Sheri's quote:
Elder Vinson's talk in the October 2013 conference called 'Drawing Closer to God' was all about adversity and just what I needed to hear today.  He says:
"The Lord gives us ways to help remember Him and His sustaining powers.  One way is through that common lot we all share - adversity (see Alma 32:6).  As I look back at the trials I have faced, it is clear that they have resulted in my growth, understanding, and empathy.  They have drawn me closer to my Heavenly Father and His Son with experiences and refining engraved into my heart."

I read to James from our new book, "The Baron's Honourable Daughter" before he left for the valley.  We also had family prayer.  He will listen to his scriptures in the car and I will read mine at home. We are in 3rd Nephi and 2 Corinthians.  Goodbye Honey, I will see you tomorrow!

  New author for us
Today I worked on my blog, read from "Jesus the Christ", and listened to two conference talks from the priesthood session, Elder Gibson and President Uchtdorf.  I also watched an episode of "Chopped", a "Garage Sale Mystery: The Wedding Dress", and "Here Comes the Nanny", starring Cameron Mathison.  I saved the Garage Sale Mystery for James to watch because I liked it so much and thought he would too.
I did several loads of laundry and almost decided to go to Chandler because I was so lonely.  I also talked to Laura and told her that we sold the house.  I hope the inspection goes well tomorrow.

I called all the sisters I visit teach and only Hailey Chafin called me back.  I have an appointment to visit her next Tuesday with James.  My partner, Lorraine Tieman will be out of town.

Terry had his 8th heart stint put in.  He seems to be doing very well.  Dave says he always has a proceedure done right before they go hunting.
The elk are lonely tonight because James is not here calling to them.

Rowan has been asking to go fishing since Monday when they got here.  James left for the valley early this morning and of course Darrel is at work so that means it's up to Trina and I to take the kids fishing.
I had a visiting teaching appointment at 10 am and we planned on leaving after I returned home.  I met Eileen Duggins at the church a little before 10 and we drove across the street to Lannie Gillespie's only to find that she wasn't home. How embarrassing for me because I am the one that made the appointment.  We left a card with our names and phone numbers on it.  So for visiting teaching this month I am one for three.  I'm not off to a very good start in my new ward.
Again Trina packed us a lunch and we drove to Springerville where she stopped at the Western Drug to get a fishing license because James told her she needed one if Rowan was going to fish. (Later we found out she didn't need a fishing license for the kids to fish!)  When we got to Greer the creek was closed and we didn't want to fish below the bridge because we figured it was private property.
We decided to drive to drive to Sheep's Crossing but a couple of miles in a road closed sign was posted.  By this time the kids were pretty sick of being in the car but we still had a long ways to go. We decided to go to Show Low Lake.  The spot we picked was next to the boat dock and was very rocky.  Let's just say the only thing that was hooked was my finger, but I wasn't hurt.  We used power bait without sinkers which is a boo boo according to one of the teenage boys who helped us.  The trip home the kids were pretty quiet and I must say they were good sports for as long as they were in the car.  Rowan says it wasn't a total loss because they saw a water snake.

I went to bed early last night so I could get up at 4am and do my gospel study.  At 7am James and I started out on a walk.  He went about half a mile or so and was in so much pain he turned around after sitting on the ground for awhile and went back.  I went 3 miles.  I was tired and sore afterwards so I took a bath in the jacuzzi tub.

James heard from our attorney in the Norquay lawsuit.  We mailed him a 6 page information sheet regarding the job we did for them on Monday.  James wrote it out and I did the typing.  After looking at it they are pretty sure we will be able to recover some of the money they owe us.  It was the first time the attorney has been so optimistic.  James spent several hours today sending him copies of emails between him and Norquay.

I tried to make a batch of cinnamon rolls but the yeast didn't rise.  I determined that I didn't get it hot enough.  The rolls were still good but they were more of the consistency of biscuits than rolls.

James left to go home around 6pm.  He has a doctor's appointment tomorrow, he is working on cleaning off Nate's lot, and he needs to look at the pool.  There was a problem with it earlier in the week.  The pump went off.  Paul got it to working again but not before some algae grew.  He also needs to meet with Zaki about building his house.  I was sad when he left because he seemed sad and I could tell he didn't want to go.

I was lonely this evening.
