'By Union of Feeling We Obtain Power with God'
Sister Sharon Eubank
First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency
Jacob 2:17 reads, "Think of your brothers and sisters like unto yourselves, and be familiar with all and free with your substance, that they may be rich like unto you." Let's replace the word substance with mercy-be free with your mercy that they may be rich like unto you.
". . . The nearer we get to our heavenly Father, the more are we dispos'd to look with compassion on perishing souls-we feel that we want to take them upon our shoulders and cast their sins behind our back. If you would have God have mercy on you, have mercy on one another."

Jesus Christ has once again called Apostles and has given them priesthood authority.
I got up early this morning and took a shower and put my hair in curlers and then ate something, took my Tramadol, and then layed down on the recliner in the family room to wait for the Tram to kick in. Curlers are so uncomfortable. How did I ever manage to use them all throughout my school years?
We had two speakers in Church today. Taleena Singleton, one of the young women in our ward, and Tina Allen, the Young Women's President.
Taleena talked about service and quoted Mosiah 2:17, "When ye are in the service of your fellowmen, ye are only in the service of your God." She talked about giving service everyday to her family and friends. She was very prepared and gave a great talk.
Sister Allen talked about charity and quoted Moroni 7:43-47. In order to have charity we must be meek and lowly in heart. We must be forgiving. Am I a forgiving person? Tina told some stories about how her mom raised she and her siblings alone and some of the service that was given to them. I guess my takeaway from Tina's talk was that she talks to her mom every single day. I was impressed. Tina said that serving helps us feel the pure love of Christ.
Sister Brewer gave the closing prayer and it was one of the most sincere, heartfelt prayers I can remember.
We sat by our friends Tom and Jean during sacrament meeting. Afterwards I went to the Relief Society room to help handout gift bags. The sisters were sent an email this week asking them to pick up gift bags for those they minister to. We should have had Brother Goodman announce a reminder in sacrament meeting but we didn't and as a result we did not get very many bags given away.
Before going home James and I took a gift bag to Tanna Conrad. She came out to get it as she always does. She does not want us to come into her house.
I made shredded beef tacos for lunch. They were soooo good! Afterwards it was rest time and then James and I watched the movie, "Love, Lights and Hannukah". It was a good movie about Christmas and Hannukah and how an adopted woman finds her birth family. It was appropriate that Ancestry was one of the sponsors for the movie.
I blogged for last Monday and Tuesday and then we did our Zoom family study with Kim and Brian. Everyone else was busy. Kacey and Jared had Summer and Tanner over for a Thanksgiving dinner.
Brian gave a talk in church today about hope. Kim read it to us and it was great! We had a good discussion and then Kim told us about a meteor shower that starts tonight.
James did some of his ministering interviews tonight. He found out that the Skousen's have Covid. We also watched the movie, "Christmas Comes Twice" about an astronomer (how appropriate) goes back in time and has a chance to change the future.
for dessert.
