"Invite Christ To Author Your Story"

In April 2021, our prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, asked us to consider what we could do if we had more faith in Jesus Christ. With more faith in Jesus Christ, we could ask a question to which we do not know the answer - ask our Father in Heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ, to send an answer through the Holy Ghost, who testifies of truth. If we had more faith, we would ask the question and then be willing to accept the answer we receive, even if it doesn't fit our comfortable narrative. And the promised blessing that will come from acting in faith in Jesus is an increase in faith in Him as our author and finisher, President Nelson declared that we "receive more faith by doing somethings that requires more faith."

"The Peace of Christ Abolishes Enmity"
Elder Dale G. Renlund
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
When I reported this kindness to my father, his heart melted and he wept, a very rare occurrence for that stoic Finn. From that time until his death three years later, he never expressed another negative sentiment about Russia. Inspired by the example of his fellow Finns, my father chose to place his discipleship of Jesus Christ above all other considerations. The Finns were no less Finnish; the Russians were no less Russian; neither group abandoned their culture, history, or experiences to banish enmity. They did not need to. Instead, they chose to make their discipleship of Jesus Christ their primary consideration.

I got up at 5:10. James had a pain in the arch of his foot and it kept him awake until he took some pain pills. He got up somewhere between 7-8 to feed Luna. He says the wind is terrible. I could hear it without even going outside so I already knew.

Listened to "Don't Miss This"and asked myself this question: "Is there a blessing for me? I also listened to part or Brother Halverson's Unshaken.

I got a call from Ruth Gale this morning. She and I were going to go to the 3:30 session at the temple and then afterwards go out to eat. She wants to change the plan and eat before the temple. She is going to the valley and there is a storm coming and she wants to beat the storm. We decided that we would meet at Eva's Mexican Restaurant at 2:15 and that would give us plenty of time to make the 3:30 session. I left the house at 1:20 and arrived at Eva's about 1:10. The wind was blowing so hard when I got out of the car I thought my skirt was going to fly above my head. When I walked into Eva's Ruth was sitting right by the door. She was the first person I saw. Ruth looks so good. I know she is at least 8 years older than I am. She has a glow about her and such a quiet demeanor.

Ruth ordered a beef enchilada with green sauce and a side of rice. I ordered a chicken enchilada with red sauce. We both had water with lemon to drink.

I wore a scarf to keep my hair from blowing all over the place and the scarf got stuck in the zipper of my purse and I could not get my purse open. My purse has my recommend inside so it is vital that I get it open. Neither Ruth nor I could do it so I went over to the counter and ask one of the girls who works at Eva's if she could help me. She was eventually able to get the purse open although the scarf is still stuck in the zipper. It's okay, I can live with this. Ruth and I had a nice visit although it was short. She went to Rhonda Smith's funeral. Ron, Rhonda's husband, was her first stake president when she moved up here in 2010. Dan Mills was also her stake president. Josh Van Vleet is in the bishopric of her ward.

We made it to the temple in plenty of time for our session. There were seven or eight sisters in our session and about three less men than sisters. The session was all close-captioned, which I believe is new. President Crandall from the stake presidency when we were in the Show Low stake was the officiator of the session and his wife, Trisha was the sister follower. Kim Seaman came in and helped at the veil at the end. She helped Ruth at the veil. As soon as Ruth went through the veil she left. I was right behind her and said goodbye in the dressing room and told her to drive safely. I had to wait for my changing stall as someone was in it. Next time I won't get the first stall. I folded my ordinance clothes and spoke with Sister Crandall. I told her who I was and that I remembered her husband being in the stake presidency when we were in the Show Low stake. She was very friendly and kind. Kim Seaman gave me a hug.

Ruth is going to the valley to help her daughter Valeen get ready to sell her house. Valeen's husband is an aeronautical engineer and they are moving to the San Antonio area.

When I arrived home I was pleasantly surprised that James had washed the truck. I had asked him to in preparation of driving to the stake meeting tomorrow night with a truck full of people. He also did the laundry and took the quilts back upstairs. He made cooked cabbage with ham for dinner and I heated up our stuffed mushrooms. The mushrooms were delicious and I would definitely buy them again!

I watched an older Hallmark movie, "Harvest Wedding" starring Victor Webster and Jill Wagner. I really like them together.

James indexed, tried to get some money from his job, and insisted we read a chapter from our book. The Berlin wall (barbed wire fence) went up in Germany over night. James also mailed Adam's and Joe's birthday cards.

Not a big fan of macaroons but
I love to look at them, so pretty!
