2 Nephi 23:1-22
While we might be living in "Zion" do you still stream content from "Babylon," shop from their clothing line, or weave their teachings into "Zion's" gospel?  How else might we have a foot in "Babylon"?
Alma 12
Alma speaks to Zeezrom - The mysteries of God can be given only to the faithful - Men are judged by their thoughts, beliefs, words, and works - The wicked will suffer a spiritual death - This mortal life is a probationary state - The plan of redemption brings to pass the Resurrection and, through faith, a remission of sins - The repentant have a claim on mercy through the Only Begotten Son.
DC 35:13-27
13-16, The Lord's servants will thresh the nations by the power of the Spirit; 17-19, Joseph Smith holds the keys of the mysteries; 20-21, The elect will abide the day of the Lord's coming; 22-27, Israel will be saved.

Preach My Gospel - My Purpose As a Missionary - Helping Others Make Commitments: The Door to Faith and Repentance

James and I left for the valley around 9:30 this morning.  Here are the stops we made: Vernon post office, Dr. Moffat's in Lakeside, gas, carwash, and Arby's in Show Low.  Of course we went the Globe way so we could stop at Burger House.  We ordered 17 burros before leaving Show Low and told them when we would be there.  I am so glad we ordered ahead because the line was out the door.  The reason we ordered so many burros was because we ordered four for Kim and Brian and two for Sheri and Ian.  The other 11 were for Terry, Cathi, James, and I.  Can you tell we really like them?

The Wave, Arizona

We made it to Dr. Allen's in Mesa on Power and Baseline right at my appointment time, 1:45.  My appointment was with Ruth Hoskins the PA.  Before she came in the girl who took my blood pressure and weighed me ask me some really weird questions: "Count from 20 backwards.  Count from December backwards and who is the President of the United States and what day is it.  It sounded like a psychological evaluation to me.  All this for thyroid and hormone pills?  Maybe they were checking for Alzheimer's since I'm an Oldtimer.

When I got to Cathi and Terry's I took a two hour nap.  They weren't home when we first got there because they had taken the dogs to see the vet.  Indy just had seven teeth pulled and it was time for a post op checkup.
When Cathi got home she convinced me that I should ask for nitrous oxide gas tomorrow while they pull my tooth.  I told her I would.  I am a little worried about whether or not they will do my infusion on Friday since I will be on an antibiotic after the tooth extraction.  I would call the arthritis office but I would not be able to speak to a real person anyway so I will take my chances.

This evening James and I went to visit with his mom and sister Dawn.  This was Lois's project for February:
Making Christmas stockings for Gail's grandkids.

These are just a few.  She made over 20.

One of my favorites because it is purple.
This picture doesn't do it justice.

Speaking of Gail's family:
Gail on the right and Aaron's son Beckham on the left.

Dawn gave me a real microscope she bought for $10 at a store for teacher's.  She also gave me some slides and then showed me some slides I could order.  Thank you Dawn!

We had a nice visit and even called Gail to see if he would be coming down anytime soon.  It sounds like he is too busy.  Lois wants to plan a time for all of her children and their spouses to go out to dinner.  For refreshments we had some delicious brownies.

When we got back to Terry and Cathi's I had a burro and then before going to bed I read to James from The Seven Tipping Points That Saved the World.

Fun Photos

My favorite is the self-portrait Evan drew on
the lower right.

I LOVE this baby picture of Molly!!
I almost missed seeing the green chick by her legs.

Happy 88th Birthday to my Aunt Gene,
my dad's only sibling.  I love her!

I was going to go home today to get my visiting teaching done, but James talked me in to staying. While he was at work I drove to Dr. Allen's on Baseline and Power Rd. to pick up my thyroid pills.
I also went to visit Trina and Lola.  Trina took me to see the house they are buying.  It is near Ray and Signal Butte in the new Eastmark subdivision.

The subdivision is amazing with five parks and other recreational facilities and two schools.  Darrel and Trina have a nice view of the Superstition Mountain out the upstairs window.
Trina is very excited about the house.  It should close either on the 30th or 31st of this month.
 Trina and Lola
Lola trying out the new carpet.

