We left for the valley at 5:15 this morning. Our first stop was in Globe to get gas and then in Miami to pick up a Tony's Special breakfast burrito at Burger House. Masks are required, no public restrooms, only three customers in the building at a time. Such a downer.
Burger House Heist
One taste of this breakfast burrito we shared and we
knew it was worth any hardship. Delicious!

James's two houses failed inspections again. There are three contractors that are supposed to come back and deal with problems. None of them came. James has to reschedule an inspection for the third time.

I dropped James off at Sheri's to work while I went to my infusion. Stacy came by to pickup some pills from me and ended up taking me to my appointment. James needed to keep the car to pick up some materials at Home Depot. We both wore our masks in case she is still contagious although by this time she should not be. It's been almost a month since she came down with it.

My infusion went quickly. They called me back and I got started at 10:30. My appointment wasn't until 10:45 but I was early. I was done by 11:30. I can't call while I'm in the infusion center so I kept texting James but he never answered me. I went outside and called when I was finished and he said he had not seen my texts. I told him I was going to walk across the street to Freddy's and he could pick me up there. The only thing open at Freddy's was the drive-thru window so I waited outside in front on a bench sitting in the shade until James got there. We drove back to Sheri's and I picked up Max and Evan and took them to Jersey Mike's to order some lunch. We had to wear masks and the dining area was not open so we took our sandwiches home to eat them. I love the Jersey Shore Special, Mike's Way. Max and Evan were thankful that I bought them some lunch. We also saw Alex when we got back to the house. He said he is taking Max fishing near Saguaro Lake on the Salt River tomorrow morning for his birthday.

James didn't quite finish at Sheri's. He tried to call Sal and Greg Hatch but could not get a hold of either one of them for a meeting. He said he had to go to Peoria to meet with someone whose job he and Sal are starting this week. We drove 45 miles across town so James could meet with this guy for about 10 minutes. He lives in a nice neighborhood and has retired at a young age. James was impressed with him. Aaron is the guys name and he had requested to meet James.

Next stop was at Dobson Ranch where James has done lots of work. Some guy named Don wanted James to look at something that might be a potential problem. James took a look and told him what to do and that was it.

My friend Barbara had surgery on her shoulder yesterday. I texted her and ask if I could pick up anything for her at Costco. She wanted sweet plums, Barbacoa beef, and Quaker granola cereal. Before going to the Gilbert Costco we stopped in at Deseret Book which is right behind Costco. I got a new Book of Mormon, triple combination.

I have my reasons

James helped me shop at Costco. We thought Barbara wanted fresh plums so we picked up a bag. I got the last package of Barbacoa Beef, and then we easily found the Quaker's granola. After we had checked out I looked at my phone and realized these are the plums Barbara wanted.

I texted this picture to Sheri. She is going to get these plums and bring them up when she comes up on the 13th. In the meantime Pierce and Barbara will have fresh plums to eat.

Our best deal at Costco was a big bag of walnuts for twelve dollars. From Costco we drove to Darrel and Trina's. No one is home. Darrel is on his way but he is a long ways away. I got the garage code from Darrel and we broke in and left Lola's birthday present on the table. I also stole (I asked) one of Darrel's caramel protein shakes.

Loved it!

From Darrel's we headed for home. We didn't roll into our driveway until 9 p.m. James's first concern was feeding Luna. I helped him unload the car and we got the Barbacoa beef and some green chili pork into the refrigerator. It felt so good to be home!
I took a shower and changed in to my comfy clothes. I did not get all of my steps today but I will make it up the rest of the week. We will deliver to the Goodman's tomorrow. James made a spinach, pineapple, banana smoothie and shared some of it with me. I forgot how much I love them!

Jesus Christ, Crucifixion
Matthew 27:22
Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.
Book of Mormon
Alma 62:1-18
*What effect did Moroni's standard of liberty have on the hearts of the people of Nephi?
- It gave them courage and confidence and hope in the cause they were fighting for.

The Prophet of God
Elder Neil L. Andersen
"We embrace President Nelson as we would have embraced Peter or Moses if we had lived in their day. God told Moses, 'I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.' We listen to the Lord's prophet with the faith that his words are 'from the Lord's own mouth.'
Is this blind faith? No, it is not. We each have a spiritual witness of the truthfulness of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. By our own will and choice, we raised our hand this morning, declaring our desire to sustain the Lord's prophet with our confidence, faith, and prayers and to follow his counsel. We have the privilege as Latter-day Saints to receive a personal witness that President Nelson's call if from God."

This morning James and I went to Fry's to get the ingredients to make shredded beef tacos. Fry's had coffee and donut holes out for their shoppers. I was so excited to see donut holes that I grabbed some, totally forgetting about my commitment to not eat sugar. How do I overcome this addiction?

