"Light Cleaveth Unto Light"
Elder Timothy J. Dyches
Of the Seventy
Because "light cleaveth unto light," the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost will lead you to make choices that will tend to keep you in the light; conversely, choices made without the Holy Ghost's influence will tend to lead you into shadows and darkness. Elder Robert D. Hales taught: "When light is present, darkness is vanquished and must depart. . . . When the spiritual light of the Holy Ghost is present, the darkness of Satan departs.

In humility, we declare that in answer to his prayer, God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph and inaugurated the "restitution of all things" (Acts 3:21) as foretold in the Bible. In this vision, he learned that following the death of the original Apostles, Christ's New Testament Church was lost from the earth. Joseph would be instrumental in its return.
James and I had prayer early this morning before he left to go to the temple.
I got a text from Addy this morning. She thanked me for her birthday card and said that she loved me. Addy is 17 years old today.
I worked on my blog for over an hour this morning. I finally finished last Saturday. As I was finishing there was a knock on the door. It took me awhile to get there, but I'm glad I did because it was Owen Taylor. He brought back a trailer he borrowed from James. He and his wife Tina are building a house up here. I asked how he liked living up here and he said, "Oh, we love it!" Owen has been such a good friend for such a long time. I wish he still worked for James because he is so dependable and responsible. His brother Danny passed away a year or so ago and Owen is taking his old job with APS. He said the pay is not good, but the retirement is awesome. Owen is the kind of person who will always have a job.
A little while after Owen left, James came home from Snowflake. He brought lunch from Aliberto's. I had ordered a shredded beef taco and a bean burro. Aliberto's forgot to put my bean burro in the bag. James called them and they apologized and said his name was on the board and he could come and pick it up anytime. I was a little disappointed. James heated me up a frozen burrito instead. James is extra sweet after being in the temple all morning.
After lunch I took a nap. I watched some of "The Great British Baking Show", and read from my two books, "God Will Prevail" chapter 7 Restoration of the Covenant and the Gathering of Israel, and "The MindBody Toolkit." Tool #5 is, Ask Better Questions. "Questions provide the key to unlocking our unlimited potential." - Tony Robbins.
When James got up from his nap we read from "Cecelia's Celebration." It is a beautiful day today.
I called Sister Bartels and told her what her ministering assignment was. She is so excited to be a ministering sister. I then worked on my blog posting for last Sunday, August 22nd.
James fixed dinner, summer squash and onions stirfry. Very tasty. We then watched the new Hallmark show, "Sweet Pecan Summer" starring Wes Brown. I feel like my body is healing quickly.
Our neighbor, Sister Crane, has her sister staying with her while she waits to move into her new house in Texas. This sister has a grandson, a Marine, who is stuck in Afghanistan. Kathy asked James to put his name on the temple prayer roll, which he did.