Even though it sounds like it is a long ways out, the 202 goes right to it.  It only took me about 20 minutes to get back to Cathi and Terry's.
James was home waiting for me to go to lunch.  We were going to use our gift card and go to Black Angus but it isn't open for lunch so we went to Firebirds.  James and I both got appetizers for our entree's.  He had the crab cakes with tortilla slaw and mango habernero chutney and I had coconut shrimp with tortill slaw and mango habernero chutney.  I got five shrimp and he only got two crab cakes.
Coconut shrimp
We also had two small loaves of their sourdough bread.  It is so delicious!  Firebirds is one of my favorite places to have lunch.

After lunch we went home to take a nap.

Joshua got a haircut today.  Doesn't he look handsome?
He looks alot like Dallin.
Cathi and Terry got home a little late this evening because they went to pick Colin up.  Colin was very happy when he got here.  He came in and said hello to both James and I and then went to eat his chocolate donut with sprinkles.

This evening James and I went to Black Angus for dinner to use the gift card Kim and Brian got us for Christmas.  We both had the six ounce filet mignon and it was delicious!  I had a salad and mashed potatoes for my sides and James had steak soup and green beans.  We certainly ate well today!

When we returned to Cathi and Terry's, Dave and Laura were there visiting.  We joined them, the six of us sitting around the dining room table.  Colin preferred sitting on the couch, although he wanted Cathi to be with him.
We told Laura about project Ethiopia.  She came up with the suggestion that James should make it his Eagle Project.  I thought that was a great idea so I told Jared.  He liked it too.

I didn't get to watch "DWTS" tonight.  Sheri and Kim both had FHE first.

Merry Christmas from the Ray's:
Laurie, Brennan, Taylor, Kaylie,
Adam and Moose (Logan.)
I picked up Sheri from Erik's this morning and took her to work.  Erik is working on her car.  Afterwards I went to Sonic and got a drink for myself and Cathi.
James did some work for Susan Jacobson this morning.  Terry and Cathi went grocery shopping.  I had an appointment at Dr. Allen's at 11.  I met with him and went over my lab results.  He upped my thyroid to 3 1/2 grains a day.  I got my hormone prescriptions renewed.
On the way home I went to Deseret Book and Target.  I ended up having to go back to Deseret Book because I forgot the calendars I was going to buy.  I also went to Walmart and found another Star Wars blanket.  Now I have one for Joshua, Evan, and Rowan.
James had an In-N-Out burger for dinner.  I wasn't hungry.  I had a sandwich from Target earlier.
Cathi and I wrap presents and watch Christmas movies.  James watches our movies with us.  Wrapping blankets is rather tiresome.

This evening I went with James to do a little work at the doctor's office he has been working on at Chandler Blvd. and McClintock.

I want my road to look like this.

"Decisions of character are made by remembering the right order of the first and second great commandments."
-Matthew 22:37-39
Elder Lynn G. Robins

We left at 5:30 this morning for the valley and I was ready on time!  We went the Globe way because James says it is faster, and I am beginning to agree with him.  I had my red neck pillow and our book so I slept and read most of the way.  Pinky pillow is leaking and must be tossed.  We stopped at the Circle K on Signal Butte in Apache Junction for a potty break and some snacks: a diet Dr. Pepper and a tuna sandwich to share with James.

I took James to Chandler and we unloaded the car and then I drove back to Power & Baseline for my appointment with Dr. Allen.  I have to come back fasting so they can take my bloodwork.  Hopefully I can do that this week before we go home.

Back to Chandler.  We have a lunch date with Sheri to go to Carolina's mexican food in Phoenix because we have heard how good it is.  When Sheri got off work she went straight to Urgent Care because she has an ear ache.  We waited because when we go with Sheri she does all the driving.  Here we are at Carolina's:
It's definitely in the hood so it must be authentic.
 Waiting to place our order.
Sheri enjoying her lunch.
James doing what he does best...talking on the phone.
I had a taco that was good but a little greasy.  I also had a bean burro that was delicious.  James liked his mixed green burro.  We also got some tortillas to take home but I didn't think they were any better than El Sol's in Chandler.

This evening I went to see the new Disney movie Big Hero Six with Darrel and Trina and all the kids.  Lola was great!  I got to sit by Ruby and Addy.
Lola is ready for the movie.
James was going to come too but he had to go home and get the truck and trailer ready for our trip to Bakersfield, California tomorrow to pick up an underground storage tank for the Hatch job.
After the movie was over Darrel's family gave me a ride home.  The only sad thing was that Addy said she felt sick, otherwise it was a fun evening.
