Up at 3:55. I recorded my spiritually defining memory from yesterday,, had prayer, wrote down a conference quote, studied the Book of Mormon and sent off the question to R.E.J., read the D&C commentary, wrote in my Come Follow Me journal, studied priesthood power and said prayer, studied BM and did CFM with James.

I started the new puzzle I was sent to replace the one with the missing piece. I am looking forward to Harold & Vickie and Dennis & Denise coming tonight for dinner and to play Five Crowns.

The morning was pretty routine until lunch time. I bought two filet steaks yesterday and cooked them for lunch with cooked, fresh spinach. I cooked them perfectly and they were amazing! My meat thermometer never reached 145 but I just felt that they were done, and they were!

At 1pm I started preparing for tonight's dinner. Company is coming at 4 because I know Harold likes to go to bed early. I made calico beans and cornbread. For dessert we have some snickerdoodles left from yesterday.

Harold, Vickie, Dennis and Denise all arrived in Harold's white van right at 4 p.m. We visited for awhile and then sat down to eat. Everyone commented on how good the beans were and they wanted to know what cornbread mix I had used so I had to get the box out of the garbage.

After dinner we played Five Crowns. Harold won, Dennis came in 2nd, James 3rd, Vickie 4th, I was 5th and Denise was 6th.

Denise brought her peanut butter, chocolate "cookies." I told her we were going to the valley tomorrow and would take them with us as our family loves them. Thank you Denise!

In our visiting during playing Five Crowns Vickie shared with us that she had night terrors and wakes up screaming and pounding the headboard of her bed. It has gotten so bad that Harold sleeps in another room. She says she has to be on oxygen and if her oxygen level gets low that's when she goes in to a panic attack. It was very sad.

Denise is a little disgusted with Dennis because he has befriended the neighbors dogs. She said, "the little hairy one" sleeps right up against Dennis and I can't even get close to him. I giggled to myself. They gave up having dogs because they like to travel but obviously Dennis missed his fur babies. Vickie says that Harold cooks pork roasts for his dogs. Wow, I guess people really do treat their pets as family.

They left around 8 after a round of hugs. I am pretty upset with myself for not getting any photos. Oh well, I guess we will have to do it again, soon.

I finished my 10,000 steps and then gave my phone to James so he could listen to his book and get the rest of his steps. I am exhausted and hurting. I want to get up early, go to the valley to hear Stacy speak at her women's conference, then turn around and come home. Yes, we will have to go back on Monday, but I just can't see myself staying two nights away from home when I don't feel well. I told James and he said that would be fine. Thank goodness.

Today is Darrel & Trina's wedding anniversary. I texted them and told them that the day they were sealed was one of the happiest days of my life because all of my kids and their spouses were in the temple together. They took Rowan to Glacier National Park for his senior trip. I am sure they are loving it for their anniversary too.

I got up late this morning. I am pretty miserable.

I guess the big news of the days is that Anna got engaged to her boyfriend Shaun. There will be a series of pictures at the end of this post. Congratulations!

There is a killdeer bird pulling up the grass in our yard. James wants to get rid of him but isn't quite sure how he will do it. I don't him that President Kimball said, "Don't kill the little birds."

I had a hard time getting started today because I hurt so much. After our morning devotional James left for the Hipps's. I am out of my Tramadol so I asked him if on the way home he would stop at Walmart and pick up my prescription for Tramadol and for Amlodipine. He said he would and he did. Thank you Honey.

I had a doctor's appointment with Dr. Brady this afternoon at 3:20. James went with me. We took the truck because he wanted to pick up lumber for the shelves he is building in the horses tack room. He dropped me off at the Summit building next to the hospital where my appointment it. He did his errands, he got lumber at Home Depot, then went to Hipps's in Pinetop and did a small job, came back and then went to Tractor Supply to get horse feed.

I was in room Cloud 12 this time. Sierra came in and took my vitals. my blood pressure was 98/61 and my weight was 134. I have lost 15 lbs since I was here in June. When the doctor came in we talked about the swelling in my feet. He said to cut my Amlodipine from 10 mg a day to 5 and to come back in a couple of weeks. He also said he would write me a prescription for thyroid and for Tramadol when I needed it. He is a nice guy. Dennis told me he was just called as the bishop of his ward. My next appointment is August 26th at 1 p.m.

