Missionary Work: Sharing What Is in Your Heart
"During this past year, I have had the exciting opportunity to be deeply involved with the worldwide missionary activities of the Church. I have often pondered and prayed about the Savior's great commission to His disciples - us, His children - to "go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." I invite you to ponder that same question in your heart and mind."

There was a piece of cinnamon pizza for everyone for breakfast this morning.

After breakfast James got the girls involved and they cleaned the large window in the family room.

There were fingerprints all over the window,
most of them probably Lola's. She kept tellling
everyone to be careful and not get the window
dirty because we just cleaned it.

Thank goodness for Addy. She did Lola's hair and got her ready to go to the birthday party. We dropped Lola off at the party and then came back and got Rowan and took him to someone's house for an Eagle project. After we dropped Rowan off Ruby, James and I headed for Tempe to see James's mom. We forgot that the 202 was closed and got in the biggest traffic jam. We went south instead of north and it took us about 30 minutes longer than it should have to get there.

We had a nice visit with Lois who sat in her chair with her left foot resting on the ottoman at the end of her chair. James offered to plant the miniature purple petunia plant we got her but she said no, she would have Dawn do it later.

I think grandpa is fixing Ruby's braid.

We couldn't stay too long because we had to get back to pick up Lola from her party and Rowan from his activity. Lola's party was a superhero party. The name of the girl who had the party, Scarlett Child. She is the second Scarlett Child we know. Her dad introduced himself to me and said that he went to high school with Brian Horak. It's a small world. I guess he had talked to Darrel and knew Kim was married to Brian.

This is Scarlett. She loves Wonder Woman.

This is Supergirl Lola!
She loved her pink cape!

When we picked up Rowan he told us about the Eagle project that he helped with. They were working on the computer to map out areas in a third world country of places for people to go to in order to get out of a flood plain.

We all had leftover pizza for lunch and relaxed for a couple of hours this afternoon until Rowan's friend called and asked if he could come over and go swimming. This friends house was directly across the street from where he went to help with the Eagle project.

James left to go to Kim's to finish up in the laundry room. It was just me and the girls at home. We decided to go to Cane's to get some chicken and lemonade. Lola said she was just going to eat fries and drink lemonade and that's exactly what she did. She likes Chikfila because they have smaller pieces of chicken and they have ice cream. We ordered some chicken to take home for James and Rowan.

I texted Trina and told her to tell me when they left L.A. She texted back and said they were less than four hours from home and we could go home if we wanted. I went and got Rowan because Addy left to go babysit and I didn't want to leave Ruby and Lola alone.
James and I ended up leaving at 6 pm and we got home before 9.
Darrel and Trina got home around the same time. Everyone is where they are supposed to be once again.

After we finished unloading the car and putting everything away we watched part of the new Hallmark movie, "Paris, Wine, and Romance." We did not finish the movie and went to bed around 11.
I walked 10,154 steps today.

Oh dear. She looks so guilty.

Somebody loves pickles!

Darrel, Trina, Lexy, Bryce, Lacey, and Westley
at Fossil Creek.
Trina left early to meet Darrel, and her brothers and their wives in Payson.  They spent the day swimming and hiking at Fossil Creek and had a great time.  In the mean time, back in Vernon, Addy was in charge of babysitting.
Rowan, it's okay, she's a good babysitter.
She changed four soiled diapers today and definitely earned her money!
One of the first things we did was go on a Razr ride to the creek on forest road 404.  The first thing Lola did was step in the mud.
Her pink tennis shoe turned black and had to be washed.

When we returned from our ride it was time to say goodbye to Dallin and Claire.
Heading in to Show Low for lunch at Pizza Factory,
and then home.  I really enjoyed getting to meet Claire.

We played with balloons and bubbles and celebrated Ruby's birthday we a tea party.
Lola was a tea party rebel.  She wanted to sit by herself.
She is showing us one of the mini cupcakes Claire made.
Rowan was a bit of a rebel because he would not
put his pinky finger up while drinking from his teacup.

Ruby and I went on a Razr ride to pick up the mail from the post office.  She wanted to ride in the front earlier, but Addy had Lola on her lap so Ruby didn't get to.  I told her I would take her on a ride all by herself.

A fire started this afternoon on the reservation about 10-15 miles on the other side of Show Low at Cedar Creek.  They closed the 60 and Show Low is on a pre-evacuation notice.  I called Trina just so she would be aware.  She shouldn't have a problem because she is on the 260 coming from Payson.

Lola in disguise

When Trina got home I took Addy, Ruby, and Rowan for a Razr ride.  Rowan's favorite animal is an antelope so I thought I would take them up by Gillespie Flat and see if we could see any.  I am driving along when all of a sudden Rowan says from the back seat:
"A bear."  Sure enough on the ride side of the road standing on his hind legs next to a tree was a black bear.  It would have been awesome to get a picture, but I was afraid to stop.  I guess seeing a bear is as good as seeing an antelope.

That entire "cloud" is smoke from the fire.
