Jesus Christ, Lord

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

Although many people indeed believe in Jesus Christ, the key question is whether we believe Him and whether we believe the things that He teaches us and asks us to do. Perhaps someone might think, "What does Jesus Christ know about what is happening to me? How does He know what I need to be happy?" Truly, it was our Redeemer and Intercessor to whom the prophet Isaiah was referring when he said: "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief. . . . Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows. . . . But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:3-5).

Today is Charlie's second birthday. She is such a blessing to our entire family. What a bright, loving, little girl she is. I wish we lived closer so we could see her more often. I am grateful to Kacey and how she shares Charlie's life with us through pictures and posts.

Today was a day of service for me. My friend Kerri is in the valley having tests done so she can get on a kidney transplant list. She asked me before she left if I would check in on her mom, Catherine.  I picked up Catherine and took her to lunch at Denny's in Show Low today. Catherine does not wear a mask because she can't breathe when she has it on. I told her I would not wear one either so, the rebels that we are, she 86 and me 72, went into Denny's with no masks. Everyone else we saw had one but no one said a word to us.

We each ordered a half order of loaded nachos and a Caesar side salad. The nachos proved to be too much for us and we had to take most of them home. Catherine loves to talk and I think we covered just about every topic imaginable. She is a Trump lover and had to tell me all about the Republican National Convention. I told her I had it taped and would watch it tonight and then watch tonight's finale afterwards.

After Denny's we went to Safeway and I picked up a couple of Caesar's bagged salads since I am taking dinner to Tanna this evening. I am also going to order them a pizza. Catherine suggested I get the pizza from Stanford because she said their's are delicious. We shall see.

It was raining at Catherine's when I dropped her off. She insisted I come inside so she could give me directions as to what to do with strawberries to make them last longer. I gave Catherine a hug when I left and told her I loved her. She responded with the same to me.

I stopped at the post office before going home but we had no mail. It was not raining by the time I got to our house. Disappointing but that's how it is around here. It rains in spots. Today was not our spots turn.

It was after 2 when I arrived home. I was going to sit down and relax so I turned on the Republican Convention which I had taped last night. James and I really got in to it. The speakers were heartfelt as they told their stories. The theme was America, a land of heroes. Before I realized it, it was time to order the pizza to take to Tanna and Travis.

I ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza from Dominoes, some cheesy bread, two salads, and two chocolate lava cakes. I also ordered us a large thin crust veggie pizza, James's favorite. He asked why I ordered us a pizza when we could have just eaten beans. He then wound up eating over 2/3's of the pizza I ordered for us.

Tanna, Travis, and another man, and baby Bradley, were waiting for us as we drove up to their place. I took a picture of Tanna and the baby and they kept thanking us for the food.

I am sure Tanna will be a good mother. I
wish that she and Travis would get married.

The rest of the evening James and I watched the last night of the convention and heard President Trump speak until he was cut off by the end of our taping. James was really in to it and we both agree that he has accomplished a great deal in his first four years. I walked and blogged while I was watching.

Stacy, Paul, and Joshua are coming up tomorrow night.

Happy 2nd Birthday Charlie!

I love Kodiak cakes and strawberries, and burritos too!
