Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son
Moses 5:9
And in that day the Holy Ghost fell upon Adam, which beareth record of the Father and the Son, saying: I am the Only Begotten of the Father from the beginning, henceforth and forever, that as thou hast fallen thou mayest be redeemed, and all mankind, even as many as will.

As we gather to hear the words the Lord has inspired His servants to deliver, I invite you to ponder a promise the Lord made. He declared that "whosoever will may lay hold upon the word of God, which is quick and powerful, which shall divide asunder all the cunning . . . and the wiles of the devil, and lead the disciple of Christ in a strait and narrow course."

'We Will Prove Them Herewith'
Elder David A. Bednar
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
The process of proving ourselves is a fundamental part of Heavenly Father's great plan of happiness. I promise that as we both prepare and press forward with faith in the Savior, we all can receive the same grade on the ultimate examination of mortality: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."

He was the Firstborn of the Father, the Only Begotten Son in the flesh, the Redeemer of the world.

We got the White Mountain Stake indexing totals for February this morning. We had the second highest amount of individuals indexed, just behind the Rainbow Lake ward. They had 45,000 and we had 41,000. We were pretty excited! I know it's not supposed to be about numbers, and it's not a competition,  but when the stake asks you to do a certain amount and you far exceed that amount I think it's okay to feel good about what you are doing. Way to go Vernonites!

James and I began studying D&C 20-22 this morning together. I am also listening to Brother Halverson whose YouTube lesson is three hours long this week. Whew.

The shepherd's pie I made for lunch turned out delicious. James said it was definitely a comfort food.

Nothing fancy

When our kids were young Sandy, David's first wife, shared a recipe with me for hamburger pie. It was quite similar. The inside had hamburger, onions, and green beans with a tomato soup sauce and it was topped with mashed potatoes. It was a family favorite.

After lunch and rest time I made a trip to town to get some birthday cards and gifts for Sandra and Trenda Wilhelm, Catherine Halcomb, and Jean Howard. All of these people have birthdays this month.
Trenda is not in our ward I love her and wanted to get her a birthday gift. Her birthday is on March 1st and her mom's is on March 2nd.
This is Trenda and her husband Emery:

I made a quick trip in to Walmart for gift bags, colored tissue paper, birthday cards, and lotion and soap or body spray.

After I was finished at Walmart I headed for Dairy Queen to get a couple of boxes of cherry Dilly bars. 12 bars cost $21.60.  I am taking Dilly bars to the Grapp's and they are showing me their new flop eared bunnies.

When I arrived at the turn in to the Grapp's, I noticed several family members gathered around the fence where Thomas was working. I stopped. Benson said that a drunk had run into their fence and knocked it down and didn't even tell anyone. Benson, Emsley, Leland, Cammy and Malea all rode up to the house with me.

When Benson got his Dilly bar he said, yummm, this is sweet, just like you Sister Lambson. Such a charmer.

When Emsley got out of the car she shut the door in Leland's face and somehow he hurt his finger. He began crying and wouldn't let me comfort him but wanted his mom. I took Malea so Cammy could comfort Leland. She is such a sweet, calm baby and didn't mind that I was holding her, although she did keep looking at my face. I guess she was trying to figure out who I was.

Liana was holding her rabbit, Snickers, the only boy of the three. Emsley and Tildy were out at the cage trying to catch their rabbits. When they finally came in they each insisted that I hold their rabbit. Tildy has several scratches from her rabbit, Dixie, and Emsley has ha few. I guess Liana's rabbit is the most tame. I think, Kisses, Emsley rabbit might be my favorite. Half of her mouth is white and half is black making it look like someone had given her kisses.

On my way home I got a text from Cammy:
"You are so thoughtful! We sure love you! Thank you so much!"

I home I needed to relax a few minutes before it was time to go next door to the Crane's for our "Come Follow Me" discussion. Everyone attended except the Peeler's who had a doctor's appointment in the valley and then were staying the night at their daughter Serena's in Globe.

We took a vote and everyone, with the exception of the Peeler's, thought they would like to try meeting on Sunday evenings instead of Monday. If we do this we will be at the end of the study week instead of at the beginning on Monday. Everyone seems to think that the Peeler's will agree to Sunday.
