"The Melchizedek Priesthood and the Keys"
The principle that priesthood authority can be exercised only under the direction of the one who holds the keys for that function is fundamental in the Church, but this does not apply in the family. For example, a father presides and exercises the priesthood in his family by the authority of the priesthood he holds. He has no need to have the direction or approval of one holding priesthood keys in order to perform his various family functions. These include counseling the members of his family, holding family meetings, giving priesthood blessings to his wife and children, or giving healing blessings to family members or others. Church authorities teach family members but do not direct the exercise of priesthood authority in the family.

Anthony and the missionaries helped James work on the fence this morning.
As part of my gospel study this morning I read from "Hear Him" A Study Guide On Personal Revelation. Week 3 is Aligning Our Will with God's. This is what President Nelson says:
"Pray in the name of Jesus Christ about your concerns, your fears, your weaknesses-- yes, the very longings of your heart. And then listen! Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings and follow through with actions that you are prompted to take. As you repeat this process day after day, month after month, year after year, you will grow into the principle of revelation."
2 Nephi 4:35
Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto...my God.
I put the roast in the crockpot this morning at 8 a.m. It is supposed to cook on low for 8 hours. I also started the Rhodes rolls and then went back to working on putting books in my inventory for my next shipment. It feels as if textbook season has already started. In the last 30 days my product sales are $2,388.00. It's the most exciting time of the year for the textbook business!
I had a burger for lunch and James had beans. We both had some fried zucchini. James took my two merchant fulfilled book orders to the post office and then went to town for some more fence posts. I did not get any books at our post office but Sheri says I have six at her house. After ordering the whiteboard which was delivered to her house, I forgot to change the address back to Vernon, so for a couple of days all of my orders went to Chandler.
This afternoon I made mashed potatoes and put them in a crockpot to keep them warm. I also made some Rice Krispy treats because Cammy says they are her favorite. I cooked frozen corn in the microwave and then put the corn in another crockpot. I'm glad I have three. I also made a salad. I tried one of the rolls and they are delicious.
Brother Mayfield came over to give Luna some new shoes this afternoon. He got the two front ones on when it started to rain. He immediately left. He said he was afraid of lightning because he got hit one time. As soon as he left it stopped raining. He will be back another day to finish shoeing Luna.
James and I delivered dinner to the Grapp's. The entire family was outside, including the new baby. Liana was holding the baby, Malea. The baby has dark hair and is so cute. She slept the entire times we were there.
Tildy grabbed the mashed potatoes from me and said how much she loved mashed potatoes and gravy. I was haunted by those potatoes the rest of the night, thinking they weren't very good. James said they were but I didn't agree. I decided in the middle of the night that I would buy some more potatoes tomorrow and make them up and take them over to replace these. I really am a little paranoid.
