Camp Verde, Arizona

Alma 62: 34-52
As a review, here is the heading for Alma 62.
"Moroni marches to the aid of Pahoran in the land of Gideon - The king-men who refuse to defend their country are put to death - Pahoran and Moroni retake Nephihah - Many Lamanites join the people of Ammon - Teancum slays Ammoron and is in turn slain - The Lamanites are driven from the land, and peace is established - Helaman returns to the ministry and builds up the Church."  About 62-57 B.C.

GC: " I Am a Child of God" by Elder Hallstrom, and "Where Are the Keys and Authority of the Priesthood" by Elder Stevenson.

James left around 5:45 this morning for the valley after our family prayer and scripture study.  I left at 8:30 this morning.  I stopped at Sonic in Show Low for a diet coke and a bacon breakfast toaster.  I arrived at Cathi and Terry's at noon.  James offered to bring me a Jersey Mike's sub and I couldn't turn him down.  I ate half and then we left to take my car to Chandler Auto Body to repair the "owie" on the front bumper.  Afterwards James dropped me off at Dr. Higg's office in Ocotillo for my root canal.  Originally Dr. Higgs had told me he could do the root canal and crown all within two hours right there in his office.  Now he is saying that because the cavity is below the gum line he is going to have to send in the crown to be done in the lab.  Jill and Kim assist Dr. Higgs.  Jill just moved here.  She moved here because her son lives in Arizona.  He works as a police officer in Show Low.  His last name is Munder.  If he ever stops me I'm going to tell him I know his mom.
Sound familiar?
I have to wait for James to pick me up.  I sit outside because the weather is so nice.  It is overcast and rainy.  James went to Phoenix to pick up his log splitter.   Our credit card charges today will include $2,156.00 to Dr. Higgs, and $1,615.22 for the log splitter. Both are necessary, I suppose.  Oh yes, and my car will be around $900.

Bridget in the basket.

The doctor said my gum would be sore for awhile and gave me some rinse to use 3x a day.  When I get back to Cathi's I am ready for a two hour nap.  I wake up just about the time Cathi and Terry get home.  Cathi had an appointment with Dr. Higgs today too.  He told her that I was much braver than she was.  This after he gives me five shots in the mouth.  I guess Cathi gets put to sleep.

I eat the other half of my sandwich for dinner and James and I have a nice visit with Cathi and Terry before going to bed.  They are going to Salt Lake for some training on Saturday and Cathi is very excited.  She says Terry is excited too, but I can't tell.

This is the patio James says he is going to make for us in the back.
Right now all I see is a pile of ABC.

Another Brick'em Young temple,
this time it's the San Diego,
my personal favorite!

Alma 51:13-21
How can we refrain from pride and be humbled?
Sacrament meeting is the most important meeting where I can take care of pride and humble myself.

"Prepare and prevent rather than repair and repent."

I left for the valley this morning at 6 a.m.   James didn't come with me.  He did some chores and left about 3 hours after I did.  I had an appointment at Aquila Dental with Dr. Higgs to see about getting my tooth pulled at 10 am.  The doctor talked me in to getting a root canal and crown instead.  He said he could do it in two hours and it would only cost me $2,100.  He said if I got my tooth pulled I would have to go to an oral surgeon because there was some complications.  I scheduled an appointment to come back on September 7th.  Things sure do change.  I had planned on spending $250 to get my tooth pulled.

After my appointment I drove to Sheri's to receive instructions.   I am watching Max and Evan while she, Ian, Alex, and Ben go to Havasupai.  The main thing I am worried about is where to drop off and pick up for school.  Sheri drove the route with me and wrote the times down.  I am good to go.

James was starving so we went to get some lunch at Jersey Mike's.  Sheri, Alex, and Ian put in their orders and Sheri sent her debit card.

Darrel, Trina, and Sheri's friend Rachel from work and her husband Dillon are also going.  They had a quick meeting before taking off.
Not sure where Rachel, Dillon, Alex
and Ben are.  Darrel offered a prayer
before everyone left.

Sheri forgot her shoes and James jumped in Ian's car and drove to Tempe to take them to her.  He told everyone they better not give her a bad time because they have all forgot things before too.

For dinner Sheri said to cook burgers and hot dogs on the George Foreman grill, which we did.  The only problem was we couldn't get it open and by the time we did, the burgers were overdone.  Evan ate his anyway and Max had hotdogs.  James and I made Evan some homemade fries because he said that's what his mom always does.  I know he loves them.

When Evan gets home from school the first thing he does is go in to the computer room to watch Youtube videos.  He and Max also go upstairs and make their own Lego Youtube videos.  Evan went to bed at 9:15 and Max stayed up until ten.  I was exhausted and went to bed after family prayer.  James says Max is in charge of family prayer because he is the oldest priesthood holder in the home.  He said he and I were only visitors.  Max is 13 and Evan is almost 10.

They unloaded the dishwasher for me because I said I didn't know where anything went.

Here are some pictures from Facebook today since I didn't take any of the boys:
This is Ian as a baby, his dad, his grandma,
and his great grandmother.

The water is so blue!

It looks like a huge goldfish.

I tried this and it works!

I love this picture.
