Regardless of our circumstances, we can intentionally make efforts to build and increase our faith in Jesus Christ. It is strengthened when we remember that we are children of God and that He loves us. Our faith grows as we experiment on the word of God with hope and diligence, trying our very best to follow Christ's teachings. Our faith increases as we choose to believe rather than doubt, forgive rather than judge, repent rather than rebel. Our faith is refined as we patiently rely on the merits and mercy and grace of the Holy Messiah.

We affirm that God is making known His will for His beloved sons and daughters.
Today was our ward Christmas program. The three members of the bishopric were the speakers. Six missionaries sang the opening song and a group of sisters sang "Silent Night" as the closing song. The music was beautiful and the talks were great!
Brother Goodman was the first speaker. He spoke about how Jesus condescended to come to earth and be our Savior. He quoted 2 Nephi 25:26 - "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins."
Brother Grapp was the next speaker. He served his mission in Hawaii and always begins his talks by greeting the audience with "Aloha." He used the word aloha to talk about the Savior and His Atonement. A is for Atonement, L is for love, O is for obedience, Ha in Hawaiian means "breath of life" of the gift of Eternal Life.
Bishop Hunsaker was the last speaker. He was quite emotional. He said the Savior loves you and He is happy you are here today. He asked, "What does your Christmas look like?" He talked a little about the symbols of Christmas. He said we should focus on the Savior, open our hearts, do as He would do, and give as He would give." Bishop Hunsaker is one of the most giving people I know.
After the meeting was over we gave away all of the Relief Society gifts except five. Tamara took them and will give them away this week. She is saving one to give my friend Pam who comes to the library quite often.
At home James and I had some zuppa tuscana soup I bought at Costco. It was good but not as good as Olive Gardens. I also made a salad and some breadsticks to go with the soup.
After lunch it was time to get ready to go to the valley. I had put all of Darrel and Trina's family's gifts under the Christmas tree and asked James if he would get them and put them in the car. He said he would. He left two of them behind which I didn't discover until we got to Darrel's.
We stopped at the Cranes', the Peelers', the Goodmans', and the Wilhelms' to drop off gifts. James went in at the Goodmans' and dropped off their gifts. Barbara came out to the car to give me a gift. I had on a black top and my tan pants. When she saw me she looked surprised and said: "Oh, for a minute I didn't think you had any pants on." I laughed and said, "Yea, I never wear pants in the car."
As a reward for going the Payson way I read to James from "Banana Split." Our first stop in the valley was at Kim's to pick up our snacks that we left in her freezer, pizza bites, crab cakes, and wings. The family party is at Darrel and Trina's. Kim doesn't think she feels well enough to ride in the car that far so I guess they aren't coming. Darn!
When we got to Darrel's he was cooking a ham and so I could not make my snacks. I also brought cookies so I set them out. After the ham was done I cooked some pizza bites and some wings. Sheri brought crab cakes so I didn't use mine.
Those attending the party: Darrel, Addy, (Trina had to work) Rowan, Ruby, Lola, Sheri, Ian, Ben, Max, Evan, Adam, Kaitlyn, and James and I. We played our White Elephant game. Rowan was #1 and even though Adam took his gift away from him, he ended up with it because he got it back in the end.
I got a Star Wars puzzle that Sheri brought.
I opened one from Ian that was batteries and said:
"Toy not included." Sheri replaced it with the puzzle.
