I like love and money too.

Alma 32: 21-43
21 - Faith is not a perfect knowledge of things.  If ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true.
22 - God is merciful unto all who believe on His name.
23 - He imparteth His word by angels unto men, women, and children.
26 - Ye cannot know of my words surety at first, unto perfection, any more than faith is a perfect knowledge.
27 - Awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.
28 - The word is compared to a seed.  If ye don't cast it out, but nurture it, if it is a good see it will begin to swell within your breast and it will begin to enlighten your understanding.
29 - This would increase your faith even though it is not a perfect knowledge.
30 - As the seed grows ye must say it is good.  Will not this strengthen your faith?
32 - If a seed groweth it is good, but if it doesn't grow it is not good and ye must cast it out.
34 - Is your knowledge perfect?  You knowledge is perfect in that thing.  You know that the word has swelled your soul and your mind doth begin to expand.
35 - After ye have tasted of this light is your knowledge perfect?
36 - No, it is not.  Ye must not lay aside your faith.  There is so much more to believe in!
37 - If ye nourish it with great care ii will get root, and grow up, and bring forth fruit.
38 - If ye neglect the tree it will not get any root.
39 - It's not because the seed wasn't good.  It's because your ground is barren, and ye will not nourish the tree, therefore ye cannot have the fruit thereof.
40 - If you won't nourish the word, looking forward with an eye of faith to the fruit thereof, ye can never pluck of the fruit of the tree of life.
41 - If ye nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with patience, looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree springing up unto everlasting life.
42 - . . . by and by ye shall pluck the fruit thereof, which is most precious, which is sweet above all that is sweet, and which is white above all that is white, and pure above all that is pure; and ye shall feast upon this fruit even until ye are filled, that ye hunger not, neither shall ye thirst.
43 - Then ye shall reap the rewards of your faith, diligence, patience and long-suffering waiting for the tree to bring forth fruit unto you.

The world seems to be at war.
This sweet little face should make you smile.

I listened to several articles in this month's Ensign and I must say I am excited about the new Church history museum in Salt Lake.  I mentioned it to James and he says: "Let's start saving our money to go to conference." I talked to Kim.  She and Kim are going to conference and she suggested I reserve a hotel room and then if we don't go we can cancel it.  Brian actually did it for me.  We will be staying at the Marriott with them if we go.  I am so excited!

This is Dallin and his band getting ready to go our tour.
Pretty exciting!

I got this quote from an article in this month's Ensign:
"Saints are to become focal points of light and power." - Elder Marion D. Hanks.

I dusted and polished the wood floor in the living/family room today.  I also clean the deck and patio.  Dennis and Jenifer are coming tomorrow and then Sheri and Ian the next day.

There were rain clouds and a little thunder today, but no rain.

I love this picture that I found on the internet.
Baby hedgehog?

James's "work in progress."

I worked on my Primary lesson today.  I also waited for James and Evan, Joshua and Max to get here, but I was just too tired.  They didn't get here until after 11.

Our taco Tuesday was a day late because we knew
we would be here today.  We can't seem to drive past
here without stopping.
We each had a mixed green burro, a taco and a side of refried beans.
Oh, did I mention this is the famous Burger House in Miami, Arizona.  We were on our way to Vernon.  James is working on our taxes and there is some information we need at the cabin.  We are off to a good start with this delicious lunch!

Our first stop in Vernon is at the post office where I have a package waiting.  Carmen sent me some dahlia bulbs.  Oh dear, I guess she doesn't know I am in the valley right now.  Maybe I can plant them down there in a pot and bring them up here this summer.

The first thing James did when he got to the cabin was go check his outdoor cameras to see if he got any pictures of wildlife.  I settled down to watch the 10th anniversary edition of Dancing with the Stars.  I wanted to see Maks and Merle dance.  They were great!

James and I both watched "When Calls the Heart" our Canadian Mountie series about a little town in Canada back in the early 1900's called Coal Valley.  It's one of those Hallmark shows that we like so well.
Look who Max and Joshua met up with at Discovery Park.
It's baby Benjamin only he's not a baby anymore.

Evan making his pig faces.

 Happy Halloween everyone!

The low this morning was 21 degrees, but at least there isn't any wind.

I love this quote by President Hunter.

I have discovered the Mormon Channel app for my phone thanks to my friend Karen Schneider.  Today I listened to an interview and song by Brooke White.  I also heard a story about a little boy names Ryan who is helping to raise money to build wells in Africa.  He started the project when he was 6 years old. Wow!

James had an appointment in town at 10 am today with someone concerning the Horne job.  I didn't go because I felt like I had too many things to do to get ready for our Young Women's Book of Mormon breakfast on Saturday.  Also I set a goal at the beginning of October to index 200 names and as of this morning I still had 67 to go.  I did finish!  I worked on a Maine cemetery project which was fun because the names were type writeen and therefore very legible!

James and I continue to read the Book of Mormon, a conference talk everyday, and we are re-reading Victoria Holt's "The Mistress of Mellyn."  When I was a teenager my grandma Strickland, Nannie, let me read her copy of The Mistress of Mellyn.  She is the one that got me started on Victoria Holt's books.  What do I like about them?  There is always a mystery to solve, some romance, which isn't too racy, and usually an old English manor to explore.  The Mistress of Mellyn contains all of these elements!

Max is learning how to cook.  This week he helped his mom make baked ziti for dinner.
Master Chef Jr. here he comes!

Guess who learned to ride a two wheel bike?
It's Miss Ruby!!

Since it's Halloween I wanted to post some Halloween pictures.
James and I took the left over candy from last night's Mutual
activity to the Vernon Park where the Vernon School
was having a carnival.  While there we saw this monster:
Colter Hunsaker

Happy May Day!
Sheri got the morning off because they had an extra person a work.  I had a coupon for one free breakfast at Mimi's so around 10:30 I picked Sheri and Evan up and we headed for Mimi's.  I had scrambled eggs, bacon and cinnamon blueberry french toast topped with a lovely cream cheese concotion.  It was delicious.  Oh yes, we had to buy two drinks.  Sheri had orange juice and I had diet coke.  Sheri had the lowfat omlet with wheat toast.  She had the low cal meal and I had the no-cal drink.  Makes sense.

Today James was talking on the phone and Josh was playing Angry Birds on my phone.  Josh got excited and was a little loud and grandpa told him to be quiet because he was on the phone.  Later grandpa was on the phone again and Josh got excited again.  This time Evan said: "Josh, you know grandpa is on the phone and you need to be quiet."  Later when Max came home from school he came down to play.  Max was the Dad,(a professional football player), Evan the oldest boy and Josh the baby.  They were the Saker's, James, Rico, and Kai.  I loved listening to the dialogue as they were playing.  It was hilarious!  At one point Evan said: "You have been sitting in front of that TV all morning!"

I listened to two conference talks today: Elder Holland's and Elder Hale's.  I love the fact that I can listen to them on my phone.  I put my earphones in while I am doing yardwork and I feel like I am multi-tasking.
