Jesus Christ, Prophecies about
Isaiah 25:9
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

In time, the ministering brother, his family, and the sister he ministers to were able to return to church. But the 87 year-old widow, the neighbor, out of an abundance of caution, had to remain home. The ministering brother - remember that his assignment was to her neighbor and not even to this elderly sister herself - still to this day quietly comes to her home each Sunday, scriptures and a tiny
piece of bread in had, to administer the sacrament of the Lord's Supper.
His priesthood service, like mine that day in the care center, is given out of love. In fact, the ministering brother recently asked his bishop if there were others in the ward he could care for. His desire to magnify his priesthood service has grown as he has served in the Lord's name and in a way known almost exclusively to Him.

Articles of Faith
#5
We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

Inklings
"Jesus Christ is the light that we should hold up during the dark times of our mortal life. When we choose to follow Christ, we choose to be changed. A man or woman changed for Christ will be captained by Christ..."

Up at 5:07. I listened to Book of Mormon Central and Don't Miss This as part of my Come Follow Me studies. I also read from the study pages of Redheaded Hostess. I like this quote by Elder Bednar regarding small things:
Each family prayer, each episode of family scripture study, and each family home evening is a brushstroke on the canvas of our souls. No one event may appear to be very impressive or memorable. But just as the yellow and gold and brown strokes of paint complement each other and produce an impressive masterpiece, so our consistency in doing seemingly small things can lead to significant spiritual results. "Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth that which is great" (D&C 64:33). Consistency is a key principle as we lay the foundation of a great work in our individual lives and as we become more diligent and concerned in our own homes.

Kacey introduced me to a new concept today called Parental Alienation. Here are some things she posted on Instagram.

Alienating one's children from their other parent is
the worst kind of parenting. Especially when the
parent loves the children with all of his heart.

I made an apple-walnut salad for lunch. James turned on the oven to cook the box of butterfly shrimp. After about 15 minutes he check to see if it was warm. It was still cold. He tried turning the oven on again, but nothing. Our oven is not working and I have 100 cookies to bake this week. James reminded me of the small over next to the regular one. I can't get a normal size cookie sheet inside so I wonder how many cookies I can bake at a time. Stacy suggested I change my plans and go buy some chocolate. I've already spent money to make sugar cookies and I'm not going to change now.

James paid $28, a monthly fee, to get on the Viking hotline to fix the oven. Nothing resolved yet. He will call again tomorrow.

I watched Dave and Emily on "Don't Miss This" today as part of my "Come Follow Me" study.

Stacy left for home at 2:30. She said she wished she could stay. We had a nice time while she was here. After she left, I mixed up a batch of cookie dough. My dough was way too dry and I couldn't figure out why. I looked up on the internet what to do. Add more butter or water or milk. I added butter. While I am baking my 3 cookies at a time, James has decided to deep clean the stove. He has parts laying all over the kitchen. I appreciate his efforts, it's just that his timing is a little off. I guess he had to send photos to the Viking hotline and was embarrassed that our stove looked dirty.

Some of my cookies were a little too crispy but I'm keeping them anyway. It takes all kinds to feed a flock of fathers. I baked two dozen and then put them in the big freezer in the garage to keep them fresh and to keep me from eating them.

Stacy never calls to let me know that she got home safely. I texted Paul. No answer. Finally I texted Joshua and he answered me. Yes, she did get home safely.

James and I each had a hotdog for dinner and listened to "A Banner is Unfurled." The Johnson's, our family in this story, is a real family. The opening hymn in Church Sunday was "High on the Mountain Top. The words were written by Joel H. Johnson the son of Julia and Ezekiel Johnson. The story is getting too sad so I think we are not going to finish.

I have indexed 4,077 names so far this month.

I ended up baking 9 dozen cookies, 3 at a time,
in my small oven as shown above.
