Freedom of religion acts as a unifying and rallying force for shaping values and morality.
The sun shines through the bedroom door window and it wakes me up. I must have slept in.
While I was getting ready for church, it was after 8, James fixed breakfast for the kids. He wanted me to come too but he didn't tell me until it was too late. Anyway, it was nice of him to fix breakfast for everyone else.
We had family prayer and then we headed to the Vernon ward building. We had a small row all to ourselves. It was perfect. We sat in front of the Tesarek's and behind Sister Vaught and Sister Hubble.
Brother Knippers from the high council and President Smithson from the stake presidency were the speakers today in sacrament meeting.
Here is a quote from Dr./Brother Knippers talk:
We need to move forward to make progress. The Savior is the motivating power in all we do. Are you willing to pray to learn how to pray for more power?
President/Dr. Smithson talked about missionary work and had all of the youth stand up and then read what President Nelson said about missionary work in the last conference. Here is a quote from his talk:
Go where your focus is. Focus on the Savior, serve Him as a missionary. Let God prevail in your life.
Rowan found his Sunday School class quite easily. I was taking Lola down to Primary when it looked like she was about to cry. I asked her if she wanted to stay with Ruby and she said yes, so I turned around and took her back to where Ruby was. James was asking people where the 13 year old Sunday School class met and Ruthie Wilhelm came up and said she would take Ruby to class with her, and of course Lola went with them. It was a small, already quite full classroom taught by Sister Jessica Crane. Lola seemed happy when I left.
Sunday School lesson by Jimmie Applegate on the Psalms. He has such good visual aids via PowerPoint. Such a good lesson. Brother Applegate ended with a "psalm" or poem written by President Hinckley called, "What Is This Thing Called Death?" He showed a six minute video of Janet Kapp Perry telling about asking permission to write music to the words so they could be sung at her nieces funeral. President Hinckley granted permission but her niece had already passed. The song, with music by Sister Perry, was sung by the Tabernacle Choir at President Hinckley's funeral.
I sat by Sue Hubble when I first went into Sunday School. She was so emotional about her daughter and other family situations that she was in tears and decided to go home. I hope I did nothing to contribute to her decision. I felt so badly for her. Her daughter is having reactions to the cancer medication she is on.
When I told Ruby and Lola that Ruthie Wilhelm was a state champion wrestler they could hardly believe it. She is about Ruby's size or a little smaller. I told her she was one tough cookie and she probably learned some of her moves from her older brothers who are all wrestlers.
For lunch I made chicken and waffles. The kids loved it, especially the waffles.
While James and I and probably Rowan, were resting the girls went outside for a walk. Lola came back with an antler and her grandpa was so impressed!
James took the kids up to the falls near our house and got some good pictures. Not only are the falls running, but there are sunflowers everywhere.

on Friday than on Sunday.
Lola and Ruby helped me with the Fairy Forest puzzle. James worked on indexing while I relaxed with the girls. I got a text from Sister Gilliland, my counterpart in the stake Relief Society Presidency, that said: You ok? Should we wait for you? At first I wasn't sure what she was referring to and then I realized she had told me there would be a meeting this evening about the Just Serve website and app. I apologized and told her I had been babysitting all week and honestly just forgot about the meeting. This was her response: No problem, get some rest! She is the best. I love her.
