Helaman 13:1-20
James was up before 4 this morning. We had family prayer together and he left somewhere between 4:30 and 5. He is meeting Darrel and Rowan over on the Rim where they are hunting. After leaving he got a message from Darrel saying they overslept and would be an hour late. Nice.
I was worried James was going to hunt with his broken ankle but all he did was take Rowan his shotgun to use and most of the cinnamon rolls that the Halcomb's brought over. He wasn't in any hurry to get there since he knew Darrel and Rowan were going to be late, so he went over on the Rim road and saw lots of wildlife, everything except turkey's. I'm glad he's not hunting because I do not want a wild, tough turkey to pluck and cook.
James called me between conference session and said he was in Show Low and would I order a couple of Chicken Slingers for him to pick up at Sonic. I did. He ate his on the way home and I ate mine when he got here. I figured he had missed the first session of conference but, he said when he turned on the radio in his truck that President Oaks was speaking and he was the first speaker. He talked about what a great session it was and I agreed. Elder Uchtdorf's talk and Sister Browning's talk were my favorites.
James was so tired, he laid down and took a nap until I turned the next session of conference on. The second session was good too. After the second session James cooked some frozen crab cakes that I got at Walmart. They were a big disappointment. They had cream cheese and jalapeno's and it was hard to taste the crab meat. I had one and that was it for me. We ended up throwing some of them away.
The evening session started at 5pm Arizona time. I think James fell asleep in this session because he said he was going to have to watch it again.
I got a text from my friend Pam after conference. Jenny and I have lunch plans for Tuesday at Bandidos @ 11. Please join us if you can. I miss you and would love to catch up. I answered back:
Thanks you Pam. I miss you too. I would absolutely love to have lunch with you and Jenny but I am taking an older sister (88), who is also a friend, to the temple that day. Pam texted back and said: Ok, next time. I agreed.
James was napping in the bedroom so I went into the family room to get my steps. I turned on the newest GAC movie, "Home for Harvest" and walked around one of the couches. I only got a little over 10,000 steps because my heel on my left foot was very sore and tender.
Before going to bed this evening James called Darrel to make sure they got home okay and to see if they saw or got any turkey. They did get home safely but they neither saw nor got any turkey. I am sure Trina is happy. We listened to a little bit of our new book by Sarah Eden, "The Bachelor and the Bride."
