'Embrace the Future with Faith'
President Russell M. Nelson
President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
If preparation is our key to embracing this dispensation and our future with faith, how can we best prepare?
For decades, the Lord's prophets have urged us to store food, water, and financial reserves for a time of need. The current pandemic has reinforced the wisdom of that counsel. I urge you to take steps to be temporally prepared.
In that regard, we can learn a lot from Captain Moroni. As commander of the Nephite armies, he faced opposing forces that were stronger, greater in number, and meaner. So, Moroni prepared his people in three essential ways.
First, he helped them create areas where they would be safe - "places of security" he called them. Second, he prepared "the minds of the people to be faithful unto the Lord." And third, he never stopped preparing his people - physically or spiritually. Let us consider these three principles.

"All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:3).

I got a Valentine's card from my friend Pam this week, a wedding announcement for Jackson Allen, and the pink Book of Mormon I ordered for Lola.

I ordered the April 2021 GC study journal from Work and a Wonder. I got one last year and really liked it. It only cost me $7.37 because of my credit card rewards points.

I helped James get his truck unstuck this afternoon. I steered while James pulled the truck out with the Cat. We went to get the mail and to mail Sheri's birthday card. When we got to the post office James realized we were losing air in the front passenger side tire. We were planning on going to Dollar General to get me a drink, I said it was okay, we didn't need to go, but James insisted. First we went home and he put 45 lbs. of air in the tire. We drove to Dollar General and all the way home again. When we got home the tire had 20 lbs. of air.

This afternoon I vacuumed the bedroom and family and swept and mopped the kitchen. I made dinner, chicken tenders with sesame soy sauce, rice pilaf and broccoli. James loved it and so did I. I did the dishes, blogged, indexed, and walked. We also read from "Wedding Cake" and listened to it in the car on the way to D.G.

I am a little frustrating with my indexing. I indexed over 240 names today. My total should have been 3,423, but they only gave me credit for 3,324, which is 99 short of what I actually did. I'm wondering if someone made a mistake. It takes quite a bit of time to index that many names.

I texted Kim this evening to see if they were coming up this weekend. She said they were postponing until March 4th and 5th. She also told me that Joe is going to school to learn how to build and repair guitars. So far he is loving it. He gets to build 2 guitars during the course of school. It starts at 8 a.m. and goes til 6. Then he comes home and does Postmates to earn $ and he just started working where Alex works in Scottsdale on the weekends. He is busy and tired!

I asked Kim what Postmates was and this was her answer:
Postmates is food delivery service. People order food. He logs on his account to see if there are any orders waiting for him to pick up and deliver. You can work whenever you want. He is living with us. With school full time and his court bills each month he can't afford to pay rent, so he is living here.

Such good news about Joe. We have been hoping for a long time that he would find a way to earn a living and keep busy. This is an answer to prayers!
