Jesus Christ has given us a continuous pattern for change. He invites us to exercise faith in Him, which inspires us to repent - "which faith and repentance bringeth a change of heart." As we repent and turn our hearts to Him, we gain a greater desire to make and live sacred covenants. We endure to the end by continuing to apply these principles throughout our lives and inviting the Lord to change us. Enduring to the end means changing to the end. I now understand that I am not starting over with each failed attempt, but that with each try, I am continuing my process of change.

Restoration Proclamation
He inviates all of us to come unto Him and His Church, to receive the Holy Ghost, the ordinances of salvation, and to gain enduring joy.

James and I left for the valley this morning around 7 a.m.
My appointment at AARA is at 11 p.m. for my infusion. We made a deal that we would go through Payson on the way and then come back through Salt River Canyon on the way home. It's the best I could do.

On the way we listened to Brother Halverson's "Unshaken" Come Follow Me broadcast. He is sooo good. I especially enjoyed his sharing an experience Brother Clayton Christensen had with reading the Book of Mormon. It is part of a talk Brother Christensen gave at BYU-Idaho in 2004 called, "Decisions For Which I've Been Grateful." Brother C talks about five decisions he made when he was a young adult that in retrospect have had a profound influence on his life. Decision number two was to learn if the Book of Mormon is true. He was at Oxford and realized that each of the previous seven times, he had read it on an assignment, either from his parents or a BYU instructor or his mission president or a seminary teacher, and his objective was to finish the book. But this time he just desperately needed to know for myself if the Book of Mormon was true. To that point in his life he had sustained himself on a belief in many of the doctrines of the church and in the trust of his parents because he knew they knew it was true, and he trusted his parents. But finally when he arrived at Oxford, for the first time in his life he just desperately needed to know if it was true.

Brother Christensen's experience is truly incredible. I would share it hear but it is just too long and I'm sure most would no finish reading it. It can be heard on Brother Halverson's broadcast or by reading the BYU-Idaho talk.

I was a little early at the AARA. I got called back early but one woman was in front of me and took the last seat so I went back to the waiting room and waited another 20 minutes. I was the last one out and was still there when the girls, France, Ang, and the new girl ate their lunch.

James wasn't ready to pick me up because he was waiting for Armondo on the job so I walked across the street to Costco and did some shopping. When James picked me up I told him I would load the car. I bought him a flannel shirt/jacket and didn't want him to see it. We took some of the frozen snacks I got for our Christmas party on Sunday and took them to Kim's to put them in her freezer. We also stopped at the post office in downtown Chandler and mailed Ben's birthday card and some business letters James had.

Next stop was Stacy's to drop her off some Tramadol. She tore the ACL in her knee and is pretty miserable. They aren't doing surgery until they try some physical therapy first.

By this time we were pretty hungry. We have Olive Garden gift cards but didn't want to take the time for a sit down lunch so we went to Chik-fila. I also forgot to mention that we stopped at Sal's to leave and check and to pick up some grapefruit.

After Chik-fila we went to Burnham's to pick some oranges. James did the picking while I waited in the car.

After Burnham's we headed for Queen Creek where James had to look at a house where he is bidding a job. Again, I waited in the car.
As we drove out of Queen Creek we passed a brand new Whataburger so we stopped for dinner. I had a junior and James had a regular sized. Okay, I have to admit, I had fries with mine. James is always drinking my drink. This time he got his own, a diet Dr. Pepper.

I cannot sleep through Salt River Canyon and I couldn't even enjoy the view because it was after dark. James wanted to know if I wanted to stop in Show Low for gas. I said no, let's get home!

It was snowing in Vernon and I saw a bright glow and a cloud coming from the hill behind the grave yard. James said the glow was just from house lights but I disagreed. I was right. The entire hill was on fire. I guess they like to clear trees and burn when the ground is wet. They Moyer's live in the house on the hill. I know Cherry from Vernon Book Club.

At home after unloading oranges, and frozen goods from Costco, we turned on the latest Hallmark Christmas movie, "Unlocking Christmas", starring the gorgeous Taylor Cole and Steve Lund. It was very good. I walked around the couch and managed to get 10,000 steps after spend 8 hours in the car today.

Happy Anniversary!
