"Why the Covenant Path"
Elder D. Todd Christofferson
Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
With the ordinances and covenants, "the power of godliness is manifest" in our lives.(D&C 84:20)
God provides an almost incomprehensible gift to help covenant-makers be covenant-keepers: the gift of the Holy Ghost.
There is a weekly gathering of the covenant people to the house of prayer on the Lord's day, that we may "more fully keep ourselves unspotted from the world." (D&C 59:9)

We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
I fed Luna this morning. She was ready and I wasn't moving fast enough for her so she began pawing the ground. I wanted to wear my Tinkerbell sweatshirt but I could not find it. I am a little concerned.
When I came back in I did my gospel study. I read from Helaman in the Book of Mormon and then read D&C 109:1-44, the first half of the dedicatory prayer of the Kirtland temple. I looked up online the dedicatory prayer for the Snowflake temple. It was given by President Hinckley on 3 March 2002, six months after 9/11. I would like to quote a paragraph from the prayer:
We pray for this nation of which we are part. In this time of national sorrow, bring peace and comfort to those who mourn. Preserve the freedom of the people. May the blessings of liberty rest upon its citizens. Bless those who lead and inspire them in their endeavors that righteousness may grow, that the people may look to Thee, and that this nation, under God, may continue as a base from which Thy work may spread throughout the earth.
I did some cleaning today, worked on my blog, listened to Follow Him, and re-watched some of the episodes of TGBBS Collection 7, 2019 while I was on the computer. While walking I listened to my audio book, "An Unlikely Pair" by Traci Hunter Abramson. All in all it was quite a relaxing day with no pressing appointments or responsibilities.
I did get this text from Tamara, the Relief Society president, to all the members of the presidency:
Good Morning Sisters!
Elders Quorum was bragging at ward council that they are going to reach 100% with their ministering interviews. We are at 61% collectively, even though Karen already reached 100% - Congratulations! I have 5 sisters to reach out to - 2 of which already aren't getting back with me. Let's see what we can do over the next few days - don't know if we'll reach 100% but it would be great to come close.
I wrote back:
What has worked for me is to do one interview a week beginning the first month of the quarter. I try to make contact on Sunday but if I can't get the sister on Sunday I try during the week so by the next Sunday I am ready to go to the second interview. Since there are 13 weeks in a quarter and I have 13 companionships, it works well.
James made it home today, but it wasn't until 9 p.m. He took the longer route through Miami so he could pick up burros at Burger House. He said he ordered them at 7:30 on the road and when he got there it was 8. The door was opened for him but they close at 7:30. It was so nice of them to take his order! The cook/owner says he gets up at 2 a.m. to start cooking for the next day. Now I love Burger House even more than I did before. Now I can look forward to a green chili mixed burro for breakfast tomorrow!
Charlie's playing with the truck and front loader
and Scarlett is fixing dinner.
That's about right.
All of Karin's friends, including me,
told her she should tell her story in
a book, and now she has!

I loved Doris Day movies
Too bad Hallmark wouldn't
give it to her.
