"Behold! I Am a God of Miracles"
Elder Ronald A. Rasband
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Miracles are wrought by divine power by Him who is "mighty to save." Miracles are extensions of God's eternal plan; miracles are a lifeline from heaven to earth.
He rose from the grave to "become the firstfruits of them that slept" (1 Corinthians 15:20). As Risen Lord, He visited among those He had loved in life. He also ministered among His "other sheep" (John 10:16) in ancient America. In the modern world, He and His Father appeared to the boy Joseph Smith, ushering in the long-promised "dispensation of the fulness of times" (Ephesians 1:10).
Inklings
Acts 3:1-10
I listened to John and Hank and their guest Dr. Alex L. Baugh on "Follow Him" today as they discussed D&C 58-59. Dr. Baugh is an expert on Church history during the Missouri period. It was long but I listened to all of it and learned a few things I didn't know. Honestly, I enjoyed Dave and Emily on "Don't Miss This" more this week.
James came in while I was still working on the computer and asked if we could listen to a chapter from our book, "A Banner is Unfurled." This book is the first in a series of historical fiction books about the Restoration. The chapters are very long, usually about 40 minutes. When our chapter was finished I went into the kitchen and put the pizza we bought at Safeway yesterday in the oven. It has mushrooms, spinach and alfredo sauce on top of a self-rising crust. It was pretty good but I couldn't eat very much and neither could James. Too rich and too much crust.
This afternoon James went over to Elkins' to work and then he and Chuck went to Holly's to help Charlie with the building they put on the concrete slab. I'm sure they will eventually be done with this little project so James can start our horse stall.
We had to cancel our business credit card today because someone used it. They will be sending us a new one in the mail sometime soon.
Today was Joshua's graduation from 8th grade. He looks so grown up. We are very proud of the fine young man he is becoming. He is the President of his Teacher's quorum and has a strong testimony of the gospel.
James and I signed Emmy's birthday card. We will mail it tomorrow when we go to see Candace Sommer. I worked upstairs again today. I cleaned the two bedrooms guest use. I still need to clean the bathrooms but that will have to be tomorrow.
I watched the Wilhelm's horse operation on their YouTube channel "Big Tin Barn Farm." John has a connection with a man in Joseph City who rescues starving horses from the reservation. John comes and picks these horses up, a few at a time, and brings them to Vernon where his boys "break" them and get them used to be ridden. Eventually, if John doesn't sell the horses, he returns them to Joe City. The batch of horses he picked up this week have a couple of paints and a little filly that George, the 5 year old son of Sandra and John says he's going to work with.
James indexed Orvil and Wilbur Wright today. I indexed a guy names Ignatz Riegelsberger.
Mesa temple when I did my mom's temple work. She was the initiatory worker when I went through for my mom, and when I told her who I was she said she had been a friend of my mom's in high school. We cried together and the experience was so much more meaningful to me because of Velma.
