Relivious freedom honors the first and second great commandments, placing God at the center of our lives.
Religious freedom fosters expressions of belief, hope, and peace.
Religion inspires people to help others.
Freedom of religion acts as a unifying and rallying force for shaping values and morality.

The sun shines through the bedroom door window and it wakes me up. I must have slept in.

While I was getting ready for church, it was after 8, James fixed breakfast for the kids. He wanted me to come too but he didn't tell me until it was too late. Anyway, it was nice of him to fix breakfast for everyone else.

We had family prayer and then we headed to the Vernon ward building. We had a small row all to ourselves. It was perfect. We sat in front of the Tesarek's and behind Sister Vaught and Sister Hubble.

Brother Knippers from the high council and President Smithson from the stake presidency were the speakers today in sacrament meeting.

Here is a quote from Dr./Brother Knippers talk:
We need to move forward to make progress. The Savior is the motivating power in all we do. Are you willing to pray to learn how to pray for more power?

President/Dr. Smithson talked about missionary work and had all of the youth stand up and then read what President Nelson said about missionary work in the last conference. Here is a quote from his talk:
Go where your focus is. Focus on the Savior, serve Him as a missionary. Let God prevail in your life.

Rowan found his Sunday School class quite easily.  I was taking Lola down to Primary when it looked like she was about to cry. I asked her if she wanted to stay with Ruby and she said yes, so I turned around and took her back to where Ruby was. James was asking people where the 13 year old Sunday School class met and Ruthie Wilhelm came up and said she would take Ruby to class with her, and of course Lola went with them. It was a small, already quite full classroom taught by Sister Jessica Crane. Lola seemed happy when I left.

Sunday School lesson by Jimmie Applegate on the Psalms. He has such good visual aids via PowerPoint. Such a good lesson. Brother Applegate ended with a "psalm" or poem written by President Hinckley called, "What Is This Thing Called Death?" He showed a six minute video of Janet Kapp Perry telling about asking permission to write music to the words so they could be sung at her nieces funeral. President Hinckley granted permission but her niece had already passed. The song, with music by Sister Perry, was sung by the Tabernacle Choir at President Hinckley's funeral.

I sat by Sue Hubble when I first went into Sunday School. She was so emotional about her daughter and other family situations that she was in tears and decided to go home. I hope I did nothing to contribute to her decision. I felt so badly for her. Her daughter is having reactions to the cancer medication she is on.

When I told Ruby and Lola that Ruthie Wilhelm was a state champion wrestler they could hardly believe it. She is about Ruby's size or a little smaller. I told her she was one tough cookie and she probably learned some of her moves from her older brothers who are all wrestlers.

For lunch I made chicken and waffles. The kids loved it, especially the waffles.

While James and I and probably Rowan, were resting the girls went outside for a walk. Lola came back with an antler and her grandpa was so impressed!

James took the kids up to the falls near our house and got some good pictures. Not only are the falls running, but there are sunflowers everywhere.

There was more water coming down
on Friday than on Sunday.

Lola and Ruby helped me with the Fairy Forest puzzle. James worked on indexing while I relaxed with the girls. I got a text from Sister Gilliland, my counterpart in the stake Relief Society Presidency,  that said: You ok? Should we wait for you? At first I wasn't sure what she was referring to and then I realized she had told me there would be a meeting this evening about the Just Serve website and app. I apologized and told her I had been babysitting all week and honestly just forgot about the meeting. This was her response: No problem, get some rest! She is the best. I love her.

Jesus Christ, Seed of
D&C 35:2
I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was crucified for the sins of the world, even as many as will believe on my name, that they may become the sons of God, even one in me as I am one in the Father, as the Father is one in me, that we may be one.
Book of Mormon
Alma 53:1-17
16 But behold, it came to pass they had many sons, who had not entered into a covenant that they would not take their weapons of war to defend themselves against their enemies; therefore they did assemble themselves together at this time, as many as were able to take up arms, and they called themselves Nephites.

