Temple Name:

3 Nephi 27:13-33
How can you strive to be more like Christ in your life?
* President Ezra Taft Benson said that, "The entire ministry of the Master was characterized by His voluntary subordination to His Heavenly Father's will and in the Savior's own words, 'I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me...for I do always the things that please Him' (John 8:28-29).  Christ was not only perfectly obedient, but maybe even more importantly, perfectly trusting.  So if we choose, like Jesus Christ, to trust more completely, to follow more obediently, and to make doing the will of our Father the core motivation behind decision-making, focus, thoughts, actions, and if we make understanding His will our very purpose, what could the ripple effect of that be?  Would we become more like the Savior?  Would we be cultivation and deepening Christlike virtues such as truth, wisdom, patience, kindness, gentleness, love, godliness, faith and self-control?  Would we be more completely and exactly following the Savior's example?  Would we experience deeper peace, happiness, and joy?  Elder Maxwell said: "Only by aligning our wills with God's is full happiness to be found...progression toward submission confers...an enhanced capacity for joy."

GC:     "Abide in My Love" by Elder D. Todd Christofferson
' If ye keep my commandents, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in
His love.  To continue in or abide in the Savior's love means to receive His grace and be perfected by it.'

Jared and Kacey are in San Antonio today with their kids.  From what I can tell it looks like they had a good time.  Hopefully Jared will send me some pictures soon.

While working on my blog I watched  a couple of Christmas movies: "The Best Christmas Party Ever," "Annie Claus Is Coming to Town," and "Farewell Mr. Kringle."

I spent most of the day preparing for my Primary lesson: "Mormon Witnesses the Destruction of the Nephites."  It is a rather discouraging lesson compared to the ones about the Savior's visit to the Nephites.

This is James's favorite place to study for his lesson:

Someone posted a picture of Michael on Facebook:
Michael is on the left.
Such a handsome guy if he would only cut his hair.

I discovered something online today,
Dumbledorisms:
One of my favorite Harry Potter characters!

Darrel is still in Heaven.

There was a Lantern Festival in Casa Grande tonight.
My friend Trenda posted some pictures.

Trenda and her cousin Cheyenne

It reminds me of the movie "Tangled."
I have always wanted to go to a Lantern Festival
since seeing "Tangled."

"Let us commit to give a most meaningful gift to the Lord.  Let us give Him our lives, our sacrifices.  Those who do so will discover that He can make a lot more out of their lives than they can."
-President Ezra Taft Benson

We slept in today because we were pretty tired from our trip.  James got up to work on the fireplace.  He had to make a trip into town because they gave him the wrong size trim.  Finally they agree to give him a refund.  He brings me back a drink and I didn't even ask!

Trina and Lola go into town to shop at Walmart and to take lunch to Darrel at CVS.
Back at the cabin the kids and I watched "Nightmare Before Christmas".  I had never watched it all the way through before.  Weird is all I can say.
Ruby helping grandpa work on the fireplace.
Rowan went in the bedroom to watch Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince while Addy watched "Elf" in the family room.
Ruby also worked at her "desk".  Actually my desk.  She had postie
notes sticking everywhere with words and names on them.
James went on the house this afternoon using a ladder to do something for the fireplace and Ruby told him they needed to talk.  She took him upstairs in his office while she sat in his big chair and he sat across from her.  She gave him some Post It's and told him to take notes on the things she told him:
1.)  Be more careful.
2.) Get some help next time.
3.) Use a rope so he won't fall.
4.) Don't slide off because it's dangerous.
5.) Stay away from ladders.  Don't climb in the house or onto the roof.  Such good advice from one so young!
This afternoon Trina made cookies and the kids cut them out and decorated them.
Frosting them was the most fun.
Of course Lola is right there trying to get in on all the fun.
Addy and I tried to do a Christmas puzzle but we didn't finish.
Lola is the life of every party!
Ruby doesn't like to hear the balloon pop!
After cookies, games, and dinner.  We all settled down
to watch "The Christmas Dragon".
 Christmas caroling!