I walked from the Summit building to Walmart and got a little over a 1,000 steps. It was very smokey from the fires near Cibeque.

I did my shopping and James came in as I was checking out and carried out my groceries.

When we got home I took my T&T and laid down on the recliner. James brought in the groceries and put them away for me. When I felt better I got up and finished my 10,000 steps.

My new dress and the Batman towel I ordered for Addy's birthday were delivered to our door today.

Today is Pierce Goodman's and Cathy Arnett's birthdays. They are first cousins and Cathy is four years older than Pierce. Two of the nicest people I have ever known.

The Second Coming of the Lord

Up at 4:55. James is in the valley awaiting his hearing over the Darryl Johnson job. It begins at 9 a.m. He won't know the results for a week or so. He feels pretty good about how it went.  He and Armando are maintaining they finished the work and Darryl sabotaged it by going back and putting paint where it shouldn't be. Darryl calls them liars and says he is an honest man. Darryl has said his purpose for filing this complaint is to get even with James for filing a lien to collect some of the money he owed us. He is an unstable, selfish, vindictive man.

Everyone in our family is praying for James. Jared and Kacey fasted for him on Sunday. Paul said he prayed that the judge will have the gift of discernment. I love that!

At around 12:30 today I began preparing for my afternoon visits to the MacArthur's - CFM handouts and snickerdoodles, Catherine - "The Light We Share" book, pink heart-shaped jewelry box, and snickerdoodles, and Tignor's - vegetable soup and snickerdoodles.

James called and said he would be home by 3, and he was. He delivered the Tignor's soup and cookies and met their two new dogs. On the way to the Halcomb's I mailed Darrel & Trina's anniversary card and Rowan's birthday card at the Vernon post office.

I visited Catherine and Kerri and Catherine was so excited about her new hearing aids. She had to show me how they have a charging station. They seem to be working quite well for her. I left the Halcomb's and headed for the MacArthur's, hoping that James would meet me there. He didn't.

It is difficult for me to walk from my car to their house because they have big cinders that are difficult to walk on, especially when you have your hands full. I walked up to the door and knocked. There was no answer and it was very quiet. This was around 4:30 and I know the kids get home somewhere between 3:30-4. Just as I was leaving someone drove up on an ATV. The man introduced himself as their neighbor, Jody. I told him no one was home. He said, "Oh, they probably went on a buggy ride." By a buggy he meant their ATV. I agreed and we both left. When I got home James was there and said he saw the MacArthur's on their ATV.

Chelsea texted and said she was home. I told her I knocked and no one answered and so I left. I told her I wasn't feeling well and I would try again next week. We then settle on next Wednesday. They are coming to our house after dinner for FHE, a lesson, refreshments, and an activity outside.

I am hurting, especially my left arm. I need my heating pad, so I lie down on the recliner and take a nap. James waters my flowers and does the dishes and fixes his own dinner. I love my Sweetie. We had soup for dinner.

I did manage to finish my steps before going to bed.

I had my protein shake and T&T at 3:50 and went back to sleep and didn't get up until 5:14. I hurried to catch up all morning as my schedule starts at 4.  James had a miserable night. He was going to go to town at 6 this morning to get some lumber but he just wasn't feeling up to it. Instead I gave him a heat rub down and he laid in bed on the heating pad for awhile. He got up and we had prayer and our morning devotional. This part of the "Come Follow Me" lesson was on keeping a personal journal. President Wilford Woodruff kept a personal journal for 63 years. I rather enjoyed the message since I am a journal writer. After we were finished James said: "I guess this means I have to start writing in my journal again." I said, "I think so."

After our devotional James took T&T (Tramadol & Tylenol) and laid on the recliner with the heating pad. After about an hour he felt better and got up and worked on his hearing material. The manager of Darryl Johnson's building finally answered James's question as to whether she told Mr. Johnson not to give Lambson Construction a key as he, Mr. Johnson, said. She said she did not. This is the answer James has been waiting for.