"For God So Loved Us"
Elder Michael T. Ringwood
Of the Seventy
Why does Heavenly Father's personalized plan for us include helping others return to Him? Because this is how we become like Jesus Christ. Ultimately, the account of Judah and Benjamin teaches us about the Savior's sacrifice for us. Through His Atonement, He gave His life to bring us home. Judah's words express the Savior's love: "How shall I go up to my father, and you be not with me?" As gatherers of Israel, those can be our words as well.

James and Rowan left for Globe early this morning. The girls slept in until after 9.

The girls and I try to watch "Herbie, Fully Loaded" starring Lindsay Lohan but the internet is not working very well so we turn it off. We watch the Lindsay Lohan "Parent Trap" movie instead.

We had leftover pizza for lunch and the girls had cake and ice cream for dessert. This afternoon the girls went for a walk and reported back that there were some cows visiting Luna.  When Rowan got home he and the girls took the Razr and drove the cows away.

The weather today was in the 70's and to James's delight, there was no rain. We are praying that he will be able to pour concrete on Tuesday. In order for that to happen we will have to have a few days of dry weather.

We had a breaker go out yesterday and James replaced it today so we now have complete electricity to our bedroom. James and I went out this evening and delivered George Wilhelm his birthday card. George was not home. He went on a birthday date with his mom.

Ruby and Lola are playing the match game. Lola invited me to play but I declined. It is so embarrassing getting beat by an 8 year old. Lola did have a tea party today and I was invited and attended. I wouldn't miss one of these tea parties.

For dinner we had potstickers, macaroni and cheese, asparagus, and fruit. It's been fun sitting down and eating with the kids.

Later this evening while walking I watched the new Hallmark movie, "Dating the Delaney's."

"Love, Share, Invite"
Elder Gary E. Stevenson
Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
We all share things with others. We do it often. We share what movies and food we like, funny things we see, places we visit, art we appreciate, quotes we're inspired by.
How might we simply add to the list of things we already share what we love about the gospel of Jesus Christ?

Addy was the first to wish me a Happy Birthday, via text. I got lots of wishes today from family and friends, thanks to Facebook and Instagram. I also got several cards in the mail. James wrote me the sweetest note which I will treasure forever. The girls, Ruby and Lola, each made me a note.

James took the day off  work and we went into town around 10:45. We stopped at Panda for lunch because the girls told me they loved their orange chicken and noodles. It was crowded. We all found a place to sit except for James who didn't mind standing.

After lunch James had to get something at Home Depot for the Peeler job. Instead of waiting in the truck the kids and I all got out and walked down to the nursery part of the store to look at the flowers. I picked out some to buy. I thought they were sunflowers but they turned out to be some kind of daisies. James says they are both in the same family.

When James was finished in Home Depot, he couldn't find everything he needed, we went to Safeway to get a cake and ice cream. Why not Walmart instead? Because I had seen a cake at Safeway the other day and I hoped they would have one today like it that I could get. It was a cake with a red mirror glaze that I thought was pretty. The selection of cakes was down at Safeway today. I finally decided on a strawberry cake. After the decision was made the girls and I left James and Rowan to buy the cake and we went over to pick out ice cream. We ended up with Blue Bell cookies and cream, and rocky road. James got a pint of Ben & Jerry's cherry garcia.

It rained on us all the way home. James was a little sad because of his concrete pour scheduled for Tuesday.

I listened to Inklings today while I had some time to myself. The girls and I watched three movies: 1.) Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, 2.) The Ugly Dachsund, and 3.) That Darn Cat. James joined us for the last one and ate popcorn with us.

Ruby finished the round puzzle. She and Ruby helped me with the candy jar puzzle. We have already done a donut puzzle and the succulent puzzle.

My friend Tamara came over this afternoon and brought me some gifts. First of all, an original Dick and Jane book, the kind I had in the first grade at Creighton School in Phoenix.

Tamara said the statue reminded her of me, except
the hair is the wrong color.

James wanted to do everything for me today. He fixed spaghetti for dinner, something he has never cooked before. He was surprised how easy it was. We all sat down together and ate our spaghetti.

Kim and Brian sent a generous gift today. They are so kind and thoughtful.

It was a Happy Birthday. I got a video of Charlie wishing me a "Happy Birthday." It was so sweet and I loved it!
