Church leaders have often encouraged Latter-day Saints "to prepare for adversity in life by having a basic supply of food and water and some money in savings." At the same time, we are encouraged to "be wise" and "not go to extremes" in our efforts to establish a home storage supply and a financial reserve. A resource entitled Personal Finances for Self-Reliance, published in 2017 and currently available on the Church website in 36 languages, begins with a message from the First Presidency, which states:
"The Lord has declared, 'It is my purpose to provide for my saints' (Doctrine and Covenants 104:15). This revelation is a promise from the Lord that He will provide temporal blessings and open the door of self-reliance, ...
"...Accepting and living these principles will better enable you to receive the temporal blessings promised by the Lord."

Restoration Proclamation
P8 S1
We gladly declare that the promised Restoration goes forward through continuing revelation.

James left this morning around 8:30 for the valley. We had scriptures and prayer before he left. He wanted me to go with him but I wash just not feeling well enough. I still have a sore throat and cough along with laryngitis.

I have a hard time getting started in the mornings because of my sickness and my sciatic nerve. Stacy wanted me to get tested again for Covid becuae she said there a some false negatives. I scheduled another test for tomorrow afternoon at 3:00.

My index total for the month is 1,655. I set my goal for 5,000 this month, which means I need to index 2,500 before the 14th.

I fed Luna this evening but I thought it was sweet that Chuck called me to see if I needed him to come over and feed her.

I texted Vickie about why Monte resigned as head football coach at Show Low. She said that he said it wasn't fun anymore.

Tamara, Lynda Van Haren, Lynda Finnell and Michelle Tesarek clean the Bowen's laundry room today until it was spotless. I'm beginning to wonder where they are putting everything.

I watched several episodes of "Anne with an E." I wish it was geared down a little so Lola and Ruby could watch it. I think Addy might enjoy it but I am not going to suggest it because then Ruby will want to watch it and it's too old for her.

James called this evening and said that Trina was having Young Women's at her house. He said he snuck upstairs and watched "Parent Trap" with Lola. Ruby joined them when YW was over for her. He said it was so fun to hear their comments. We need more moments with our grandchildren, especially the younger ones.

For "Come Follow Me" I have listened to Brother Halverson, Turtle House, and Teaching with Power, and Book of Mormon Central.

I slept on the recliner. Once I woke up and thought someone was outside looking in at me.

I love all the pink desserts in February!
