'Not As The World Giveth'
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
Prior to that first Easter, as Jesus concluded the new sacramental ordinance He had administered to the Twelve, He began His majestic farewell discourse and moved toward Gethsemane, betrayal, and crucifixion. However, sensing the concern and perhaps even outright fear some of those men must have exhibited, He said this to them (and to us):
'Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me....
"I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you....
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
Today is Autumn's 24th birthday. Happy Birthday Autumn! Her mom Kacey posted the following:
I finally figured out how to download the pictures on my phone that were skipped, so I am back in business on my blog.
I told James I was leaving around 10:15 today to pick up Catherine and Kerri and take them to lunch in Snowflake at Eva's. Kerri's birthday was on April 2nd and I promised her we would go to lunch and Eva's was the restaurant of choice. I told her she could invite her mom if she wanted to and she said she would. I told James I needed to clean the inside of my car before leaving. I said this while sitting at the computer working on my blog. He said he would be happy to do it for me. I am so grateful to have such a sweet and thoughtful husband.
When we got to Eva's Kerri picked out a table with six chairs and Catherine wanted to know if we were social distancing? I told her it was a little late for that since we had all been in my tiny car together. Kerri ordered two tostados with a side of rice, I ordered my chicken enchilada with rice and beans and Catherine ordered a chicken taco grande, which was a taco in a deep fried flour tortilla. Kerri said those were the best tostados she has had since moving up here.
After lunch I asked if they would mind if I drove past the high school and they said that would be fine. I took a trip down memory lane. There were some new buildings but the main building and the Petersen building also known as the stake academy were still there. It was a beautiful day in Snowflake, in the 80's with just a slight breeze. I really do enjoy Kerri and Catherine. They are taking a trip back to Oklahoma where Catherine is from. They are leaving on June 1st. Catherine said their first night will be in Amarillo, Texas. They don't want to stop in New Mexico because it's a blue state. They will also go to Kansas to see Bishop Miller and his family.
When I got home James and I listened to a couple of chapters from our book, "An Uncommon Earl." I also got a message from my friend Cammy whom I visited yesterday. She wants to go to the valley and do some shopping and maybe get her hair done at the place where Trina gets her hair done. She said she didn't have anyone to go with and her 12 year old daughter Liana spoke up and said, "What about me"? I told her I would go with her but I would love it if Liana came too. She wants to go next week but she didn't tell me which day. We are getting new tires on the car on Tuesday and Stacy is coming on Thursday evening and on Friday we are going to lunch. That leaves Monday, or Wednesday.
Dr. Moffat called with the results of my bloodwork. He said everything looked good except I was getting too much thyroid and I may be pre-diabetic because my blood sugar was at 109. He did not say I needed to be on any medication but said he would call in another thyroid prescription with a lower dosage.
Kacey sent me a text today. Here is what it said:
Charlie woke up from her nap calling out for Grandma. She called out twice and I told her Grandma wasn't here. She then told me Grandmas was taking her to the park. She was dreaming about you!
My answer: Oh, that is so sweet and makes me want to come back and take her to the park! Tell her how much I love her! I miss her so much! I really do. I can hardly stand that she and Scarlett are both going to grow up and barely know us. I wish we lived closer.
This evening I spent my time walking, indexing and blogging. I did get up once and stick a pot pie in the microwave for James's dinner.
Something to eat while he's indexing. While I was working on the computer I listened to some talks from the BYU Women's Conference. Here are the talks I listened to today:
"Where Will This Lead"? - by Sister Rhea Mayne
"The Path Unexpected: Managing the Unpredictability of Life" - by
Sister Angela Ahn
"Ears To Hear the Lord's Questions" - by Sister Brittany Beattie
"Increasing Our Spiritual Capacity to Recognize and Receive Revelation" - by Sister Tracy Browning
