News: 1) AI-generated drug developed to treat a rare lung condition may also slow aging in humans. 2) Scientists discover stem cells that appear to produce tendons and ligaments that contribute to lumbar spinal stenosis; the finding suggests existing high blood pressure medications could treat the common lower back condition. 3) Trump wants to change New Mexico's name to New America.
I signed up for Trade Smith's stock tracking system. When I buy stocks on my brokerage account I will link my account to Trade Smith and it will keep track of how my stocks are doing.
Our State Farm agent said the underwriters won't insure our home, something about the roads not being wide enough. James won't let that stop him, I am sure.
James and I made a trip to town. I mailed a check to Autumn, a check and birthday card to James Hayden, and a birthday card to Denise Hall. Next we stopped at Chase bank to get cash for Kat & Larry. I had James stop at Walgreen's where I went inside and bought wedding cards and Amazon gift cards for Gracie Umphress and one for Haley Hunsaker. They are both getting married in the next couple of weeks. He then dropped me off at Walmart.
As I began my shopping I had these things in mind to buy: the ingredients for Nutella bars for the Gilbert's, ingredients for Jared's Funfetti cake for Chelsea MacArthur's birthday, and a pot roast with potatoes, carrots, and rolls for the missionaries we are feeding on Thursday, buying the things on Kim's list, and several other items I need. Last week's big display of watermelons as you come in the door, as now changed into pumpkins.
from last week.
I made it past the pumpkins into the produce department where I met Jerry & Millie Scott, Ellen Kostusiak, and Loretta Smithson. Whew.
Millie just got back from a doctor's appointment. She has to have one of her toes amputated. She acted like it was no big deal, but I know it is. Toes are very important appendages and there are a lot of nerve endings in your feet. I'm a little concerned for my sweet friend.
I congratulated Ellen on going through the temple. She said it was wonderful but a little overwhelming too.
Loretta is a friend from high school who lives in Gilbert in the winter and is in my friend Karen Schneider's ward. I got Loretta's contact information.
When James dropped me off, he was going to get a new tree for the grassy area in front of the house. He was also going to get more stain for the logs. He got back before I was finished so I sent him to get an aloe plant.
Kim wanted me to get her deodorant. She had me take lots of pictures of all of the different "flavors" of Secret. James was waiting for me up front and so I was a little stressed but I didn't tell Kim. She had me get two different ones and off I went to meet James.
We were about 15 minutes late getting back to pay Kat & Larry. They had already left for home. We met them on the road in front of one of the Kick 'n' Back entrances. We went back to the Vernon PO to pick up two packages. We arrived at 3:58, two minutes before they closed their window. We are cutting it close today.
We made it home and unloaded the car and put things away. Afterwards I hopped back in the car and headed for Amy Reynolds to put the canner I am giving her in Cope's truck as Amy and Cope are both still at work. Directions to her house. Go passed Cheryl's and turn right at the ranch sign. We are in the cabin just after the sign. I love country directions.
One of the packages we picked up from the post office contained the Swedish dishcloths that Kacey bought for me. They are both beautiful and amazing and I am so excited to have them. Thank you Kacey!
Kim cleaned upstairs today and now she is making Nutella bars for the Gilbert's. What did I ever do without her!
Kim and I watched a Christmas movie, "Sugarplum." We laughed when the character Sugarplum called herself, Sue Garplum. (I guess you had to have been there.)
"As disciples of Jesus Christ, we rise with renewed determination to succor and care for those with whom we come in contact."

A soft answer turned away wrath; but grievous words stir up anger.
