My visiting teacher, Alicia Hunsaker came by for a visit this morning.  Leann was going to come with her but she had to go out and help her Dad on a concrete pour.  Alicia brought her 4 year old son, Colter.  He was so well behaved!  We had a nice visit.  I guess Alicia's partner Linda Price is in the valley.  I miss her.

Since I missed So You Think You Can Dance last night I watched it this morning.  I loved Witney and Cheon's dance to Whitney Houston's song "I Will Always Love You."  I am sure I will watch it over and over again.

James and I went on a Ranger ride this afternoon.  We we afraid it was going to rain on us so we weren't gone long.  Along the way we stopped and picked up trash, beer and soda cans, and water bottles.
A picture of James with our collection of trash.

I talked to Karen Schneider today.  She had just come from visiting Judy Pargetter.  Judy's little grandson Nathan Thompson is losing his eyesight.  Such a tragedy for a family who has already suffered so much.

I also want to thank Drea for sending me the link for a talk by Elder Richard G. Scott from the October 1995 General Conference entitled "Trust in the Lord."  I love this talk which helps to strengthen my faith.

Also texted with my friend Paula Casto.  She and her daughter are going to come up for a visit on August 25th.  I can hardly wait!

This is a picture of James making me one of my favorite treats, chocolate covered strawberries.  He even made some from my friend Paula Casto.  I took the first season of Downton Abbey over to Paula this evening and James sent her over some strawberries.  He is so thoughtful.

James and I had lunch at Applebee's today.  I had their shrimp and spinach salad which is really very tasty.  I wanted to get in my veggies for the week.  Why do so many of my posts involve food?  Because I love to eat so much!

Sunday March 11, 2012

I put a roast in the oven yesterday afternoon around 4:30 and let it cook on 200 for 12 hours. This morning I shredded it and added green chilies, onions, Sheri's homemade salsa and some bottled green chili salsa and mixed it all together. I will shred some cheese and heat up some tortilla's and walla, dinner is served. Yes, it was just as delicious as it sounds.
Today was (dry) oops, I mean high council Sunday. We got lucky. We had two great speakers, Alex Tolman and Bob Kaufman. They both talked about the Savior and the Atonement.
I sat by Paula Casto during Brother Ellsworth's Sunday School lesson. She is upset because the bishop just told her she couldn't have her temple sealing cancelled until she gets remarried. Her husband is now married to someone else. I told her that things would work out and she wasn't going to be with anyone she didn't want to be with.
Cathi gave the lesson in Relief Society on the Priesthood. Terry went home to stay with her Mom. She has to have someone with her at all times now. She can't really do anything for herself anymore. Hospice is going to come in several times a week and help with her.
Stacy didn't go to Church today because she wasn't feeling well. Joshua sat with us and was very good. Michael and Dallin sat in front by themselves.
James went home teaching to the Baxter's this afternoon. It was his last visit with them and they are very sad to be losing him as their home teacher.
