Jesus Christ betrayal of
Mark 11:18
And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people were astonished at his doctrine.
Book of Mormon
Mosiah 18:1-16
* What does it mean to you to bear, mourn, comfort, and stand as a witness?
- alaynaleilanie: "We often forget that part of the baptismal covenant is to mourn with those that mourn and comfort those that stand in need of comfort. Alma reminds us of this important principle. Someone has said that people would rather be understood than be loved. In truth, the surest way to increase our love for someone is to listen with patience and respect. I believe that our baptismal covenant demands this. How can we 'mourn with those that mourn' and bear one another's burdens' if we don't listen to know what those burdens are? Neal A. Maxwell said: "It is abundantly clear, therefore, that we have a duty to comfort others, to mourn with them, to serve them, and to help them. When there is so much to do to help others, there is little time for self-pity. To stand as witnesses of God at all times I believe can be achieved as we bear one another's burdens. As we mourn and offer comfort aren't we standing as a witness?
Old Testament
1 Samuel 1
Hannah prays for a son and vows to give him to the Lord - Eli the priest blesses her - Samuel is born - Hannah loans him to the Lord.

"Behold the Man!"
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf
" Those who find a way to truly behold the Man find the doorway to life's greatest joys and the balm to life's most demanding despairs."

From "Rescuing Wayward Children:"
" No power is greater than priesthood power to rescue the wayward and bring them to Christ."
"Worthy men and women are endowed with keys of revelation to personally save their children, others for whom they have stewardship, and themselves. (217-19).
"Priesthood power comes by becoming godly. Temple keys are keys to salvation."

Russell M. Nelson: #29, 10/98, "We Are Children of God."

I went outside and walked until my soundtrack was finished. I ended up with 8,000 steps. Came back in and began baking rolls. Some were small and the last batch were large because I let them rise longer.

Dave and Terry did some target practicing today.

This afternoon I took a nap and then got up and played a game of Five Crowns with Cathi, Terry, Dave, and Laura. James was busy getting ready for his job that starts on Monday. I ended up winning the game!

Terry showed us something on our phones family tree app. We opened it up and then went to "Relatives Around Me." I was related to Cathi, Laura, and of course Dave and Terry. It was so much fun. Cathi and I are 9th cousins once removed and Laura and I are 12th cousins.

Brother Wallace told James he could use his Case tractor for his job but first he, Brother Wallace, had to go get it at Brother Mayfield's.

Dave and Laura brought homemade Sloppy Joe mix from home and warmed it up for dinner. It was delicious. We also had salad, carrots, and tomatoes.

After dinner I went for another walk and then came in and made two batches of muffins, one blueberry and the other banana nut to take with us tomorrow to the temple.

We said our goodbye's because we will be gone before most everyone, except David, gets up.

Ollie in his natural habitat.

Everyday hero.

I told Cathi I was making her a pair of these
for Christmas. Ha!

These girls went to the temple together.

This guy babysat so they could go.
There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby
and this one is adorable!

Atonement
Ephesians 2:16
And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Alma 32:21-43
*How do we plant spiritual "seeds?"
27 But behold, if ye will awake and arouse your faculties, even to an experiment upon my words, and exercise a particle of faith, yea, even if ye can no more than desire to believe, let this desire work in you, even until ye believe in a manner that ye can give place for a portion of my words.
DC 101:51-62
63-75, The Saints are to continue gathering together;
How can we stay stronger amid the chaos that is around us?
*"Peace, it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart." We can gain that peace by doing those things that make our soul happy...reading scriptures, praying, service, going to church, etc...When we are at peace, it doesn't matter what chaos is billowing all around us. We are grounded and strong because of our choices.

" Verily, verily I say nto you, The Son can do nothig of Himself, but what He seeth the Father do: for what things soever He doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise." -John 5:19

I had my infusion this morning at 9:30.
Afterwards James and I went to lunch at Pei Wei. I have been craving their lettuce wraps and spicy chicken salad. Both were delicious!

When we got home we took a nap and then I had a date with Ruby.
When I get to Darrel and Trina's I am bombarded with hugs and kisses from four sweet kids. Trina was at work and Darrel was with the kids. I should have taken some pictures.

Ruby and I headed to Deseret Book to get her some scriptures. Ruby is getting baptized tomorrow. We saw Cathi while we were shopping and Ruby invited her to her baptism.
Ruby picked out the maroon leather quad. While we are waiting for her name to be imprinted We do a little more shopping and then as we leave I suggest that we go to Kneader's and get everyone some brownies.
Ruby is so worried that I am going to spend too much money on her. I love that about her. We buy a dozen brownies and head back to take Ruby home. On the way Ruby says: "Oh grandma, these scriptures are so soft." Such a sweet girl.

I called my friend Charlotte and talked with her while driving home. When I tell her I need to go she says a quick goodbye and hangs up. It makes me feel bad.

James painted his water trailer and is getting ready to sell it. I work on my blog for July 1st and 2nd. It is so hot, something is wrong with Cathi and Terry's air conditioner, they go to bed at 8.

James was hungry so I asked Cathi if he could have some ziti. Of course she said yes.

Jared and Kacey got a house. They move in tomorrow.

Random Photos:

She was asleep when we got home.
Darrel sent me this picture.
