"Closing Remarks"
President Russell M. Nelson
"Now in closing, I leave with you my love and my blessing that each of you may become happier and holier with each passing day. Meanwhile, please be assured that revelation continues in the Church and will continue under the Lord's direction until 'the purposes of God shall be accomplished, and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done.' I so bless you, reaffirming my love for you, with my testimony that God lives! Jesus is the Christ! This is His Church and we are His people. In the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen."

I woke up late and as a result we were late getting to the 6 a.m. Walmart opening and missed getting toilet paper. I got everything else I needed and James got the things he needed for the corral too. Not at Walmart though.

The Vernon post office was robbed last night. They even took the garbage can which means they are looking for names and addresses. I am wondering why there isn't a camera installed. This is the second time this has happened. Sometimes I feel like I live in the Old West.

Anthony came to pick up the old Ranger today. James loaded it for him by picking it up with his Cat.

Anthony was so impressed, that's why
he took this photo.

It was 68 degrees today. A beautiful day for James to work outside. It did get cloudy this afternoon but there was very little wind.
The corral is coming along nicely. Dottie will be here this weekend.

Kathy and Chuck are in Flagstaff where Kathy is having a procedure done. Hopefully they will be able to find out what is wrong with her.

Today is the 21st anniversary of my mother's death. The day she died the winds were blowing 90 m.p.h. She had been at the doctor's in Snowflake and was on her way home when her Geometro car was blown in front of a semi truck. She died instantly and made the front page of the local newspaper. It was a horrible day for our family. We drove up from the valley in the evening, going through Payson. We passed so many semi-trucks. We weren't sure why until we got to Show Low and found out they had closed highway 40 between Flagstaff and Holbrook because of the wind.

Here is the post I put on Facebook.

We bought a 10 lb. bag of flour for the Peeler's this morning. James went to their house to deliver it. No one was home except for the dog so he left it on the counter. The Peeler's were at the Goodman's watching a movie.

I love Christina's posts!

Jesus Christ, Judge
Mosiah 16:10
Even this mortal shall put on immortality, and this corruption shall put on incorruption, and shall be brought to stand before the bar of God, to be judged of him according to their works whether they be good or whether they be evil -

"Your Great Adventure"
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
"If you sense that your life could have more meaning, a higher purpose, stronger family bonds, and a closer connection with God, please, come, join with us.
If you seek a community of people who are working to become the best versions of themselves, help those in need, and make this world a better place, come, join with us! Come and see what this marvelous, wondrous, and adventurous journey is all about. Along the way you will discover yourself. You will discover meaning. You will discover God. You will discover the most adventurous and glorious journey of your life. Of this I testify in the name of our Redeemer and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen."

Ensign
"My Island of Faith"

I forgot to mention that one day this week we had blueberry pancakes for breakfast. It was the one day Addy ate with us. When she was finished eating, she cooked pancakes for everyone else.

James had ministering interviews this morning at the church. He is an example to me of doing your ministering interviews. Most all of mine, the ones that I've done, have been via text.

When he got home we had the sacrament and reviewed the "Come Follow Me" lesson for the week, Jacob 5-7.

I watched a little video clip about Clayton Christensen this morning. I have read his book about everyday missionaries and was so impressed with how he includes missionary work in every aspect of his life. He was a world-renowned business professor at Harvard and always seemed to find a way to talk about his faith. He was 67 years old when he died of cancer on January 23, 2020.

He says he wanted to feel the Spirit like he did on his mission so he re-positioned himself on the front lines. "Everyday as I left I had a desire to share the gospel and as I did,  I felt the Spirit with me again."

After James and I studied "Come Follow Me" I continued studying by myself. I filled out my study guide for Jacob 5-7 which took quite awhile.

It was a relaxing day. We FaceTimed with Jared, Kacey, and Charlie this afternoon. I told them about Jace and the possibility that he might have had the coronavirus and because of that I was quarantining myself. They both told us about an app called Zoom which is a video conferencing app. Jared was able to be a part of the Priest's quorum lesson today because of Zoom and Kacey was sent the Relief Society lesson via email. I immediately told Tamara, Kerri, and Maxine about it. Kerri had never heard of it. Tamara had heard of it and said an upcoming regional conference might come to us through Zoom. No one mentioned using it in our ward.

I am grateful for the Sabbath day and how it helps to remember to focus on our Savior. I am also grateful for the Sabbath day because we get pictures of Charlie and usually Scarlett too.

Jacob 2:17-35
Jacob denounces the love of riches, pride, and unchastity - Men may seek riches to help their fellowmen - The Lord commands that no man among the Nephites may have more than one wife - The Lord delights in the chastity of women. About 544-421 B.C.
How is the love of money the root of all evil?
Alma 38-40
38 Shiblon was persecuted for righteousness' sake - Salvation is in Christ, who is the life and the light of the world - Bridle all your passions. About 74 B.C.
39 The commandments of Alma to his son Corianton. - Sexual sin is an abomination - Corianton's sins kept the Zoramites from receiving the word - Christ's redemption is retroactive in saving the faithful who preceded it.
40 Christ brings to pass the resurrection of all men - The righteous dead go to paradise and the wicked to outer darkness to await the day of their resurrection - All things will be restored to their proper and perfect frame in the Resurrection.
DC 43:13-23
8-14, The Saints are sanctified by acting in all holiness before the Lord; 15-22, Elders are sent forth to cry repentance and prepare men for the great day of the Lord;
How am I preparing for the great day of the Lord?
General Conference
That He May Become Strong Also
President Henry B. Eyring
"All of us hope that more young men will have experiences like Wilford Woodruff, who as an Aaronic Priesthood holder taught the gospel of Jesus Christ with converting power.  I pray that we will rise to our call to lift others to prepare them for their glorious service."

James and I went to the 7:45 session at the Gilbert temple this morning.  I went through for Merinda Davis.  We took a selfie but it wasn't good, so here is a picture of the temple instead.

After the temple we made a Costco run for bread, walnuts, and chocolate chips.  We also stopped for lunch.  We a hotdogs and drinks for $3.00 total.
Deseret Book is next door so I ran in and got scriptures and journals for Jace and Jerom who are getting baptized this afternoon.

We went back to Cathi's and packed up.  We said goodbye to Cathi but Terry was gone shopping.  James had to meet the painter out at the Queen Creek job, something about a key.  Finally we are on our way home.
Pine trees here we come!

We passed up Burger House and then waited in line at McDonald's for 10 minutes for an ice cream.  We finished our book, "The Seven Tipping Points that Changed the World" before Salt River.
These tree look beautiful lining the street in downtown Show Low.

When we got home we unloaded the car and put things away and then it was time to get ready for Jace and Jerom's baptisms.
