Jesus Christ Atonement through
Romans 5:11
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

"What good does it do to save the world if we neglect the needs of those closest to us and those whom we love the most? How much value is there in fixing the world if the people around us are falling apart and we don't notice. Heavenly Father may have placed those who need us closest to us, knowing that we are best suited to meet their needs."

I felt better today. I worked on the tree for awhile and then decided to wait until after our trip to the valley to finish. I may find some ribbon I like better at Costco or Sam's Club. Instead I began wrapping blankets. I also put away my fall decorations and did my 10,000 steps.

I am better but James is worse. He worked outside in the cold all day. He poured concrete and then had to cover it in blankets.

For dinner we had pork chops, broccoli and cauliflower, and fresh pineapple. We also had some Pero while we were watching our Christmas movie and Heartland.

Kacey posted this photo today.

Scarlett at her best.

Jesus Christ Atonement through
Matthew 26:28
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Book of Mormon
Mormon 3:1-22
*Mormon loved his people in spite of their actions. What should our attitude be towards those we know who don't  keep the commandments?
When he was in the Presiding Bishopric, Bishop Glenn L. Pace admonished us to strive to emulate the love Mormon exhibited:
"This prophet had Christlike love for a fallen people. Can we be content with loving less? We must press forward with the pure love of Christ to spread the good news of the gospel. As we do so and fight the war of good against evil, light against darkness, and truth against falsehood, we must not neglect our responsibility of dressing the wounds of those who have fallen in battle." (Ensign, Nov 1990, 8-9).

James's hands are so rough and sore. The lime from the cement s causing sores on the ends of his fingers. He tried to wear gloves but somehow the cement gets inside the gloves.

I made a trip to town today to do the rest of my Thanksgiving shopping. My first stop was Safeway were I bought DP10 and a white poinsetta for my friend Pam.

I also bought some of their soup and all of my produce at Safeway and then it was on to Aliberto's for lunch.

My two tacos were a little greasy today.

Walmart was busy as usual, but not as bad as it would be if I had waited until tomorrow. I stopped to get gas and picked up a couple of packages at the post office. One of them was this book.

This is the book that James and I will be reading next.

James and I delivered cookies to the Hunsaker's this evening. Colter came out and gave us a big hug. For dinner we went home and I warmed up the broccoli cheese and the chili steak soup that I bought at Safeway. I also made chicken salad sandwiches from the roasted chicken I bought at Walmart. I am afraid that I overdosed on the broccoli cheese soup. It was delicious!

James and I watched a new Christmas movie, "A Bramble House Christmas." We also watched Heartland, "In the Cards." Peter and Lou get married and Caleb and Ashley elope.

I also watched, "A Christmas Wish," and "My Christmas Love."

Kona, Hawaii
70th operating temple
Dedicated: 23 Jan 2000
By: Gordon B. Hinckley

We were in Kona in 1998 and had no idea they were building a
temple there.

Jesus Christ, Appearances, Antemortal
2 Nephi 16:5
Then said I: Wo is unto me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips; and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of Hosts.
Helaman 16:9-25
*Why is it dangerous to depend on your own strength and on your own wisdom?
Michael: "Man is foolish and when we choose to depend on our own thoughts before the scriptures we often find 'reasons' to exempt ourselves from commandments. It's like a slow but dangerous road to becoming an apostate.
Sheri: "It's justification for unrighteous behavior."

DC 18:15-16
15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!
16 And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!

"Some of the most significant needs we can meet are within our own families, among our friends, in our wards, and in our communities."

Each month in the Ensign there is an article about teaching in the Savior's way. Today's was entitled, "An Elephant in the Classroom."

James enjoying his breakfast.

For his second breakfast he had this:

Peach Cobbler

We made another trip to town today. We stopped at LaCasita for lunch. I had the green Navajo taco. It was good but I should have order my chicken taco with refried beans. Tried and true are best.
We ordered some refried beans to take home. I am making chicken enchiladas tomorrow for Ian and Sheri and the beans will go well with them.

We also went to Walmart and Home Depot. My thyroid is on back order. I can't be without thyroid so James called Dr. Moffat for me and he called in an order for Levothyroxin. It doesn't have T4 like the Naturethroid, but it's better than nothing. We had already left before it was filled so I will have to come back tomorrow.

I read from "Petticoat Spy" coming and going. It's about the Revolutionary war. James is really getting in to it.

I cleaned upstairs for awhile but since Sheri and Ian aren't coming until tomorrow afternoon I stopped and will finish in the morning.
I came downstairs and wrote my talk for the third time.
I got my 10,000 steps in.

Scarlett Jane Child was born today.

What an amazing life.
He was a dedicated apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Addy had a concert last night. She forgot to tell me.

Memories on this date:
I get these from my computer photo file.

Ruby and I got our ears pierced, again.

I promised I would hold her hands.

She held mine too.

While she was waiting Lola picked out
something that she liked.
