Bogota, Colombia,
57th operating temple.

2 Nephi 16:1-17:25
Why would the Lord send a prophet to a people He knew would reject the message?
Alma 5:1-40
To gain salvation, men must repent and keep the commandments, be born again, cleanse their garments through the blood of Christ, be humble and strip themselves from pride and envy, and do the works of righteousness, whatsoever is good cometh from God, and whatsoever is evil cometh from the devil.
DC 31:1-13
How can verse 2 bring us comfort if we have family members who have strayed?

'Pressing forward on the strait and narrow path is what He would have us do.  Tasting the fruit of the tree and becoming deeply "converted unto the Lord are the blessings He yearns for us to receive."  Hence, He beckons us 'Come follow me.'
Both exercising faith in and following Jesus Christ are necessary preparations for serving Him.'

"Preach My Gospel" - Using the Book of Mormon in missionary work.
James requested I read a couple of chapters from "Lady of the Lakes."  I also read from "Contrite Spirit," chapter 12 regarding
Expectations.
My Primary lesson this month is on the witnesses of the gold plates.  To me it is interesting that the Lord provided 12 witnesses of the gold plates just as he provided 12 witnesses of the Savior.

I worked on learning how to use Hope Chest on Family Search today but as of yet I have not actually used it.  After blogging, taking a shower, and a nap I cleaned in the family/living room.  I dusted, vacuumed, including the couch, and polished part of the floor where James walks from outside to the fireplace.
After my inside cleaning I went outside and picked up pinecones just outside the living room.  We have a pine tree that loves to drop pine cones.

I also paid some bills while James was upstairs working on taxes.  We did two things together today.  We read 3 chapters from "Lady of the Lakes," and watched the newest episode of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered."  This episode was about the aftermath of displaced people as a result of Hurricane Katrina.  This was the best episode yet!  Norman and Rita are engaged and Shane and Oliver kissed.

 Happy Birthday Karen!
She turns 70 today.

Six of my beautiful grandchildren.

James loves to study in front of the fire.
Here he is pondering a gospel topic.

Lola helped Trina decorate Addy's room.

I am a little concerned about this.
Are some of our rights being taken away?

I went for a walk this morning for about 35 minutes.  I am gradually working up to 1 hour and hopefully will be able to go 3 miles and burn 300 calories.
James gets up in the morning and after breakfast and scriptures he takes his meds and lays down for a nap.  This morning he slept until 11 and then decided it was time to get up and work on payroll.  It took a long time because he had to email about sixteen pages to John at the payroll company.  We have two new guys who are not in the system.
The weather is absolutely gorgeous.  It clouds up and rain s and cools down to 70 degrees.  I feel like I am in heaven.  James took me to lunch at El Rancho today and I discovered their shrimp tacos.  Delicious!
Some of the things I did today: made chocolate chip and peanut butter chip cookies using a new receipe that calls for pudding.  They were quite tasty.  Talked to my friend Karen Schneider.  Played Scramble on my phone, watched Foodnetwork, and watched Misty Mae and Kerri win another volleyball match.  They play for the gold tomorrow against the other team from the US.  Go Misty and Kerri!
My yummy cookies.  Thanks Marci Coombs for the receipe!

When James went to Chandler last week he got a request for an MRI from the doctor.  I called to schedule him an appointment for next week while we are down there.  It took several calls and lots of questions before I finally got an appointment for next Thursday.  During this process we found out that it will not be covered by workmen's comp because in January he cancelled coverage for himself. James is so miserable I hope he can wait until next Thursday.  He took a long valium induced nap today.
I found this information on Pinterest today:  " Seventeen year old Brittany Wenger won the Google Science Fair.  Her grand prize computer program can diagnose breat cancer with 99.1% accuracy.  It took her more than 600 hours to code.  Impressive.  I wonder what I was doing for those 600 hours.
I talked to my friend Karen Schneider today and we made plans for lunch next week while I am in Chandler.  I am looking forward to it!
James and I read 2 Nephi 23-24 today and I also read to him from "Secret for a Nightingale."
This evening I went on a walk.  Here are some pictures I got of the moon.  I wish I had a better camera.

The moon was actually a beautiful yellow-orange color.
While watching TV tonite I walked over to turn the fan on.  As soon as I sat down I saw something crawling on the floor coming from the direction in which I had just watched.  It was a BAT crawling across the floor.  I am so thankful that James was here to take care of it for me.  Just earlier today I did some cleaning upstairs.  I swept lots of moth wings and dead moths up.  I asked James where they came from.  He said the moths lay eggs in the house and then lots of moths hatch.  The moth wings are the remains from the bat eating the moths.  Thanks little bat for getting rid of the moths, but from now on you need to feast outside and not in my house!

I miss James and hope he can come home tomorrow evening.  His back is still really bothering him and he tried to make a doctor's appointment but Dr. Wilson and the physician's assistant are both out.
I made cookies this morning before I went visiting teaching so I could take some to the sister I was visiting.

I had an appointment to see Rosie Lauritzen at 10 o'clock this morning.  She drew me a map to her house, which is about 10 miles away but I got lost and she had to come and rescue me.  Rosie is the 1st counselor in the RS presidency and she teaches 4th grade.  Her husband Rick is the ward executive secretary and he has his own marriage counseling practice.  Theresa Smith is Rosie's neighbor and she came by for a visit while I was there.  The three of us had a nice visit and I am grateful to get to know these two sisters a little better.  I think I could be good friends with both of them.  Theresa is alot of fun and teaches line dancing every Monday afternoon and invited me to come.  Rosie is more spiritual and I really feel drawn to her.  After our visit I made a trip in to Walmart to get some appliques to use for visiting teaching cards and for YW's.
It rained all afternoon and in to the evening.  I am so sorry that James is not here to enjoy this beautiful weather.
Can you see the rain?
I had a nice visit with Karen Schneider on the phone this afternoon.  We had some catching up to do.  I played Scramble on my phone with Kim and Sheri.  They beat me so badly I don't know why I go back for more.
Today was the first day of school in Chandler.  Both Evan and Joshua started kindergarten. Max is in 3rd grade and Kim is the aid in his classroom.   Alex and Michael started high school and Ben started junior high.  Dallin is a senior.  Here are pictures of Josh, Evan and Max.
