Happy Anniversary to these two amazing people.  Not only are they totally devoted to each other but they look for opportunities to serve their family and friends.  They are an example of what a great marriage should be.  21 years and counting!

Conference weekend.  I wonder if anyone will stop at
Bryce Canyon on their way to Salt Lake City.

Today was one of those wonderful, magical days.  We are in a drought so I have been praying for moisture and today we received it.  This was one of the best rains we have had for a long time.  Thank you Heavenly Father!
We had our first fire of the season.

Not only did we have rain, but we had a beautiful sunrise!
So many things to be thankful for.

Helaman 12: 1-13
How will you be blessed if you put your trust in the Lord?
Karen:I can live with peace knowing He has a plan for me.  I can Remember past blessings.  He will prosper me, but when He does, I must not forget Him.  As I follow the commandments I am blessed.  Obedience is the key!  I pray for the strength to press forward.
James: It we put our trust in the Lord, then we are blessed with a greater desire to keep the commandments and repent of sins and mistakes.  Then the blessings begin to flow.  Our faith increases.  As our faith increases our ability to feel the Savior's words when we read or hear them increases.  We begin to recognize His tender mercies in our lives.  We more readily feel of His Spirit and begin to develop an eternal perspective which gives us hope and comfort during trials and tribulation, (pain, discouragement and heartache) that comes to each of us.  We develop the ability to feel happiness and joy even while we are suffering which dispells discouragement.  Things of little or of no eternal value begin to fall out of our lives.  We learn and live what is really important.

GC: 'And There Shall Be No More Death' by Elder Paul V. Johnson
"Even faithful, righteous people view the separation of their bodies from their spirits as captivity.  We are released from this captivity through the Resurrection, which is redemption from the bands or chains of death.  There is no salvation without both our spirit and body."

Mt. Montoso disappeared in the clouds.

James went in to town again today to resolve the Razr problem.  He wanted me to go but I told him I needed to stay here and clean the family room and living room in preparation for our company.   I also needed to clean and polish the wood floors.  I love my husband.  He brought me lunch from Firehouse Subs.  They are good, not quite as good as Jersey Mike's but since there isn't a JM's up here I will accept Firehouse.

Sometimes James has a little curl on top of his head.
It almost looks like a quail topknot.

As we were laying down to take our nap James told me he didn't think he could fix the Razr and would ask Adam to bring the trailer up so we could take it in to town to be fixed.  It was hard for me to accept this.  I told him to sleep on it and try again tomorrow morning.

Ruby got an award for perfect attendance today.
Trina says she thinks she should have gotten the award.

This afternoon after it quit raining James and I went to deliver my visiting teaching handout and bread to Claire's family and to Jean's family. (Both of these sisters are out of town).   When we got to where Claire is staying the gate was locked.  I called Claires mom, Amy, and told her I was leaving the bread and VT handout on the concrete footing under their gate.  She said that was fine because they would be home soon.

Next we went off into the woods to Jean's house.  I always have to have James go because I am never sure if I can find it.  When we got there a big Weimaraner dog came up to the car.  I told James I didn't want to get out because of the dog.  About that time the dog ran over towards the horse corral and I was able to get out.  As soon as I got to the door he returned and started jumping all over me.  As I knocked Jean's granddaughter answered the door.  I handed her the bread and the handout and told her it was for her grandmother.  She said she would be home tomorrow.  I managed to get back into the car without being mauled too much, but I had mud all over my blouse.  Why do people have big dogs that jump on other people?

 Down boy down!

My car is a muddy mess so when we get home James uses the power sprayer to clean it off.  He also cleaned the garage and the driveway.  Thank you Honey!

For dinner we had sweet potatoes.  I put brown sugar and butter on my and it was delicious.  After dinner it was time to do some reading.  I read from Fablehaven, "Christ in Every Hour", and The China Study.  The China Study is an amazing study done on nutrition.  I read about protein and helping malnourished children in the Philippines and Haiti.  At one time in Haiti 54% of the children born, died before the age of 5 because of malnutrition.  So sad.

Today is Throwback Thursday and here are some of my throwbacks:
I sure do love this boy!

My cousin Randy, the mayor,

Funny!

Beautiful!
Even more beautiful!

Alma 58:1-12
1 - The Nephites next object was to take the city Manti.
2 - The Lamanites are more numberous than the Nephites.
3 - The Nephites wait for more provisions and for more men
5 - The Lamanites were receiving strength from day to day.
6 - The Nephites could not come to battle with the Lamanites because of their strongholds.
7 - The Nephiets wait for many months even until they were about to perish for the want of food.
8 - They finally received food and 2,000 men.
9 - The army is grieved because the government didn't send more.
(The reminds me of the U.S. armies in the Revolutionary War.)
10 - They did pour out their souls in prayer to God that He would strengthen the and deliver them out of the hands of their enemies and give them strength to maintain their cities.
11 - The Lord did deliver them with assurances that He would deliver them.
12 - They did take great courage and had great faith that the Lord would deliver them.

I am home alone at Cathi and Terry's and my car is at Erik's getting new shocks and some other work done.  Terry always says I can use his truck but I really don't have anywhere I need to go.

James is doing a job at the multi-million dollar mansion of the owner of Discount Tire on Camelback Mountain.  This guy is worth over 9 billion dollars!  Adam and Seth are working on the job as well as Christopher Gallagos (Lauro) and another guy.  Sorry he didn't get any pictures of Seth.

This a one day job.  James made over $900.

I watched a video today about the Sapporo, Japan temple and it's architecture.  It was very interesting and the temple is beautiful!

When James got home around 2pm we went to IHOP for something to eat and then he went to Susan Jacobson's to correct some touchup paint that was the wrong color.  She gave him some cookies to thank him.  After he left she texted and said: "I should have gave you more cookies."

Cathi and Terry made pork chops, potatoes and salad for dinner.  It was delicious.

Dave and Laura came over for a FHE visit.  It was fun to visit with them and Cathi and Terry. Sorry, no pictures.
