Jesus Christ, Light of the World
3 Nephi 15:9
Behold, I am the law, and the light. Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live; for unto him that endureth to the end will I give eternal life.
Book of Mormon/"Come Follow Me"
Alma 54 - Ammoron and Moroni negotiate for the exchange of prisonsers - Moroni demands that the Lamanites withdraw and cease their murderous attacks - Ammoron demands that the Nephites lay down their arms and become subject to the Lamanites.
Alma 55 - Moroni refuses to exchange prisonsers - The Lamanite guards are enticed to become drunk, and the Nephite prisoners are freed - The city of Gid is taken without bloodshed.

Few of us have an experience as dramatic as Alma's, yet our transformation can be equally profound. The Savior pledged anciently:
"A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart ... , and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit with in. ... And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God."

James and I had family prayer before he left this morning for the valley. He always calls or texts me when he arrives safely.

I wanted to share something from my "Hear Him" book that I read this morning:
"Our Father in Heaven knew that in mortality we would face challenges, tribulation, and turmoil; He knew we would wrestle with questions, disappointments, temptations, and weaknesses. To give us mortal strength and divine guidance, He provided the Holy Spirit, another name for the Holy Ghost."
-Elder Ronald A. Rasband, Led by Divine Design, 4

After finishing catching up on my blog I went outside on the front porch and planted the petunias I got for the pots in the corners of the porch. I still have enough potting soil to plant in the empty planters on the back patio but I need to buy more flowers. So far I have all purple flowers. When I go back, I need to get some different colors, maybe.

I made Rice Krispy treats to send to Ben today. He only has a few more weeks to serve and I want him to have the energy to endure to the end. I also sent Autumn a graduation card and mailed the two books I sold merchant fulfilled. At the post office I picked up four books that I had ordered. The post office is deinitely the hub of activity here in Vernon. I guess you could say the post office and the library.

I tried to buy my three books for the day but I couldn't find any good deals. I did buy one book and then I was tired of looking at the computer and decided to walk instead. I finished my audio book, "The Enemy Between Us," and started another book, "CopyCat." I've decided that Deseret Book Plus needs to add some more proper romances to their audio library.

When I went out to feed Luna this evening she was by the driveway. She followed me back to her corral and I gave her a can of feed and locked the corral door behind me. When James got home he asked me if I fed her some hay and took her mask off. Oops. He got out of bed and went out and took her mask off so she wouldn't have to wear it all night. There are no flies buzzing around at night.

James got home after dark. I was working on my Book of Mormon Study Guide but stopped to read to him from "Aunt Dimity and the Widow's Curse." We only have a couple of more chapters to go. He brought home my new whiteboard and he also delivered Joshua's birthday gift directly to Joshua.

We were in bed before ten but sleep did not come easily. James had a cough and I was restless as I normally am at night.
