Jesus Christ, Glory of
Alma 5:50
Yea, thus saith the Spirit: Repent, and ye ends of the earth, for the kingdom of heaven is soon at hand; yea, the Son of God cometh in his glory, in his might, majesty, power, and dominion. Yea, my beloved brethren, I say unto you, that the Spirit said: Behold the glory of the King of all the earth; and also the King of heaven shall very soon shine forth among all the children of men.

General Conference
Your Priesthood Playbook
Elder Gary E. Stevenson
"I pray that you will make the commitment to live worthy of the holy priesthood that you bear and strive to execute your sacred role every day. I bless you with the ability and desire to do so. I add my testimony of the power of the priesthood that you hold, of living prophets, and of Jesus Christ and His role as our Savior and Redeemer. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

James served me breakfast as I was doing my morning gospel study. Oatmeal with walnuts and a side of bananas and strawberries. Quite delicious.

James went out this morning to try and put the motor in for his broken drivers window. This is his third attempt and third component and this one did not work either. He is getting pretty frustrated! He went into town to return the part and bought me a box of cherry Dilly bars so the day wasn't a complete waste.

Still selling books, six today. WooHoo!

I made rolls, washed my temple clothes and asked James if he had anything clothes for me to wash, and gave myself a manicure all in preparation for going to the temple tomorrow.

I wished Tamara a happy birthday. I told her I would never forget her birthday because it is the same day as my mom's. She said she got a new temple dress and is so excited to wear it today in the temple. She and her husband try to go every Friday afternoon.

I walked and listened to conference talks this morning and in the afternoon and evening while I was walking I watched "Chopped."

Happy 89th Birthday Mom!

What a great mom I have!

This is Gracie. She is in James's Primary class. She is
a rodeo girl. She won first place in the barrel racing.

Look at this cutie super model!

 Is this for real?

Yea! They caught the bad guy and girl!

Jesus Christ, Crucifixion
Mark 9:31
For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.
Book of Mormon
Helaman 3:19-37
*What do these verses tell us about the power of prayer? How can you apply these principles to your own life?
- Verse 35 is the key to becoming a true follower of Christ. They fasted and prayed oft and increased in humility and were firmer in the faith of Christ. They became sanctified because they yielded their hearts unto God.

Behold! A Royal Army
Elder Ronald A. Rasband
"Today we all stand as witnesses of the Lord revealing His will through His prophet, President Russell M. Nelson. I testify that he is God's prophet here on earth. I bear my witness of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is our great Redeemer and Savior. This is His work, and this is His will, to which I bear solemn testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

There is one lonely cupcake left from Tamara's birthday celebration. Guess who ate it.

Ecclesiastes, the Preacher:
"Wisdom gives life to them that have it"

"Anger resteth in the bosom of fools"

"Wisdom is better than strength"

I listened to three articles from the Ensign this morning while doing my chores. One was about President Eyring written by Elder Holland. Another was entitled, "An Ensign to the Nations," and the third was about motherhood and how all women and mothers in some way.

I have decided to give away all of my Victoria Holt books except for "Mistress of Mellyn," which is the one that Nannie first gave to me. I had 26 of her books. James and I read all of them together. We decided that she is a good author but some of the things she writes are a little inappropriate. Goodbye Victoria.

My office buddies. Out with some of the books to
make room for my crafts.

I met my ministering sister companion and we visited Kerri and Catherine Halcomb today. It took awhile for us to actually get together. I waited for her at the Bannon Springs facility and she was looking for me further out on the road the the Bannon Springs sign. I did not have Marie's cell phone number and she forgot to bring mine so we were stuck. I looked on LDS Tools and the directions to Marie's address are incorrect. I remembered her saying that Sister Tice was her neighbor, so I looked up the directions to her home and was able to find Marie. Sometimes ministering is a real adventure!
Marie and Catherine really hit it off. Marie has six dogs which are like her children. I found out she had one son who was killed 17 years ago in a motorcycle race. When Catherine and I talked about our children and grandchildren she said, "I will never have any."
Catherine used to be a dog groomer and raised Siberian huskies. Marie said her dogs needed to be groomed so Catherine is going to come over and show Marie how to groom her six schnauzers.
Catherine is a seamstress and is doing alterations for Brother Hunsaker's suit. His son Tyler is getting married on Saturday.
We got to meet Catherine and Kerri's dogs, Shelly and Star. Shelly is a "blue" Great Dane. Actually she is gray, and Star is a Red Tick Hound. Shelly is beautiful, Star not so much but they are both gentle once you get to know them. I told Kerri all I ever heard was them barking and then being shooed outside and I would like to meet them so she brought them in. Kerri has applied, as a retired federal agent, to go to the Carolina's and help with the hurricane. If called, she will make $500 a day.

