"The Gospel Light of Truth and Love"
Elder Alan R. Walker
Of the Seventy
I testify that the gospel light of truth and love shines brightly throughout the earth today. The "marvelous work and a wonder" foretold by the prophet Isaiah and seen by Nephi is taking place at a hastened pace, even in these challenging times. As Joseph Smith prophetically declared, "The Standard of Truth has been erected; no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing . . . till the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done."

We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
Happy 26th Anniversary to Kim and Brian. Last weekend they went to San Diego to put their toes in the sand. Today they went to the Gilbert Temple and did a session and then went to lunch. What a great way to celebrate your anniversary!
While listening to "Follow Him" for this week's "Come Follow Me" lesson Brother Rogers told a story of a baby who was allowed to come in to the dedication. The baby never made a peep until it was time for the Hosanna Shout. The baby shouted the Hosanna Shout three times along with everyone else. Amazing. This was a four hour meeting.
As we read the dedicatory prayer of the Kirtland Temple I decided that this prayer alone was enough to convince me that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. It is amazing and I am going to spend time numbering all of the promises he requested for the people. So far I have 33 written down, thanks to Emily.
James came in after using the tractor out in the backyard and told me he had broken a gas line. Since our range is gas and I was in the middle of cutting up vegetables for my veggie soup, I was a little concerned. He went back outside and came back in a few minutes later and said we had gas in the kitchen and this side of the house.
Not hot water on the other side of the house which means no showers except for the upstairs shower near our offices, the one that leaks.
James went to town to get some diesel, and supplies to fix the gasline and the water faucet. I stayed here and finished Collection 7 which is season 2019. Dave, Alice and Steph are the final 3. I wanted Alice to win but Dave did the best final showstopper so he ended up winning. They all had to make illusion cakes with items you would serve at a picnic. His cake peaches looked so real!
This morning I chatted with someone at Dishnetwork about getting the GAC (Great American Country) channel on my satellite. The guy tells me that if I sign up for America's Top 250 I can get it and it will only cost me $155 a month. First of all, I don't need 250 channels for the little amount of TV I watch and second, that is way over my budget for TV. He then said there was something called a Flex package and they could add on GAC but they would have to send me a new smart card. When I started to give him my post office number he said, Oh, I'm sorry, we can't send to a post office box number. I told him that's where I got my mail and I wasn't sure it would be delivered at my physical address but I gave it to him anyway. If it doesn't come soon, I will have it sent to Sheri's house.
I started cleaning out my closet today. Cleaning out closets is one of my goals for this year and I am finally getting started. I started with a box by the door and went through everything in the box, putting items in three different boxes, give away, throw away, and put away. This is going to take awhile but it's about time that I went through the boxes of papers, etc. that I have in every closet.
I made lemon poppy seed baby cakes out of a muffin mix I've had in the pantry for a long time. James likes lemon and poppy seed. They went well with the lemon frosting I bought and eating a baby cake is not nearly as bad as eating an entire muffin. Of course if you eat five it's probably worse.
This evening while I was walking I finished my audio book, "An Unlikely Pair" and started "The Road to Bountiful." James and I started "The Lady and the Highwayman" by one of our favorite authors, Sarah M. Eden.
Today we did not get any rain and we had plenty of sunshine.
