This is a '57 Chevy for those of you who are too young to remember.  Even though I was a teenager in the '60's, this was the car of my dreams.  My older cousin, Danny Strickland, had one and I wanted to buy it from him.  When I asked,  he said it was a stick shift, which was fine because I learned to drive on a stick shift but Danny was a race car driver and he had it all "souped up" and was afraid it would be too much car for me.  I was disappointed.  One of my dreams that was never realized.  I still love this car!

James is on a roll.  He fixed delicious scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning.  He has to leave for Chandler, so I drive with him to get another rental car at Hatch Motors, to drive while I am here alone.
They didn't have any red '57 Chevy's, so
I settled for a Toyota Corolla.
James and I say goodbye in the Hatch Motors parking lot as he heads to Chandler and I head to Walmart.  Why do I buy so many sweets and carbs?

On the ride home to Vernon I enjoy the scenery, especially all the fields of yellow flowers.
 Sunflowers and small yellow daisies!
Blogger is driving me crazy, first I couldn't post pictures.  I solved that problem but now I have another problem.  I can't type labels for my posts.  I am not sure if it is Blogger or Internet Explorer, but it's driving me crazy!

The reason I stayed here in Vernon is to make sure the house is ready and there are clean sheets on all the beds for our company this weekend.  Also, I am going to lunch tomorrow with my brothers and their wives.  I do a little bit of cleaning then I stop to watch a movie or do something else I enjoy.  Today I watched two movies, "Recipe for Love", and "That Robbins Girl."  I get lonely when I am here alone and having the TV on helps.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I knew James was leaving for the valley today so I got up and made him breakfast, bacon, eggs, and biscuits.  Of course I had to eat some too.  I made myself a bacon and egg biscuit.  Quite tasty.  After breakfast we read our scriptures and from the book The Time Keeper.  We are on track to finish the Book of Mormon together for the second time this year.

James didn't leave until 2:30.  He had lots of business to take care of first.  I started decorating the tree and making a Christmas card list.  It was nice today with the high around 48.  That is good weather as long as the wind isn't blowing.

My Christmas movie was "A Boyfriend for Christmas."  It was good and was filmed in Salt Lake because they showed a picture of the Salt Lake temple.

I had a hard time going to sleep.  I have this problem of seeing people in my room.  Tonight after I did go to sleep I woke up and thought I saw a guy in a baseball cap looking at me.  The other night it was someone coming through a trap door in the ceiling.  It is always men.  I woke James up last week and said: "I'm in a bind.  Someone is in our room and I am not dressed."  Well I guess it keeps life interesting.

After reading our scriptures and having prayer and reading from our Victoria Holt novel, James left for Chandler,  which means I will be here alone until he gets back on Friday evening.  He is going down to help Alex Braddock with his Eagle Scout project, to clear off Nathan's lot, and to finish cleaning his office.  I could have gone with him but I wanted to stay here and get some things put away and to enjoy the quiet and beautiful surroundings.  I also watched several episodes of America's Got Talent.  I am fascinated with Sharon Osbourne's hair.  Don't ask me why.  Boy you sure have to watch alot of hokey acts to see a few that really reflect some talent.  One of my favorites was a father and daughter who sang together.  The girl had a wonderful voice.  They are street performers and it would be wonderful if they could become more successful.  The audience and judges also loved them.  Howard Stern is the new judge taking Pierce Morgan's place.  I didn't think I would like him at all, but he has some redeeming qualities and I like him better than Pierce. I also like Nick Cannon, the host.  The show is goofy, and I don't know why I watch it.  I guess I just keep thinking I'm going to see some real talent.  I also watched So You Think You Can Dance which is still in the tryout phase.  I got a kick out of the Ninja twins and was surprised when they turned them down because they were a couple of years over the age limit.  I wonder if we have seen the end of them.  They were very popular and highly entertaining.
Stacy called today and said she was taking Paul to the hospital because he was very sick.  The doctor's think he might have chron's disease or an ulcer.  He went home but he has to go see a specialist.