The top picture is what Catherine calls her
Church Wall. The bottom is her 16 great
grandchildren.

Today would have been my mother's 88th birthday. I have a photo of her on my desk and I think of her and her goodness to me in my life everyday. I am so grateful to be her daughter. Sheri remembered it was her birthday and sent me a message. It made me feel good that she remembered her grandma.

James went to town this afternoon and got three new tires put on his truck and two new ones for the Razr. He brought back a drink for me and my first Quilter's magazine which I received in the mail. Even if I never make anything I love looking at all the projects I could make if I were more talented.

I put clean sheets on two beds upstairs in readiness for our company this weekend. James and I read from "The Secret Keeper" which we are really beginning to like. I also did some Old Testament reading, and worked on my 2019 dot journal before it was time to retire to our comfy bed.

I asked for a photo of Summer and Charlie together.
Kacey said that this is how they bond. Cute.

I have this leaf punch!

You can see her personality shine through
in this photo. I love you Scarlett!

Atonement
DC 74:7
But little children are holy, being sanctified through the atonement of Jesus Christ; and this is what the scriptures mean.
Jesus Christ, Appearances, Antemortal
Genesis 17:1
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Helaman 6:32-41

DC 133:1-15
How am I preparing for the Second Coming?
Have I prepared room for Him in my heart? I need to learn all I can about Him through the scriptures and conference talks. I must try to become like Him. I need to communicate with Heavenly Father through prayer. I need to be worthy to have the Spirit be with me at all times because the Spirit testifies of the Savior and helps me to love other people as the Savior loves them. I must repent of my sins and be ready to enter into His presence. Obedience, humility, preparation, restoration, sanctification, gathering are all keywords.

The Language of the Gospel

Happy Birthday Mom!

My guardian angel

Lakeside Cemetery

James had a 10:30 doctor's appointment with Dr. Moffat. He went by himself. After awhile I got a call saying that the doctor wanted him to go to the emergency room so they could check for a blood clot in his lungs. James told Dr. Moffat that we had just returned from a 2,000 mile car drive and that he had pains in his chest. That's all the doctor needed to hear to have him admitted into the emergency room.

I got ready and got into town as quickly as I could, driving the truck. I think James was happy to see me although he told me I didn't have to come. How could I not? I read to him from our new book, "Borrowed Light" which Cathi gave to us.

This is about a Mormon girl who lives in Salt Lake City in the early 1900's who just graduated from Miss Farmer's cooking school in Boston. She is engaged but not in love so she breaks it off and answers an add in the newspaper for a cook at a remote Wyoming ranch.  I was able to read several chapters before going home this evening.

They did  a test to check for a blood clot and it came back negative. Because James has what they call heart disease, the doctor on call, Dr. Johnson, wants him to stay overnight so they can do a stress test on him tomorrow. They also did 4 EKG's, 3 CT scans, one MRI and an Xray.

I stayed with him until they moved him in a room with a more comfortable bed and he ordered and ate dinner. Oh yes, his oxygen rate kept falling below 90 so they also gave him oxygen. The reason he went to Dr. Moffat in the first place was because he has been having trouble breathing, especially at night. That problem has not even been addressed. I have a feeling he will be going back to Dr. Moffat soon.

Looking tired. They don't let you rest in the hospital.

The first thing I noticed when I returned home was the clean garage and it reminded me of how lucky I am to be married to such a wonderful man.

This picture doesn't do it justice. Believe me
when I say it has never been this clean!

No Heartland tonight. That wouldn't be fair. I watched an old
Hallmark movie before going to bed.

Today would have been my Mom's 82nd birthday.  I still miss her everyday.  In celebration of Mom's birthday I made chocolate chip cookies.  We can take them with us on our trip to Texas tomorrow.

James and I left for town a little after 4.  We stopped and made a deposit at Chase bank and then went to Walgreen's to pick up a prescription.  The prescription wasn't ready so we went to LaCasita to get something to eat then went back to get the prescription.  We also stopped to get gas and then drove to the Show Low Park to read until we got the call from Sheri that she was leaving for Payson.  We are meeting her there to pick up Ben and Max.

We picked up Ben and Max and turned right back around and came home.  It was almost 11pm when we got here so we went straight to bed.  Ben and Max are excited to be at the cabin even if it is for such a short time.  They both slept on the family room couch.