Can't help but compare Fry's produce section
to Walmart's. There is no comparison.
Sorry for the backside of the old guy.

While we were at Fry's Trina said she was going to take Lola to the gym with her and then she would bring her over to Cathi's later. We tried to hurry home before she left but we didn't make it. I am watching Lola and picking up Addy from the bus stop while Trina goes to the doctor.

Cathi is so nice to do this for me. She is providing the material, time, and no how to make my card kits for card making class. I asked James to go to the bank and get $20 for her, which he did.
Here is what I ended up with:

16-17 kits for card class

Lola made a card for her dad's birthday and then went upstairs and got locked in the play area. Later she said she liked playing with the dogs and making her card but she didn't like getting locked in with the toys.  Cathi watched Ollie for Sheri while Sheri took her car in. James picked Sheri up.  She is very emotional today. It's the saddest happy she has ever been.

Saying goodbye to Ben:

We left Cathi's around 1:15. Addy gets out of school early today and we are supposed to pick her up at the bus stop at 1:45. Lola told us she knew where the bus stop was. When I asked her which way we turn she said I think it's right, or maybe left. At first Addy didn't see us so she called her dad. Darrel called us and we drove around closer to where she was so she could see us.

Addy wanted to go home so we went to drop her off. Trina had accidentally locked the door so Addy came with us to Jersey Mike's. James ordered her a mini sandwich with provolone cheese and ham. She said she didn't really like ham but she ate the entire sandwich. Lola ate the inside of her bread where it was nice and soft. She drank lots of pink lemonade and ate chips. James got her a cookie and she said she didn't want it. I looked at it and it had raisins in it so that's probably why.

Poor Trina spends most of her time in the afternoon running back and forth taking and picking up kids. She picked up Rowan from football practice and then took Addy to Mutual. Rowan was supposed to go too but he didn't want to because he doesn't really know anyone. Addy didn't have time to eat dinner and she was not here for Darrel's "party." We had to have Darrel's party between 6 and 7 because one of his birthday presents from Trina was a massage and he had to be there at 7.
Our tacos, both chicken and shredded beef were delicious. Darrel says tacos alot, that's why we made them for him. I hope he liked them.

Happy Birthday Darrel

Mosiah 3:1-10
King Benjamin delivers an angels words about the Atonement of Jesus Christ.
* What does Mosiah 3:7 help you understand about the Savior's mission?
* Why do you think the angel said that this message would bring great joy?
* What are your feelings as you think what the Savior has done for you?
* Elder James E. Talmage said: "Christ's agony in the garden is unfathomable by the finite mind, both as to intensity and cause...He struggled and groaned under a burden such as no other being who has lived on earth might even conceive as possible.  It was not physical pain, nor mental anguish alone, that caused Him to suffer such torture as to produce an extrusion of blood from every pore; but a spiritual agony of soul such as only God was capable of experiencing...In that hour of anguish Christ met and overcame all the horrors that Satan, 'the prince of this world', could inflict...In some manner, actual and terribly real though to man incomprehensible the Savior took upon Himself the burden of the sins of mankind from Adam to the end of the world."
Helaman 3-4
3 Many Nephites migrate to the land northward - They build houses of cement and keep many records - Tens of thousands are converted and baptized - The word of God leads men to salvation - Nephi the son of Helaman fills the judgment seat. About 49-39 B.C.
4 Nephite dissenters and the Laanites join forces and take the land of Zarahemla - The Nephites' defeats come because of their wickedness - The Church dwindles, and the people become weak like the Lamanites. About 38 - 30 B.C.

James and I went to the 6:15 am session at the Gilbert temple.  I found a couple of names on Jared's Family Search page, Mary Hannah and John McCullough.

I had a little break before I had to go to Mesa for my infusion.  James went to work.  I left at 9:45 for my 10:30 appointment.  Frances and Barbara took care of me.  After I am all set up I sit in my recliner with a head pillow and a cold bottle of water.  It's almost as if I am getting a spa treatment.  Well, not quite.

For lunch we went to one of James's favorite places, Jersey Mike's Subs.  After eating James wanted to go check on his job on McKellips and Center in Mesa.  I went with him and we read from "A Fine Gentleman."

James finally was able to hook up Sal's line to the city sewer.  It was after dark though, actually after we got back from dinner with James's mom and his brothers and sisters at Valle Luna in Chandler.

and Connie.

Rebecca's birthday is tomorrow.
Gail brought her a myrtle wood bowl
from Oregon.  It was beautiful.

Rebecca and her bowl.

Lois arranges these dinners and she and Dawn
pay for them.  We are very grateful.

After dinner James finished the sewer line and I packed and put all my stuff in the car.  We left around 8 pm for home.  Cathi said James could leave his truck and trailer here but it would cost him some burros from Burger House.  We got home around 11:30.  Kim and Brian were already here for the weekend.
