Jesus Christ, Resurrection
2 Nephi 2:8
Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise.

"The Love of God"
Elder D. Todd Christofferson
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
I have long been impressed by, and have also felt, the yearning love of the prophets of God in their warnings against sin. They are not motivated by a desire to condemn. Their true desire mirrors the love of God; in fact, it is the love of God. They love those to whom they are sent, whoever they may be and whatever they may be like. Just as the Lord, His servants do not want anyone to suffer the pains of sin and poor choices.

We left for town at 10:15 for our 11:00 appointment to get our tires balanced and rotated. It was a clear, cold, sunshiny day. On the way in to town we saw a dead elk on the side of the road. Coming back from Walmart in Show Low we saw a dead deer by the side of the road. I'm wondering if it happened during yesterday's blizzard.

James and I took a walking tour of Walmart while waiting for our car and ended up spending $60.00. I spent $25 on small gifts for Trina, Stacy, and Sheri. I also got a cake carrier. James bought a pot for our window plant and some potting soil. It was all money well spent. I wanted to walk to Wendy's or Panda but James says it was too cold.

The car only cost us $5 because James had bought the warranty when he bought the tires. On the way out we went through the Wendy's drive-thru because I wanted a Frosty and some fries. I ordered a kids meal hamburger and James ordered a classic chicken sandwich. What a rip off. Our total was over $12.00. I guess Taco Bell is the only cheap food anymore. My Frosty was less than four ounces and the burger was like a slider with ketchup only. Oh, BTW, Wendy's claim that their fries are better than McDonald's is a fabricated lie.

We listened to Brother Halverson's Unshaken in the car and then I finished it when I got home while I was walking and working on indexing.

We stopped at the post office and our neighbor Chuck was there. He asked me how I was doing and I said I still have a cough. He said he may have to take Kathy, his wife, to Urgent Care. I asked what was wrong and he said she has been sick since she delivered dinner to the Scott's last week. The Scott's have influenza A. Poor Kathy, getting sick while doing a good deed.

When we get home it is rest time for me and computer time for James. He's trying to fill out the Arizona Game & Fish application for himself, Darrel, and Rowan to go hunting this fall. After gathering Rowan and Darrel's information he makes the comment that he and Rowan are exactly the same size and weight. I guess that's quite an accomplishment for a 74 year old man to be the same size as his 15 year old grandson. He can't make the application go through so he asks Darrel if he will do it. About this time I get up from my rest and go to my computer in the bedroom to work. James comes in and lies down on the bed for a nap. We need to get synchronized.

We started a new book by Josi Kilpack called: "Mayfield Family Vol. 4: Love and Lavendar." I vaguely remember the Mayfield family but I don't think it really matters.

The rest of the evening I indexed and walked and then watched a movie starring Paul Greene, "Christmas CEO." James and I rested on the couch before going to bed.

Today was my brother Harold's birthday. He is a year and a half younger than me which makes him 72. He is a good guy and I love him.

memory of their concrete pouring days

Can you believe a rat chewed this hole through
our hard plastic garbage can. Never fear,
James caught him. He was building a nest in the garbage.

on our way to town

My friend Jean and I used to eat here quite often.
