Jesus Christ, Death of
Isaiah 25:8
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
Book of Mormon #1
Mormon 3:1-22
*Mormon loved his people in spite of their actions. What should our attitude be towards those we know who don't keep the commandments?
- When he was in the Presiding Bishopric, Bishop Glenn L. Pace admonished us to strive to emulate the love Mormon exhibited: "This prophet had Christlike love for a fallen people. Can we be content with loving less? We must press forward with the pure love of Christ to spread the good news of the gospel. As we do so and fight the war of good against evil, light against darkness, and truth against falsehood, we must not neglect our responsibility of dressing the wounds of those who have fallen in battle." (Ensign, Nov. 1990, 8-9).

The Role of the Book of Mormon in Conversion
"My testimony of the divine calling of the Prophet Joseph Smith has been strengthened by prayerfully studying the Book of Mormon."

Up at 6, I'm two hours late. Maybe my body is trying to tell me something.

"Even those who have been grossly unfaithful to God can reestablish their relationship with him if they will but turn back to Him with full purpose of heart." (OTSM, Hosea, p. 103).

The Hebrew name Hosea signifies help, deliverance and salvation. Hosea was a contemporary of Isaiah, Amos, and Micah.

People I have been asked to pray for today:
1. Jared Ammon. His girlfriend is asking him to leave because of his drinking. Stacy and Paul have offered him a place to stay if he will get treatment. Stacy asked us to pray that he would agree to get treatment.
2. Gary Auxier. Bishop Auxier was found passed out in his car. He is unconscious in the hospital and they don't know what's wrong. (Later in the day I received a text that he was awake and was doing much better. They think he had a stroke).
3. Nate Westbrook. Nate is the son of our friends Dave and Rosa. He works on a ranch in the southern part of the state. A horse fell on him and crushed his hand and shoulder.
These are all serious concerns and I will certainly pray for all of these people.

I spent some time today trying to figure out how to add products on Amazon to sell. I'm having a little difficulty and Amazon does not offer a lot of help. In the meantime I am watching Christmas movies and waiting for Kim and Brian to arrive.

I was taking things upstairs this afternoon when I saw James laying on the bed in my office. He didn't see the quilt squares I had laid out on the bed until I pointed them out. When he got up he had a couple of squares stuck to his behind. I'm just wondering why he didn't use the bed in his office.

Kim and Brian arrived this evening. The turkey is in the brine and James and Brian put together the smoker.

Kim said that Brother Pargetter, an old friend of ours who is now in their ward, is in hospice. The family would like us to pray for him.

Family baptisms are the best!

I love this fall photo!

This girl loves to sleep!

Jesus Christ, Condescension of
Hebrews 2:9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Book of Mormon
Alma 16:1-21
*In your opinion, if the people of America would obey God, how might the Lord ward off enemy attacks for us as He did for the people of Zarahemla?
*The Book of Mormon provides the people of America (and all nations) with a foreign policy that is guaranteed to make them free from "all other nations under heaven." According to Ether 2:11-12, what is this policy?
Old Testament
2 Kings 15-16
15 Many kings reign in Israel and in Judah - Their wickedness, wars, conspiracies, and evils are described - Much of Israel is carried captive to Assyria by Tiglath-pileser.
16 Ahaz reigns in wickedness in Judah - He offers his son in heathen sacrifice - He makes a new altar, destroys the brazen sea, and changes the method for sacrificing in the temple.

A young boy speaking in sacrament meeting:
"The Lord is telling us it's our responsibility to not only care for the Church but to also care for the people within the Church the way that Christ would because this is His Church. If we are trying to keep the commandments, be kind to each other, be honest, be good friends, and enjoy being together, then we will be able to have the Spirit with us and know what Heavenly Father wants us to do. If we don't, then we can't fulfill our calling."

"Are we willing to pray, fast, study, seek, worship, and serve as men of God so we can have priesthood power?"

Elder Cook's conference talk, "Preparing to Meet God", is the talk we will be studying in Relief Society this week. I began to study and read it today and I have decided that it is one of my favorites from this last conference.

Elder Bernecker is the name of the new elder in our ward taking Elder Macy's place. I wonder where he is from.

We have lots of clouds again today and according to the radar on our weather app, rain is very close. It smells, looks, and feels like rain outside, there just aren't any raindrops.

I wrote a thank you note to Rosie who taught the Relief Society lesson last week. I so appreciate her willingness to teach and she did a great job.

James and I picked up Kerri and Catherine this afternoon and the four of us attended the endowment sealing for Sister Brewer, a convert of about 4 years from our ward.

There were 20 ward members in the session with Sister Brewer. This includes Kathy C. who was the 1st follower in the session.
Here is a list of all of those who were there: Kathy and Chuck C., Bishop Miller and Anne, Ed and Debbie the bishop's parents, Lorraine V., Judy H. Teresa S., the Thompson's, the Diewald's, Stefani and Tyler, Sister Reynolds who was Deborah's escort, Kerri, Catherine, James and I. Sister Brewer was glowing when she got to the celestial room. I am so grateful that we went because her attitude made it all worthwhile.

We had a little rain on the way home, and it did rain a little earlier in Vernon. I guess the big rain is coming on Saturday.

When I returned home I finished my steps and read from Children Learning to Read.

I wonder if this is in Elder Allen's

Queen E. and Meghan on tour together.

Something to think about.

Val from DWTS proposes to Jenna from Utah,
and DWTS.

I guess Jenna won't have a temple marriage.
Val is Jewish Catholic.
