What are some things I am looking forward to during the Second Coming and Millennium?

How are we accomplishing the will of Him who sent us?
Talk: "Waiting Upon the Lord:Thy Will Be Done"

"We need to acknowledge the centrality of God our Eternal Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, to our faith and salvation.
Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer.
We need to study and understand His Atonement and how to apply it daily; repentance is one of the greatest blessings each of us has to stay on course.  We need to see Jesus Christ as our primary
role model and the example of who we need to become.
We need to continually teach our families and classes about our Father's great plan of salvation, which includes the
doctrine of Christ."

On the way to my infusion this morning Jean Howard cancelled our lunch date for today.  She has a doctor's appointment in Phoenix.  Hopefully I can see her in Vernon later in the month.

My infusion goes well.  Kim, the new nurse who is here instead of Kwanda, finds a vein and I barely feel a prick.

Afterwards I head back to Chandler.  James had put the sheets on the bed after I washed them and he had washed the towels and rugs from the bathroom.  This was all done while he was sick!  Oh yes, he also had his snowman comforter on the bed.

We packed up and loaded the car and dropped off birthday gifts to Sheri and Stacy.  I will mail Trina's since we aren't going home her way.  James wrote the sweetest message to Sheri.  We visited Stacy, Jared Ammon, Michael and Shipley.  Paul was at work, Joshua was at school, and Adam was at work at his new job at a bank in Mesa.  I think he said it was TCF Bank.

We had lunch at Jersey Mike's and had a visit with the realtors' who sold our house Brad and Jen McClay.  Jen said the people who bought the house absolutely love it and plan on living there for a long time.  I loved that house too.

Home Sweet Home

After lunch James and I both stopped for gas at Sam's Club.
I told him I was going the Payson way and he said he would follow me.  I told him he didn't have to but I was grateful that he did.

I stopped at McDonald's in Payson for an ice cream cone and James took a short nap in his truck.  We stopped in Heber to put air in my back tire.  When we got to Vernon there was antelope and elk in the highway 60 field.  Lots of the snow had melted.  When we get home we unload and put things away.  I read from "Boys in the Boat" and then we watch a Hallmark movie, "Anything But Love" starring Paul Green and Erica Christensen, then it's off to bed.

We attended the Galveston 3rd ward today and sat by Cathi, Laura, and Bremen.  I got to see Max pass the sacrament for the first time since he was ordained a deacon.

Isaac Dowdle and the Jiminez's spoke on centering our lives on Christ.  It was based on Elder Maynes conference talk.  Laura and Bremen left after sacrament meeting but Cathi stayed with us.  James, Cathi, and I all went to Elder Hirt's gospel doctrine class together.  The lesson was on 1st and 2nd Peter and we discussed what we need to do to make our "calling and election" sure.  Elder Hirt is a very good teacher.  We had his daughter Callie in our Primary class when we taught Primary in this ward.

During Relief Society Cathi and I sat by Lynda Cull who was sitting in the front all by herself.  Gerry Price gave the Ezra Taft Benson lesson on Self-Reliance and did an outstanding job.  She is such a good teacher and it was a great lesson, one that I needed to hear!

Cathi came home with us.  James had some lunch and then he and I went down to Sheri's to get some stuff we left there after Thanksgiving.  He is going to take it home with him.  Ian was outside painting when we got to Sheri's.  James mentioned that he was painting the planter the wrong color.  I guess he wasn't in a good mood because his response was rather sharp.  I just walked right in the house.  I felt bad for James.

James left for home around 3:30.  I think he was anxious to see his brothers and help Dave and the boys find their elk.

Sheri invited Cathi and I down for dinner.  She made meatball subs, and they were delicious!
Cathi and I both want the recipe!
We stayed and visited with Sheri for a little while.  The boys were watching football.  The Cardinals just beat the 49ers and the Broncos wind up beating the Patriot's.  Of course Brian is happy about the Broncos and Alex is a little upset because he is a Patriot's fan.

Cathi and I went home and watched a couple of Christmas movies before going to bed.

President Packer says before we study the Book of Mormon
we need to study the Plan of Salvation.  Since we are studying the Book of Mormon this year in our FHE's with our children and grandchildren this will be on the front of the study journals I give to each family.

Since today is fast Sunday I wanted to include a couple of quotes regarding fasting:
"Fasting, coupled with mighty prayer, is powerful.  It can fill our minds with the revelations of the Spirit.  It can strengthen us against times of temptation."
-Joseph B. Wirthlin
"One reason fasting is such a source of spiritual strength is tat we take advantage of all the continual reminders our bodies give us, and use them as reminders to pray.  Without prayer, fasting is simply missing a couple of meals."
-Beppie Harrison

I woke up this morning thinking about the miracles of Jesus and wondering how James Hayden is doing in school.

I love this quote I found on Facebook by Audrey Hepburn:

"As you grow older you will discover you have two hands.  One for helping yourself and one for helping others."

James bore his testimony in sacrament meeting today and so did Laura.  Laura reminded me of an angel.

I really enjoyed Brother Dowdle's Sunday School lesson on being "Born Again."  He showed two Bible videos, one of the Savior teaching Nicodemus and one of him teaching The Woman at the Well.  The script was taken directly from John 3-4.
Debbie Leib gave the lesson in Relief Society on the Plan of Salvation.  It was a good lesson.  I visited with Shellie Seymore and Laurie Jensen.

James and I fasted for Dallin until about 5pm.  For dinner we had my leftovers from Olive Garden and some avocado and cottage cheese.  Sheri brought over some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies which were delicious.  Later Evan brought me a Dr. Pepper 10.

James and I did not watch the Superbowl but I was secretly hoping the Seahawks would win.  The final score was 28-24 with the Patriot's winning.

Joshua and Evan had fun with the building blocks today.
