Jesus Christ, Lord
John 20:2
Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciples, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
Book of Mormon/"Come Follow Me"
Helaman 6
The righteous Lamanites preach to the wicked Nephites - Both peoples prosper during an ear of peace and plenty - Lucifer, the author of sin, stirs up the hearts of the wicked and the Gadianton robbers in murder and wickedness - The robbers take over the Nephite government. About 29-23 B.C.
April General Conference
"A Perfect Brightness of Hope"
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
We all need to believe that what we desire in righteousness can someday, someway, somehow yet be ours.... If we lose hope, we lose our last sustaining possession. ... We did not come this far only to come this far.
I sent Ben DC 93:1 this morning. Afterwards I listened to Emily and Rio on Inklings Institute where they discussed Elder Holland's talk, "A Perfect Brightness of Hope" which just happened to be on my schedule to read today. The topic was hope and joy. We also studied Romans 4:16-22 which talks about the hope Abraham and Sarah had when the Lord told them Sarah would conceive a child. I love these two sisters and learn so much from them. Rio also has her own website, Work and a Wonder. They have published General Conference workbooks and I ordered one at Emily's recommendation. We shall see if I like it or not.
James spent the morning working on my car. He thinks it needs a new starter so he took the starter out and went to town to get another one. He put the new starter in and had me come out to try and start the car, but nada. It is not the starter. Now he has to take the starter out and try and take it back. It cost $160. All this time he has been talking back and forth on the phone to Erik. Erik thinks it's a head gasket and doesn't know if it's worth fixing...what? Not fix Lexy? No way. We're fixing her. I told James and he told Erik and Erik said he would arrange a time to come up and do the job. Thanks Erik, that's more like it.
I soaked a pot of beans all day and then put them in the crockpot with an 8 ounce can of tomato sauce, El Pato, and Rotelle, a cube of butter, some sugar and salt and turned it on low for the night. Tomorrow morning they will be finished cooking and I will put them in the refrigerator to marinate a few hours before we eat them. It is honestly James's favorite meal and it is inexpensive, and quite healthy. I do skim the butter off after the beans marinate.
I finished studying the "Come Follow Me" lesson for the week. Honestly, Helaman 5 is one of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon. Such great missionary power of Lehi and Nephi.
Camrie married Darren today at the Snowflake temple. Five people were allowed in to the ceremony. This evening there was a celebration at the Hunsaker Ranch in Vernon. I love Camrie and have been so impressed with her attitude since the birth of her last baby, which will be three years in December, when her first husband admitted he was unfaithful and wanted a divorce. Can you imagine coming home from the hospital with a new baby to that news? At that time she lived in Springerville and immediately she moved back to Vernon and lived near her parents who helped take care of her and her three children. She spoke one time in sacrament meeting about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and the importance of forgiveness. I was so impressed. She has truly forgiven her first husband. She has struggled for the past three years and finally went online and met Darren who lives in Midland, Texas. Darren has never been married. Her children love him and call him D. Here are some photos. I wanted to go to this but James was elbow deep in the front of my car and we both needed haircuts. We didn't go and I guess we missed a great time.
Camrie's story so well!
we minister to, had her baby today.
A boy they named Bradley.