We left for the temple around 11 and picked up Virgil Cooper on the way. We attended the 12:30 endowment session. I saw my friend Karen Gilliland and spoke to her. She said to me: "You have lost weight. Are you okay?" I assured her I was okay. We also saw the Klug's and Maxine Thompson. They come every Tuesday and try to do two ordinances. Maxine did two sealing sessions and the Klug's did two endowment sessions.

After our session was over we waited about 20 minutes for Virgil. James went in once to check on him and asked if he was okay. Virgil said: "Yes, just slow." James was a little stressed. We want to go eat and go home. He wants to leave for the valley by 5. His hearing is in the morning at 9 a.m. in Phoenix.

We ate at Eva's just ahead of a huge group of people we came in right after we did. James had a chicken enchilada with green sauce and a side of refried beans. Virgil had a green chili burro enchilada style and I had a chili relleno with green sauce. Yummy, delicious food. As I said before James was in a bit of a rush and he finished eating first. He didn't engage in conversation because that would take extra time. Virgil started talking to me about things that are going to happen before the Second Coming. He talked about the return of the Lost Ten Tribes which will be led by John the Revelator, the return of the city of Enoch, and then he said the city of Salem where Melchizedek was king will also return. I had never heard this before and told him so. I decided I would go home and listen to Brother Gerald Lund's book, "The Second Coming of our Lord" and see what he has to say about it.

Again we had to wait for Virgil again, this time to finish his dinner.
James let me run in to Walmart to get some zucchini and green onions so I can make vegetable soup for the Tignor's. Barbara wasn't at church today because she has shingles.

We were home by 4:20 instead of 4 as we had planned but James still left for the valley on time, at 5 p.m., in my car. He arrived safely at Stacy's where he is staying and he had a meeting with Armando around 8:30 p.m. to plan their strategy for tomorrow. We are all praying for him.

Up at 4, onward & upward! It's a new day with new possibilities! I am so grateful for my life and all of my blessings.

The first thing I saw this morning was Max's response to yesterdays' scripture question. I want to share it here:
I haven't been keeping up these past few days because I have been so busy.
I immediately got whole body chills while starting verse 4 (Now ye see that this is the true faith of God; yea, ye see that God will support, and keep, and preserve us, so long as we are faithful unto him, and unto our faith, and our religion; and never will the Lord suffer that we shall be destroyed except we should fall into transgression and deny our faith.) I think we learn to just have faith above all else from these verses. We do not need to worry if we live righteously, everything will turn out okay. God has a plan for us if we are willing to place our faith in him. I got an overwhelming sense of peace while reading. I have been struggling recently with anxiety and depression, overthinking tings, stressing out and having trouble sleeping, trying to calm my mind. These verses helped me to block out all my overwhelming thoughts and focus just on the present. Everything is alright. I know I am a child of God. I know I can be forgiven and do better. I will try my best to be more faithful. Going forward I have so much to look forward to and feel excited about. God has brought me a great happiness I searched for for a long time in the social and material things of the world, but never found.
God has brought me peace.

I feel the sincerity of what Max is saying. He isn't afraid to share his ups and downs and weaknesses. The important thing is he now has faith in God and that is bringing him peace.

James got a heat rub on his back and both of his hands before leaving for Hipps's.  He was back around 11 and I was just finishing up a blog post. By the time I get to the kitchen to see if he wants me to fix him something to eat he has fixed himself a Beddar Cheddar Turkey Sausage on a bun with mustard and relish. I got back to my peanut butter apple and celery.

Tom has been sleeping on his chair at the high table. As soon as I sit down on the family room recliner he is right there with me. First he makes "biscuits" and then he circles around lying down with his tail in my face. When I get up, he moves to the bed with James.

My dear sweet friend Winna Ulmer posted Hope's picture on Facebook with the caption that she has been missing from her family for three months and was last seen in Chandler. She makes it shareable and there were over 450 shares. I shared it and then posted it on the family thread.

While I walk today I listen to the book, "To Win a Lady's Heart." I have read it before but since I don't remember much it's like reading a new book. I also listened to "Follow Him." The  guest this week is Robert Freeman who wrote a book called, "Saints at War."

This evening James is working on the shelves for the tack room. I vacuumed our bedroom and picked up a ton of cat hair. I started working on cleaning out my closet, a project I've had since the beginning of the year, when James came in and wanted some dinner. His dinner is ready and now he is in the shower.

