satellite on the Starlink app.  

James went into town to meet about the Peeler cabinet problems. After his meeting he got some of the things he needed to build a platform for our Starlink. He also went through Taco Bell and brought me back a Mexican pizza. It was quite tasty.

It hear lost of drilling and pounding coming from the roof area. He finally asks me to come up and with the Starlink app on my phone we set up the system and put the router in Darrel and Trina's bedroom for now. Woohoo! We have waited for this moment for a long time!

I unhook our two Verizon internet devices and set them aside. The first thing I try is the TV. Watching DWTS is a dream compared to the old internet. The picture is crystal clear and there is no buffering! the same with Kids Baking Championship. I finish season 6 and my little girl, Paige, who is 11 and has rheumatoid arthritis is the winner. It's such a pleasure to watch without that little buffering circle every two or three minutes!

Listened to Inklings today and started a new Sarah Eden book with James, "The Best Laid Plans." I'm so glad I have Deseret Book Plus!

It rained, with lightning and thunder tonight and was still raining when we went to bed. Oh yes, did I mention that James caught four mice with his sticky rat traps. I think he needs to put them in the garage next time. Mice or rats got in to the horse feed he bought and scattered it everywhere.
