"Preparing for the Second Coming of Christ"
Elder Christoffel Golden
Of the Seventy
More than ever before, we are required to confront the reality that we are getting ever closer to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
Humility
Humility is willingness to submit to the will of the Lord and to give the Lord the honor for what is accomplished. It includes gratitude for His blessings and acknowledgment of your constant need for His divine help. Humility is not a sign of weakness; it is a sign of spiritual strength. When you humbly trust Him and acknowledge His power and mercy, you can have the assurance that His commandments are for your good. You are confident that you can do whatever the Lord requires of you if you rely on Him. You are also willing to trust His chosen servants and follow their counsel. Humility will help you as you strive to be obedient, to work hard, and to serve selflessly.

True doctrine understood changes behavior Everything we do in the Church points us to the temple.
Women and men in the Covenant Order, pattern their lives after Jesus."
I finished reading all of the conference talks this morning. Now I have to narrow my 20 favorite down to 10.
I started a new "walking" book, (book I read while I walk), called "To Marry An Earl."
James worked outside putting in the waterline for the backyard sprinklers. What a mess. It looks like we have a gigantic gopher in our backyard.
I blogged, indexed, along with working on conference talks.
I spent time this afternoon listening to conference talks again trying to decide on my 10. It is a difficult process because they are all good.
I think James had a pretty good day because he was able to work outside on the waterline. He worked past 5:30. Our EQ/RS meeting tonight starts at 6:00. We made it just in time and everyone else was already there. Brother Thompson gave the opening prayer. Tamara had a schedule written on the chalkboard and we began filling in the blanks. Here is what we came up with:
Oct 24th - "The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation" Pres. Nelson
Nov 14th - "The Savior's Abiding Compassion" - Elder Soares
Nov 28th - "Is There No Balm in Gilead?" - Elder Nielsen
Dec 12th - Mesa Temple Dedication/ "How Up Your Light" - Elder Nash
Dec 26th - "The Peace of Christ Abolishes Enmity" - Elder Renlund
"Personal Peace in Challenging Times" - Elder Cook
Jan 9th - "The Greatest Possession" - Elder Holland
Jan 23rd - "With the Power of God in Great Glory" - Elder Bednar
Feb 13th - "Worthiness is Not Flawlessness" - Brother Wilcox
Feb 27th - "A House of Sequential Order" - Elder Sikahema
Mar 13th - "The Need for a Church" - Pres. Oaks
"Trust Again" - Elder Gong
Mar 27th - "The Love of God" - Elder Christofferson
"God's Love: The Most Joyous to the Soul" - Sister Susan Porter
We may have to tweek this schedule a bit but that's it for now. If only we could get another teacher. Right now we only have one.
After finishing the lesson schedule the Elder's Quorum Presidency left for their meeting while we stayed in the Relief Society room for our presidency meeting.
I got home before James did and finished up my walking. We finished reading our book, "The Lady and the Highwayman."
Happy 50th Birthday Kevin!