James and I are going to the temple tomorrow and taking Virgil Cooper with us. The earliest session I could  get was the 12:30.

Up @ 4:41 already had T&T, I went straight to my desk to have my prayers. Prayer, D&C, CFM, BM & R.E.J., "Spiritual Treasures".
Marinate chicken. get ready to go to my meetings. I got a call from Brother Steve Allen who is a counselor in the bishopric. He asked if I would be a presenter at the 5th Sunday presentation on home scripture study. I said I would be happy to. He said he and Brother Knight, our high councilman would be the other presenters. He would have more information forthcoming.

I said a prayer before we left for church. A few minutes later James asks me if I am going to pray. I told him that I already did. He looks confused and says he doesn't remember. When we arrive at the parking lot and park our car, before getting out he asks me to offer another prayer, which I did. I am a little worried about this.

Bishop Hunsaker had to shush us during the prelude. People were talking louder and louder over the music. It was much better after the shush.

Today is Fast & Testimony meeting. Bishop expressed his gratitude for all of the support received for the Vernon Day celebration yesterday. Paula Johnson, who is the president of the park and in charge of Vernon Day said it was the best they have had for 20 years. The main purpose of Vernon Day is to raise money for the park. Bishop called it part of the "Hear Him" initiative and a missionary tool.

John Wilhelm taught Sunday School today. It was rather last minute but he did a good job because he knows how to ask questions. He is the Sunday School president.

At 11:30 we attended Brother Lauritzen's marriage class. I was surprised by how many people attended. Here are the people I remember being in the class. Since I sat in the front I may have missed some of those sitting in the back: Oksana, Lynda Finnell, Tamara Applegate, Alicia Hunsaker, (Bishop came for a short while but then had to leave), the Diewalds, Lorraine Vaught, Teresa Hein Brother Lauritzen's wife Rosie, Susan & Jeff Crane, the Frost's and sister Frosts parents who are visiting, the Flakes, and John and Sandra Wilhelm.

James and I get in to a little argument on the way home. Not a good since we just got out of a marriage class.

We have no clouds and no rain today. It is becoming quite a concern as the monsoon usually starts around July 20th.

We break out fast and have grilled chicken, and strawberry spinach salad for lunch. After the kitchen is clean it is time for some Rest & Reading. Then it's time to work on my blog. I text Kacey to see if we can Face Time today. She asks if we can do it right now. James is still sleeping. When he wakes up I text them and soon we are connecting via Face Time. Here is a brief summary of our Face Time.

The first face we see is Mason's. He is looking at us and smiling but he doesn't wave. Charlie is very afraid of the storms they are having and today she, along with Jared & Kacey fasted that she would no longer be afraid. The other night she woke up very frightened because she thought a tree was going to fall on the house. Charlie also got her ears pierced, something she has been wanting to do for a long time. When she goes to the library with her mom Kacey tells her she can check out six chapter books. She reads them all in one day. She and Scarlett played the "Finding Jesus" game the other day. They looked for Jesus by doing service for other people, mainly Jared & Kacey since that is who they were with. Charlie sang, "I Love to See the Temple" for us at the end of our call.
They are going to Bentonville this week to attend the temple with Kristine's son who is going on a mission. Autumn is doing well physically but her anxiety attacks are coming back. Mason comes to visit on Sunday evenings. Tanner is no longer living with them but they hope he will come and visit while Mason is here. Mason loves him. So grateful we got to connect with our Texas family. We so enjoyed talking with them and miss them very much. Oh yes, Kacey is happy about Summer's engagement to Johnny or JB as they call him. He is not LDS but is religious and is a good influence on Summer. Baby Benson is adorable!

Something I wanted to mention earlier but will do so now. Catherine Halcomb was not at church. Kerri says her hip is bothering her. This is something new and I will check in on her this week.

Also, Winna Ulmer bore her testimony and said her granddaughter, Hope Lootans has been missing for three months. Hope was one of my young women when I served as a counselor in that organization. I put her name on the temple prayer roll.

I blogged July 27th at a slow pace and start July 28th but I am falling asleep. I take a shower and that helps for awhile but soon I am falling asleep again. We have prayer and go to bed.
